Capcom Japan Might Not Attend E3 2009

In fear of the recent H1N1 outbreak, (aka "swine flu") Capcom Japan is mulling over the decision to pull out of E3 2009. Apparently, the company has a new policy that restricts corporate travel during the course of the pandemic of which is slowly ravaging its way throughout Japan.

This is by no means an implication that Capcom will skip out on E3 all together -- just the folks from the Japanese branch such as our main man Keiji Inafune. (Speaking of Inafune, he too has fallen victim of Capcom's new policy as his trip to the Nordic Game Conference has been canceled)

The press is currently awaiting Capcom Japan's decision.

  3. Oh, GAWD... Over hyped crap is still crap. Swine flu is "scary" huh? It's STILL statistically less deadly than normal flu. I'm pretty sure that everyone's just overreacting to this. Heck, for all we know, this could very well be this season's version of the flu.

Way to overreact, world. Care to grow up now?

  4. That's good. I am not going if Swine Flu is around. They are smarter than USA. Health comes first.

  5. What a farce. What's the latest count, a couple hundred deaths? Meanwhile, the REGULAR flu has killed over 13,000 since January. If they'll pull out for this, they may as well pull out for the common cold. For pete's sake.

  8. @Anon #3 - Don't pull the world into this, it's the media that overhypes everything. There are still sensible people out there that can look at the facts and see through their crap.

  9. This kind of stuff scares people, especially if the media hypes it up. Well safe than sorry.
