Rockman-Themed Pop-Up Shop Heads to LA in March 2024
The Rockman 35th anniversary pop-up shop, which made a brief appearance in Japan last May, is now making its way stateside. Animate has announced that the pop-up shop will be hitting their Los Angeles location in March 2024. While specific dates haven't been disclosed yet, expect that information to come out closer to the New Year.
If you can't make it to LA, fret not! Animate has confirmed that these items will also be available for purchase online. Currently, several Rockman items are up for pre-order on Animate USA's online shop and are slated to be shipped in March 2024. Moreover, customers spending up to $15 on goods will receive one of seven random photo cards (see image on the right for a glimpse).
You can have a look at what's available here. Stay tuned for updates!
Kotobukiya Postpones Rockman X 30th Anniversary Stream Event
Due to "various circumstances", Kotobukiya has postponed the previously-announced Rockman X 30th anniversary live stream event. The show was intended to commemorate not only the X series' 30th anniversary but the 5th anniversary of Kotobukiya's Rockman model kit line. New product reveals for the 30th anniversary and updates on previously-announced model kits were anticipated.
Kotobukiya has indicated that the stream will be rescheduled for a later date. New products that were intended to be announced will be featured on a separate YouTube Talk Live program. Additional details will be disclosed at a later date.

Capcom Redesigns Official Rockman Website
For the first time in six years, Capcom has completely refreshed their official Rockman website. The update strips down much of the leftover 30th anniversary content — which hung around for a good while after the occasion — and organizes everything in a more clean and streamlined format.
The revamped site now features a single page divided into three sections: Latest News, About, and Goods. The previous franchise timeline has been replaced by a simple "about" section that spotlights each individual Rockman series. Each series is accompanied by sleek key art alongside a small screenshot. Interestingly, the screenshot representing the EXE series appears to be from a pre-release build of the game—an unintentional oversight. Oops!
Apart from these changes, there's not much else of note. Nonetheless, the overall refresh is intriguing, especially considering that Capcom historically redesigned the site to coincide with anniversaries. However, the 35th anniversary deviated from this tradition without an overhaul. With Rockman X's 30th anniversary fast approach, perhaps this was the opportune moment.

Collector to Showcase Various Rockman Prototypes for the First Time in Japan
To commemorate the recent release of his latest book, Not For Resale Guidebook GOLD, author and collector Jironosuke will be showcasing a range of prototype and pre-release software from his personal collection next week in Osaka.
Among the highlights are prototypes for Rockman 1, Rockman 3, and Rockman X. This event will mark the very first public viewing of these early versions, which currently remain undumped. Jironosuke has previously eluded to a number of differences—both minor and significant—between these prototypes and the final retail versions, so it'll be interesting to finally see them in action. Please note that attendees will not be able to play the games; rather, Jironosuke will demonstrate them on stage.
The event takes place on Sunday, November 26th at 17:30 JST at Umeda Lateral in Osaka. If you're in the area, swing on by and check 'em out for us. For those unable to attend, let's keep our fingers crossed for some footage.

To enter, simply send an e-mail to RockmanCornerContests@gmail*com (remove the *, of course) with "BIG" in the subject line. Winners will be randomly selected on Monday, November 13th, at 12 PM CST. If you win, I'll hit you up with an access code along with instructions on how to play. Anyone can enter; there are no restrictions here. UPDATE: Submissions are closed. Thank you for participating!
For those unfamiliar, Rockman BIG is a bite-sized browser game that challenges you to defeat Elec Man, Air Man, and "Dodeka Dr. Wily"—an original Wily machine boss character. As you conquer bosses and tackle challenges, you'll earn Bolts, which can be exchanged for physical prizes.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Tops 1.42 Million Units Sold
Three months ago, Capcom announced that Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection (Vol.1+Vol.2) sold 1.32 million units as of June 30, 2023. In their latest financial report for the second quarter of fiscal year 2023, Capcom has now confirmed that the collection has achieved 1.42 million units in sales as of September 30, 2023.
While it's not too big of a jump from the previous report, it's worth noting that Capcom has only recently started to include the title in discount campaigns. This strategy is expected to lead to a steady and gradual growth in sales, similar to what was observed with Mega Man 11.
As of now, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection still trails behind Mega Man 11 (1.80 million units) and Mega Man 2 (1.51 million units) in terms of sales, but it has rapidly secured the third best-selling selling Mega Man title, surpassing Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 (1.40 million units).
What's more? The Mega Man franchise as a whole jumped from 40 million units to 41 million units sold thanks to Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection's strong sales.

Jada Toys Mega Man Figure Delayed to December (Big Bad Toystore)
Just as things were settling in place Jada Toys' new Mega Man toyline, there's unfortunate news from one retailer.
The 6-inch Mega Man figure, initially set to ship in November, is now slated for a December release. This update came via an email sent to customers who pre-ordered the figure from Big Bad Toystore. The exact reasons for this slight delay are unclear. However, the other figures in Wave 1 - Fire Man and Ice Man - currently remain unaffected and are still on track for their original release dates.
BBTS is currently the only retailer reporting this delay, and it's uncertain if others will follow. A representative from Jada Toys was unavailable for comment. We'll provide updates as they come in.
Thanks for the tip, phaelin!

Objection! Mega Man Pays Homage to Ace Attorney in Newest Wallpaper
To mark the winner of Round 4 in the Capcom Town Elections, Capcom has put together a special set of wallpapers featuring the beloved characters connected to different "famous quotes" that were in the running for votes during the round. The question in contention was, "Which of the following is your Capcom’s famous quote?"
As you can see, Mega Man is one of the chosen ones along with a Zombie from the Resident Evil series, Masamune Date from Sengoku Basara series and a Hunter from Monster Hunter series.
The wallpapers were illustrated by Tamio, a member of Capcom's design room who provided illustrations for various Capcom goods in the last few years.
You can download Mega Man's wallpaper HERE! Please note that the image above is our own edit; Mega Man's version says "異議あり!" ("Igiari!").

Rejected Ruby-Spears Mega Man Comic Book Pages Unearthed
Not too long ago, we uncovered an intriguing tidbit about the Ruby-Spears Mega Man cartoon - it nearly had an official comic book adaptation. Back in 1995, Bruce Hamilton Publishing had plans to bring this tie-in to life, but information about it was scarce, leaving us in the dark about what it might have looked like.
Today, I'm excited to reveal that we've gained much more insigh. Perhaps a little too much. I recently connected with a collector who managed to acquire two very interesting samples from this unpublished endeavor. These pages were crafted by the Day brothers, Dan and David, known for their work on several Marvel Comics projects, Dungeons & Dragons, and other titles.

Capcom Shares Rare Mega Man Legends Art for Tezuka Museum Exhibit
The Capcom Vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters art exhibit is currently in full swing in Japan. For those of us who aren't fortunate enough to attend in person, Capcom's official artwork Twitter account has been sharing collaborative art created exclusively for the exhibit, as well as artwork from Capcom's archives that's currently on display.
Today, they shared a very rare piece featuring Mega Man Volnutt, Roll Caskett, Tron Bonne, Data, and a Servbot, casually hanging out with Anarkis from Darkstalkers. The illustration is the work of Ryuji Higurashi, who served as the package artist for the Japan-exclusive Rockman DASH 1 and DASH 2 PSP ports back in 2005.
Considering this information, along with the seemingly unexpected inclusion of Anarkis, it leaves me with the impression that this piece was originally created as part of a promotional campaign for the PSP, aimed at promoting the DASH ports and Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower. UPDATE: Sure enough, it was indeed part of a 2006 PSP campaign! The original image featured several other characters as well.
If you're headed to the show this weekend, be sure to check it out in person! I'm sure it will look even better without the watermark...

Official Mega Man NT Warrior Marathon is Coming Back to YouTube
Battle Routine set! Capcom USA and YouTube Gaming are teaming up once again for another Mega Man NT Warrior marathon. According to the official Mega Man Twitter, you can catch the live streams every day at 10 AM Pacific time.
Right now, we're not entirely sure how long this marathon will go on for. In the last marathon earlier this year, they really dug into Mega Man NT Warrior Axess and even threw in a rare dubbed episode that hadn't been shown in the United States before. Also, fingers crossed they keep the episodes available once the marathon wraps up too!
To find out how it unfolds, make sure to tune in and check out the show on Capcom USA's official YouTube channel.

Rockman 20XX Has Been Successfully Preserved, Playable via FlashPoint
Rockman 20XX: Tatakae! Team Shachi!, the officially-licensed browser game by Capcom and Team Shachi, ended service on August 31st. However, I'm pleased to announce that the game has been fully preserved on Flashpoint, an open-source platform dedicated to archiving Flash games.
This preservation effort was carried out by Flashpoint archivist ThePowerPlayer, who played through the game multiple times to ensure the successful extraction of every asset, including those wacky cutscenes. If you have no earthly idea what I'm talking, give this a watch.
To experience Rockman 20XX once more (or maybe for the first time), download the latest version of the Flashpoint Infinity installer here. A Windows-based system is recommended, although limited support for Mac and Linux is available. If you run into any issues or glitches, drop a comment. I'll pass it up to the chain!
Many thanks again to ThePowerPlayer for seeing this one through!

New Teppen Card Pack Turns Vile Into a Clockwork Toy
Mega Man X DiVE Offline is Now Available on PC, Android and iOS
In case you needed a reminder, Mega Man X DiVE Offline is officially a-go. The game is now available to download on Steam, the Google Play Store, and the App Store. It'll set you back $29.99. No micotransactions, no additional DLC - it's a one time payment. Also, contrary to early speculation, an internet connection is not required to play the Steam version.
In a nutshell, Mega Man X DiVE Offline retains most of the original game's content: 100+ characters, stages, and modes. However, online features such as Battle Mode, Co-op, Ranking, Guild, and Capsule naturally didn't make the cut. Crossover content based on Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, and Monster Hunter won't be making an appearance either. There's currently no plan to include them down the line.
A final note if you missed it: save data transfer from the original version is not possible. You'll have start the game over from scratch. Not a terrible loss if you're new to X DiVE, but for those who've been around since the beginning, I feel you.
And that's about it! Capcom also posted a post-release survey. After filling it out, you'll be treated to some hi-res key art. Hit up the link and let them know what you think!

Additional Mega Man X DiVE Offline Details From Producer Asada So
In the latest Mega Man X DiVE video update, the spotlight turned to Asada So, the producer of the offline version. He took the opportunity to reveal further details about the game's development. It's a little over 4 minutes long, but if you're in a hurry, here's the noteworthy bits:
- Elemental Metals will be given to players as stage completion awards. Additional items, characters and weapon fragments will also be available as stage rewards or to exchange in the in-game shop.
- Seasonal Events are included and can be played whenever you want, regardless of the time of year.
- A new mode has been created to listen to the game's BGM and character voice clips.
- To compensate for the removal of PvP, certain skills have been adjusted and fine-tuned for PvE.

Mega Man Battle Network is on a bit of a winning streak, particularly following Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection achieving over a million units in sales in record time. The game is now available to pre-order on Steam, priced at $29.99. For those who were anticipating a more budget-friendly or even free option... well, here we are.

Mega Man X DiVE Offline will include a large majority of the original game's content, game modes, characters (totaling over 100) and stages.
Online features such as Battle Mode, Co-op, Ranking, Guild, and Capsule are not included. The Misadventures of Tron Bonne "Gappori Guide" Scans Now Available
Following the release of the Rockman DASH 2 Final Digouter's File, we're delighted to share that high-quality scans of the elusive and long out-of-print "Tron Ni Kobun Gappori Guide" are now available on the Internet Archive. This preservation contribution comes from our friends 0xmortis and RockmanCosmo.
Just like the previous art books in the DASH series, the Gappori Guide is packed with concept art of various characters and mecha, including designs that were never fully realized. A good slice of the book also provides a behind-the-scenes look at Capcom HQ, with snapshots capturing the development team's workspace. Those famous life-size Servbot props make an appearance too.
Please be aware that the scans are currently in their original Japanese format. The developer commentary throughout the guide will remain untranslated for now, but as always, if there's enough interest, a full scanlation project could be just around the corner.
In the meantime, feel free to check out the complete guide here!

Capcom and Team Shachi's Rockman 20XX Browser Game Will Shut Down on August 31
Rockman 20XX: Tatakae! Team Shachi!, an 8-bit browser game by Capcom and Team Shachi, will cease operations on August 31st.
Originally launched in 2019, Rockman 20XX presents a goofy, non-canon storyline that takes place after the events of the classic series. Rockman has retired and now resides in an old robot retirement home alongside Blues and Roll. Team Shachi, the embodiment of benevolence, graces the retirement home with a heartwarming concert. Laughter and joy fill the air until an unexpected twist occurs—a sinister AI version of Dr. Wily emerges and corrupts Rockman, morphing him into a malevolent super robot.
In the face of this looming threat, Dr. Light's AI bestows the members of Team Shachi with the ability to transform into super fighting robots. Their mission: thwart Dr. Wily and his team of geriatric Robot Masters. Yeah!
If you haven't had the chance to play the game yet, now is the time. It's available to play directly in your browser here. Regarding the future preservation of the game, there are no specific details to share at this time. However, if any developments arise, I will certainly keep you updated!
