RM9 Secret Stage Boss Revealed: "Fake Man"

Those hoping to duke it out with Forte in the upcoming special stage DLC will be disappointed:
"Fake Man", the Robot responsible for putting Dr. Light behind bars, is prepared to take you on in what Hironobu Takeshita calls, a "very challenging" stage:

GS: Are there any robot masters that didn’t make the cut that you can share with us?

HT: I don’t mean to evade your question, but there is one boss we’d love to introduce to the fans in this occasion. His name is Fake Man. He appears on the special stage available in downloadable content. He also makes a small appearance in the main content. This is a big hint! Some of you might have already gotten it by just telling you this. The special stage will be very challenging for most of you, and you may not be able to see him often. Don’t be discouraged. He is waiting for you, to battle you!

  1. didnt see that coming o_o

  3. Drat! And I was so hoping it would be Dr. Light fighting in the Light Launcher (a la Dr. Cossack's Cossack Catcher). =P

Fake Man, though? I'm surprised they were able to resist the temptation to name him Police Man. ;0)

  4. Pretty disappointing indeed.
I was at least expecting a rather important character, Forte or a new rival maybe. But not some insignificant robot master like this.

What does 'fake' have to do with him being a police officer, other than not being a real one. He could be a fake anything, doctor, engineer, student, ...
He should have been called Police Man or Law Man or ...

  5. I wanted to see an 8 bit Bass, but Fake Man's super challenging stage is just as well. With Wily out of the way, I wonder what kind of dirty tricks that stage has to offer.

  6. I figured it wouldn't be Forte, so I'm not disappointed. Though I didn't expect Mr. Fake Police Officer man at all. I wonder if he will give us a new weapon to fill that last slot.

  7. Looks like a NES DuckTales game boss...

Don't get me wrong, but ALL Rockman9 extras are... crap. Ya, even Proto Man, for being story-less and merely playable though. That endless stage has no sense after all. Rockman is NOT a game for ranks or time trials, but for retro play and full enjoyment. I barely use the shop or even the saves. You know, the NES versions hadn't any of these things.

  8. I'm not disappointed. This was so out of left field that it turned around and became utterly brilliant. Who'd think you'd eventually have to tango with the DAMNED ROBO COP?

  9. The chest and shoulders remember me Zero.

  10. Maybe his true form isn't the police robot....maybe he changes forms? There's got to be a reason he's called fake man.

  11. Enh. This is disappointing... that's all I can really say. I too wasn't expecting Bass (though I was certainly hoping for him), but this... enh. After everything Mega Man has gone up against, how does a run-of-the-mill, robot cop pose any sort of challenge or threat at all? It just doesn't fit to me.

Also, what an awful name. Fake Man? As someone else said, with a name like that, he could be a fake anything, not just a fake police officer.

  12. This isn't a "downloadable context" in anyways, but a "unlockable context", since it's already in the game: you buy the patch to unlock them. The exact same strategy of MegaMan PoweredUp. When all the unlockables are over, the DLC will be over too... :(

  13. @fabiano

Some people have hacked the games and there is data missing like sprites and so, that you have really have to download for play the DLC content.

So it's not just an "unlocker"

I love that "Fake Man" xD
He looks so cute... and so fakey XP
