Review: Kotobukiya Axl White Version

The Mega Man X series is famous for many things, but one of the most distinctive elements is the variety of Armors worn by its characters. X is the face of this tradition, though Zero, Vile, and Sigma have each sported multiple designs over the years. Then there’s the most enigmatic member of the cast: Axl. In Mega Man X8, Axl received a mysterious upgrade known only as “???”—better remembered by fans as White Axl. For over two decades, this design has gone without a proper figure, until now. To my surprise, Kotobukiya has finally answered the call. We know their track record speaks for itself, but just how impressive is this release? Let’s take a closer look!

Review: Kotobukiya Bass.EXE

For Kotobukiya’s various Mega Man lines—and most Mega Man toy lines in general—it’s rare to see characters beyond the main cast get made. Lately, though, Kotobukiya seems to have taken that criticism to heart. They are trying to venture off the beaten path with kits like the upcoming Sigma, the surprise announcement of Roll.EXE, or with today's subject: the Cyberworld's God of Destruction, Bass.EXE. Was Kotobukiya able to deliver on this fan-favorite rouge Program? Join me after the break as we discuss everything about this kit!

ThreeZero MDLX Proto Man Revealed

ThreeZero has unveiled the latest addition to their growing MDLX Mega Man line — the red rocker himself, Proto Man! The prototype was showcased at Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2025 and appears to be in scale with the company’s previous classic series figure.

A release date hasn’t been announced yet, and if past launches are any indication, it may be several months before Proto Man goes up for preorder.

Unreleased, Unknown Rockman Figure Surfaces on Mercari

I don’t usually spotlight auctions on the ol’ blog, but this one’s too wild to ignore. A previously unseen, one-of-a-kind Rockman figure has surfaced on Mercari’s seller market—seemingly never released commercially, or perhaps intended for a future launch. The manufacturer is unknown, but the figure appears legitimate, featuring Rockman in his classic Rockman 1 title screen pose and bearing a Capcom copyright stamp on the bottom of the foot...

Review: Kotobukiya Axl

The X series has brought us plenty of fun and unforgettable characters over the years—whether it’s Gate’s over-the-top personality, Berkana’s striking design, or the enduring legend of Green Biker Dude. But while the series is packed with fantastic characters, if you’re not X or Zero, getting merchandise is pretty unlikely. That said, since 2003, there’s a third major character who hardly ever gets the spotlight... until now.

Kotobukiya has thrown their hat into the ring by finally bringing us the first new character in their Mega Man X  line: Axl. Is this kit worth the wait? Stick around, and we’ll dive into everything it brings to the table!

Review: Kotobukiya Mega Man X MAX Armor Triad Thunder Ver.

Of all the Special Weapons in Mega Man X3, Triad Thunder is the last one I’d have expected to see as a model kit. The effect piece would be just too big compared to something like Tornado Fang or Frost Shield. But hey, never say never with Kotobukiya! Released in October 2024, the MAX Armor Triad Thunder Ver. is another go at Mega Man X3's MAX Armor (AKA the Third Armor), this time with a brand new coloring and a massive effect piece!

Is the MAX Armor Triad Thunder Ver. worth a buy? Join me after the break, and we will break down everything there is to know about this kit!
