Mega Man X4 1997 Developer Interview Translated by Shmuplations
Shmuplations has translated an old 1997 interview between Mega Man X4 developers Yoshinori Takenaka (Producer), Koji Okohara (Planner), and Ikki Tazaki (Designer). The three talk about the project's origins, creating and implementing a fully-playable Zero, how the X series connects to the classic series and, perhaps best of all, the crazy parties that busted out during development.
Here's a small snippet from the interview:
Okohara: Looking back at X3, we felt there wasn’t enough difference between the way Zero and X controlled, so we we tried to really distinguish them this time. Zero only gets his sword. And there’s no “charge” ability for his weapon, either.
Takenaka: I remember the vast majority of the developers were against that decision at first, actually.
Okohara: Yeah, his sword doesn’t have any reach, and they thought it would make the game too difficult. To address that, we raised his attack power and added Street Fighter-style moves, so he feels completely different from X.

Tokyo Game Show has come and gone, and CESA (Japanese Computer Entertainment Software Association) just declared the winners of the "Future Award". Per tradition, this award goes to upcoming games that received high praise at TGS (collected via attendee votes).
Shown above is the official list of Future Award winners (not ranked; everyone is a winner) and look! It's Mega Man 11! This is the third time a Mega Man game has won a Future Award: Mega Man Battle Network 3 in 2002 followed by Mega Man Battle Network 5 in 2004. Here's a picture of Mega Man 11 producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya receiving the award. Congrats!
Mega Man 11 is due out on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 2nd. My review drops on October 1st.

Rockman 11 One-Shot Manga Sample Pages (UPDATE)
UPDATE: Check out the translated pages here! Thanks, Midori!
By way of Rockman Unity, here's a few pages from the recent Rockman 11 one-shot manga by Ryo Takamisaki. These pages appear to cover the game's initial moments: Dr. Wily's army wreaking havoc upon a city and Dr. Light imparting the tale of the Double Gear system to his children.
The 26-page, single chapter story is now available to read within the pages of September's Coro Coro Aniki. You can order the issue from Amazon Japan here. There are no current plans for additional chapters nor an official English-language adaptation.
I'm more than positive a scanlation will appear down the road, though. Stay tuned!

Coro Coro Aniki Issue Featuring Rockman 11 Manga Now Available
Want to check out Ryo Takamisaki's one-shot Rockman 11 manga? For 720 yen (plus shipping), you can import a copy of this month's Coro Coro Aniki which is featuring the 26-page story. Grab it from Amazon Japan here.
And because it can't be said enough, bear in mind that this is a one-shot. There are no plans for additional chapters. That, too, also makes it unlikely the manga will be translated in English. Official, that is. I'm sure there's some crafty, well-versed-fellow among you capable of translating it. And when you do, send it my way. I'll spread the good word.
Thanks for the tip, Vhyper1985!

Mega Man 11's Impact Man Will Be Known As "Pile Man" in Japan
No reason for the change was disclosed. Perhaps the localizers thought "impact" better reflected his abilities? Maybe they thought "pile" carried some kind of connotation? Who knows – it's up for speculation.
Beyond the whole name thing, the website also brings us some new information about Impact/Pile Man himself. According to his profile, Impact/Pile Man's body "consists of three pile driver robots who call themselves the Impact Brothers: Kui-ichiro, Kui-jiro, and Kui-saburo." That's pretty neat, yeah? You can read more about the big guy here.
While you're at it, check out some voice samples: Japanese version here, English version here.
