Mega Man Powered Up User-Created Stages Have Been Saved

After being online for 16 years, Capcom officially closed the Mega Man Powered Up servers on November 30, 2022. Many of us were understandably worried about losing the thousands of user-created stages. But good news! I'm happy to share that everything - and I do mean everything - has been safely preserved for posterity. Read on for the lowdown!

First 4 Figures Teasing New, Upgraded Mega Man X Statue

Compared to the recent Mega Man X4-inspired Zero statue, First 4 Figures' original X piece looks a little... meh. But come later this year, that's about to change.

Alex Davis, a member of the First 4 Figures team, recently shared the above behind-the-scenes image on the F4F Official Collectors Club Facebook page. Horrifying it may be, the accompanying text brought the necessary context: "X is coming later this year!

In addition to the refreshed X statue, Alex also revealed that his design team is currently working on conceptualizing a Full Armor X statue. Alex intends to present the concept to the Facebook group in a few weeks and if there's enough interest, the project will be given the go-ahead.

To keep your appetites whet till then, Alex is asking fans to signup to be notified when the upgraded X goes on sale. Everyone that does gets 10% off their order.

Kotobukiya Full Armor X Review

Released at the tail-end of January 2023, Kotobukiya's Full Armor X is the newest addition to the Rockman X model kit line. From what I've seen, some people have been waiting for this particular armor since the beginning of the line. But was it worth the wait?

Join me after the break as I outline exactly what it absolutely was worth the wait and why it might be the best kit yet.

Mega Man X Mobile Now Available on Android

Twelve years after launching on iOS, Capcom's "enhanced" mobile port of Mega Man X has finally made its way to Android. The game, which is by no means the ideal way to experience the SNES classic, can be purchased from the Google Play Store for $9.99 US

Although it appears to be identical in terms of content to its iOS counterpart, the $9.99 price tag is somewhat surprising. It's more expensive. I dunno; your guess is as good as mine.

It's unclear why Capcom chose to release the Android version twelve years later. But if you're interested, go wild I guess. Like I said, it's not an ideal port. There are many other superior alternatives to play X1.

Rare Rockman EXE Happy Meal Commercial Found

For as long as Rockman Corner has been online, I've been keeping track of seldom seen Mega Man and Rockman commercials. And today I'm adding one more to the mix.

A somewhat long-lost McDonald's Japan commercial for the 2005 Rockman EXE Happy Meal toys has been found. Although glimpses of this spot have surfaced in the past, it's remained pretty elusive until now. But here it is, complete with Ronald McDonald slotting-in a Battle Chip and Akiko Kimura (Rockman.EXE) exclaiming "I'm lovin' it!" in Japanese. Good stuff.

If you want to hunt down the toys themselves, eBay, Yahoo Auctions and Mercari are your best bet. The toys also saw a limited run in Brazil under the Mega Man NT Warrior label too. So if you come across any with the NT Warrior branding, you can be confident that they're authentic. Happy hunting!

A Small Peak at Mega Man Universe's Planned DLC

It's been a minute since we talked about Mega Man Universe's meteoric downfall. But the ghost of Keiji Inafune's ill-fated star child has reared its head once more.

As a small continuation to my previous piece, "How Over-Ambition and Mismanagement Killed Mega Man Universe", I'm pleased to present a comprehensive list of the intended downloadable content for Mega Man Universe, accompanied by commentary and insights from individuals involved in the project.
