Via Twitter, the Rockman X DiVE development team revealed that Swimsuit Iris will be coming to the game as the new limited S rank character. She will be joining Alia, Layer and Roll as the fourth swimsuit character in this year's Summer Carnival event.
While the development team didn't say anything in terms of a release date, if we carefully consider the way they've operated in the past, she will be released this Thursday. We can also expect Iris to have at least one alternate color, too. (much like Roll or Layer)
The development team only shared a low quality gif of Iris right now. Nevertheless, what do you think about it

With just about three weeks to go before the first issue of Boom Studios' Mega Man Fully Charged hits newsstands, we have two more variant cover reveals.
By way of Scorpion Comics, we have a lovely cover by Peach Momoko (Marvel, DC IDW) and a plain 'ol blank blue cover variant. Momoko's cover offers some clues at who we might see in the first issue: Skull Man (intended to be the comic's secondary antagonist), Guts Man, Blasto Woman and fan-favorite rival Chaotique. These particular variants appear to be exclusive to Scoprion Comics for the time being.
Mega Man Fully Charged #1 goes on sales August 26th, 2020.

Here's a look at one of the cover variants for Mega Man Fully Charged Issue #3 drawn by Miguel Mercado. Issue #3 will be in stores on October 28 for $3.99. It's written by AJ Marchisello with interior art by Stefano Simeone.
Here's this issue's solicitation:
Mega Man fears he is not strong enough to protect Silicon City after he learns of a plot for a new robot uprising led by Skull Man and a shocking ally! But can Mega Man trust Dr. Wily's offer to make him the upgraded hero Silicon City needs?
So in case there was any doubt, that's indeed Skull Man. There was some speculation that this mysterious skeleton-bot could have been Doc Robot. Ah, well. Maybe next time!

The footage shown above (at mark 1 hour, 36 minutes) isn't too long but it gives you a good idea of how the world first virtual reality Rockman game plays. Because it's unlikely we'll see a full play-through any time soon, you may be wondering what happens at the end of the game.
After the player defeats Dr.Wily, he kneels in front of you and laments the fact that people are enjoying VR before escaping the scene. Then, a screen with all the characters smiling at the player is shown and it's game clear!
Head below for more images, a trailer (!!) and some early pre-order info!

Video game preservationist group Gaming Alexandria has announced that, for the first time ever, all 9 games from Bandai's high obscure Design Master handheld console have been dumped and preserved. Rockman X3 Buster Battle included!
We've ran a couple stories about Rockman X3 Buster Battle on the blog before but, for the uninitiated, it's a bite-sized RPG where you draw weapons for X on the built-in touchscreen and battle various Mavericks. Check out some gameplay here.
Now, although Gaming Alexandria have successfully preserved the game, you can't exactly play it - yet. The Design Master itself doesn't have a working emulator, though that is a task currently being headed up by Team Europe. In the meantime, though, you can still download the game AND the some very high quality scans of the packaging, manual and cartridge.
So head on over to Gaming Alexandria's page on the Design Master and scoop up some obscure blue bomber history!
Roll was teased a few days ago and we saw Layer's icon in yesterdays preview fort the "Summer Vacation for Lord of Snowy Plain" stage event. And today, the development team has released a new trailer showcasing both characters' skills in action.

While issue #1 is expected to hit newsstands in a couple weeks, this particular variant is coming a tad later -- September 2nd, 2020. Only 500 copies will be printed. Pre-orders are now available for a limited time from Big Time Collectibles.

Today we are starting the third week of Rockman X DiVE's Summer Carnival. So far it's been a very "chill" event, almost invisible if you will. This week in particular is feeling really bare, as there are no new characters arriving in the game. Regardless, this week brings a weapon banner and some new content to keep players entertained. Let's check it after the break!

As we await the launch of Boom Studios' brand-new Mega Man Fully Charged limited series in a couple weeks, issue #3's covert art has arrived to tide us over.
The character featured in the center is Namagem -- the twin "brother" of Mega Man/Aki Light. (his name is 'Mega Man' spelled backwards. Yeah.) Namagem is depicted standing amidst a pile of broken and tattered robotic bodies with, what appears to be, Skull Man looming in the background. Note that Skull Man did not appear in the Fully Charged animated series.
Pending this issue's solicitation, it remains to be seen if the cover represents an event taking place during the "Hard Wars" or after the events of the show's final episode "The Gauntlet Part II." One thing is certain, though: this series will be tonally darker than the animated series.

Earlier this week, Udon's very own Matt Moylan took to the company's 20th anniversary Comic-Con stream to drop some "secret info" about books currently in-development. While there are numerous books coming from different video game and anime franchises, there's always one that appeals directly to us: Mega Man.
Here's what Matt had to say on that front: "We're working on a few books for Mega Man and I chose this Mega Man image on purpose, so think about that."
The image Matt is talking about is the above key art from Mega Man Legends 2. So yeah... think about that.
I'd like to add I'm privy to the development of one of these new books. It's something that I think a lot of people are really going to enjoy. Hopefully we'll have some news to share soon. Stay tuned!
Thanks for the tip, Paul!

It appears we're on the verge of some major news concerning Capcom and Chernin Entertainment's live action Mega Man movie. Directors Henry Joost and Rel Schulman sat down with IGN this afternoon to provide a brief update on the project, which has been in development since 2018.
"We're super excited about it," said Henry Joost. "I think we're going to have some big news about it soon. I can't say all that much about it right now but it's a project very near and dear to our hearts. We're psyched."
Rel Schulman adds, "[Mega Man] is an underdog hero and both of us are deeply fascinated with robotics and the future of automation, for better or worse. I think trying to combine that into one of our favorite historical video games is the ultimate challenge."
Tentativelly titled "Mega Man", the film will be directed by Henry Joost and Rel Schulman, produced by Masi Oka and written by Mattson Tomlin, the co-writer of Matt Reeve's upcoming The Batman (2021). There are no details on story, cast or a release date at this time.
We'll keep you posted!
For your consideration, here's the final variant cover art for Boom Studios' Mega Man Fully Charged issue #1. It's illustrated by John Giang, who is best known for his concept art on films such as The Avengers, Pacific Rim and Transformers (full credit list here).
Based on preliminary details, this variant will be limited to 500 copies. It will be sold exclusively through Big Time Collectibles for $24.99.
Mega Man Fully Charged #1 goes on sale in August. It will run for six issues.

Thursday, July 9, 2020
Capcom Japan have released a near-minute long teaser trailer for Rockman VR: Targeted Virtual World!!, the upcoming virtual reality attraction at Plaza Capcom Store Ikebukuro. The attraction will be playable exclusively at Plaza Capcom - nowhere else - starting July 18th.
Rockman VR pits players in the role of Rockman as they take down a swarm of enemies, Block Man and eventually Dr. Wily himself! It's all done from a first-person perspective. Rockman 11's Double Gear System will play a key role, too.
The experience will run for 25 minutes. The length factors in both prep time and a how-to-play explanation from Plaza Capcom staff. So while it's not actuall 25-minutes worth of gameplay, participants can expect at least 15 minutes of VR goodness.
Ticket reservations are currently being accepted directly from Capcom. One tickets costs 1,500 yen. It's the most inexpensive of Capcom's other virtual reality attractions at Plaza Capcom, actually.
Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see some gameplay. Stay tuned!
Originally scheduled for today, the content update that would have brought us the Mega Man Zero Series event and other contents has been delayed. According to the notice the developer posted on the official website, the cause of this issue is a "delay in the review of the update data." Nevertheless, the game has been updated with a few events and the developer has issued a generous compensation to players. Find all the details after the break!

The Rockman X DiVE development team teased Zero and Leviathan back in March and it looks like they're inching closer. Today, the development team have partially revealed Zero but you can expect more news about the Zero series event early next week.
While we don't know for certain yet, it's very likely that Zero will be a free character obtainable just by playing an event. Something similar happened with Classic Mega Man. We will keep you posted.

Capcom Japan have announced Rockman VR: The Targeted Virtual World!!, a brand-new virtual reality experience coming to the Plaza Capcom Ikebukuro store in a few weeks. I repeat: this is a virtual reality experience, not a home console title.
The attraction will reportedly have players arming themselves with a "real" Rock Buster to take down various enemies from Rockman 11. Rockman VR will be playable exclusively at Plaza Capcom's VR-X suite starting July 18th, 2020.
Here's the plot synopsis:
"A peaceful VR world where everyone was having fun.... and Dr. Wily is planning to hack and conquer it! Oh, Rockman, put on the VR goggles developed by Dr. Right and enter the VR world to stop Dr. Wily's ambitions!"
More Rockman VR details are expected to be unveiled soon. And before anyone asks, no; this is not the "next major game" that's been in development since at least early 2019. Rockman VR is intended to be an attraction, limited to a very specific venue. The "major title" is currently being spearheaded by Kazuhiro Tsuchiya and his team at Capcom Japan.
UPDATE: According to Tsuchiya, the Double Gear system will play a large role in the experience. What's more, it will be in first person.

It's been a while since we talked about Teppen. The last time was at the beginning of March with the release of Zero and the "Hunted By Memories" card pack. After March, development of the game slowed down due the spread of COVID-19. Fortunately some normalcy is settling in and developer GungHo Online are ready to launch both a new hero and card pack.
The new hero, Felyne from the Monster Hunter series, arrived with a new card pack that includes10 brand-new Mega Man X-themed cards. And as usual, we're bringing you the clean card artwork and flavor text (spoken in Felyne tongue, no less) to enjoy. Check them out after the break!

The Rockman Kanzen Hisshou Bon (better known to English speaking fans as Friday Special: Rockman Total Winning Handbook, courtesy of #20) is not only one of the rarest Rockman guide books, but also the oldest. It was published in Japan on January 17, 1988. That's precisely one month after the first Rockman game hit store shelves. And now for the first time ever, you can admire it without forking over a fortune.

The variant cover art for Mega Man Full Charged issue #2 just dropped and a closer look at the comic's Dr. Wily incarnation. He's clad in a purple suit, wearing a purple tie laced with the letter "W" and, to complete the package, suspenders over the shirt from Rocko's Modern Life. Oh my.
We know next to nothing about the Boom! Studios Dr. Wily. This cover, illustrated by Miguel Mircado, gives off a very eccentric-like quality. A little bit of Doc Brown or Bill Nye? Then again Wily is depicted as an enigmatic figure on the standard issue #2 cover. Regardless, it will be interesting to see where Boom! takes this version of the character. It could be unlike any Wily we've seen before.
Mega Man Fully Charged issue #1 goes on sale this August followed by issue #2 in late September.

This new report comes to us from Dengeki Hobby. You can find all the details below!

The first issue of BOOM! Studios' new Mega Man Fully Charged comic isn't even out yet (August) and we already have ourselves the cover and solicitation for the second issue.
Via Previews World:
(W) AJ Marchisello, Marcus Rineheart (A) Stefano Simeone (CA) Toni Infante
Mega Man's search for information brings him to Dr. Wily, a scientist who may hold the secrets to the hero's mysterious past. As Mega Man struggles with his newly reawakened memories of a brutal war, he must choose who he can truly trust-his father Dr. Light or the enigmatic Dr. Wily.
Based on the cover and description, the real Dr. Wily will definitely play a key role in the story. Now, it remains to be seen if this is a wholly new character or he father of the young Bert Wily from the source material. Either way, we're getting a Fully Charged Dr. Wily.
Fully Charged #2 goes on sale on September 23rd, 2020.

Released on March 25, 2020, the Rockman Zero & ZX Sound Box is a 6-CD set containing 208 tracks from Rockman Zero 1 to 4, Rockman ZX and Rockman ZX Advent. Each disc contains the original uncompressed source music.
Packed in a beautiful digi-stack with new artwork drawn by Toru Nakayama and Makoto Yabe, this box set is close to perfection, if not for the glaring omission of the "Reploid Remixes". Nevertheless it's a great addition to your music collection. Today, we are happy to bring you the booklet translation thanks to our friends Sidier and Rock Miyabi (who provided the scans). Without further delay, check it out after the break!

From day one it has been clear that the Rockman X DiVE development team has a deep appreciation for Rockman X Command Mission. Last week saw the release of Marino's Quicksilver skin and Mad Nautilus' appearance in the Story Mode and Boss Challenge. And this week, another character from Command Mission joins to the Deep Log: "Ultimate Armor X." This character is based on a secret Hyper Mode from Command Mission, which could be obtained by defeating Rafflesian. Check out the official trailer after the break!

Need a 'yes man' in your life? Well, here's a mega one for you. An officially licensed classic series Mega Man bobblehead is in the works from Icon Heroes! Pre-orders are currently available from Big Bad Toystore. It's expected to ship in the first quarter of 2021.
The bobblehead stands at roughly 8-inches tall. The design is based on Mega Man's Super Smash Bros. appearance, distant stare and all. It remains to be seen if this is a "pending licensor approval" render, i.e not the final design.
So, what do you think? Want this guy on your desk next year?
