Capcom Is 'Cautiously Optimistic' About MegaMan 9's Sales

Now this is interesting. Remember those awesome MM9 sales numbers? Well, Capcom has pretty much dismissed them:

“Any numbers you’ve seen or quoted are not correct. That said, I think we’re cautiously optimistic about MM9’s performance.” - Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development

So, the numbers from VGChartz are not correct, but the sales must be good enough to make Capcom "cautiously optimistic."

I'm REALLY curious now as to what the "official" numbers are.

  1. Yesterday when I heard that from Sven after I made that topic, I got kinda disappointed, but I hope it paves a way for a sequel and other 2D games for downloadable services or even on retail game disks, etc.

  2. .. Maybe they did sell that much but Nintendo only gave Capcom some of the prices to make it seem like it sold less? Something seems fishy about it...
