Operate Shooting Star Website Update

At last, Capcom finally decided to give the official OSS webpage an overhaul. So far, there's nothing extraordinary on the site yet, but lots of little things to keep our appetites whet for more.
For starters, there's a pretty good amount of overworld screenshots . We've seen it all before, but never this clear. If there was any doubt before, graphically, OSS is of EXE 1 origin. The aforementioned section even offers a little bit more info behind Clock Man's motives, who is adamant on changing the course of history. Good guy or bad guy?

Next, there's two areas devoted to jogging your memory for both the happenings of the EXE and Shooting Star series. The pages offer minor background details behind both series worlds and gameplay. EXE page here, SSR here.

Over here, fans can check up on the OSS staff discussions (a blog) and send in their comments via E-mail. No region restriction, you're free to pop the staff a message, though I do suggest using a computer translator to send your text in Japanese.

More updates are expected, so check the site often!

(As a side note, the OSS page does not include the tradition "Nintendo Wifi Connection" logo. A sign of no Wi-Fi play? Coincidentally, the recent Famitsu report didn't mention Wi-Fi either...)

  1. Bahaha, I can't wait. Still epic fail for no music, but I'm happier now after seeing the site. (All the art of Netto and Rockman is making me nostalgic. :'( XD) I must say that the new Ryusei overworld sprite is bucketloads better than the midget one. I've forgiven them for using old graphics, as long as they redo the PET screen. I liked the graphics of 1-3 (minus the menus) the best.

    Hope they update it soon!

  2. Although it would have been nice for it to all be in 3D. But I'm still happy.

  3. No WiFi? Seriously? Seriously Capcom?

The one chance to slow down pirating of BN games to play online, and they decided to ruin it?

  4. still no sign of any battle shots, but some nice high quality screens :)

  5. Of course there's no Wifi. That would require putting some effort into this rip off.

  6. ITT people take a website that is basically a teaser as the be-all-end-all of what is and isn't in the game.

They've yet to announce the game's battle system; I'm not surprised they've yet to announce if there will or won't be WiFi.

  7. Don't use an online translator! If you try to do that, you'll be sending gibberish to them!

  8. Wow, really nice update! Definitely a big improvement from how it looked before. ^^U
That's weird that Capcom wouldn't include any Wi-Fi for the game. I would think it would be a perfect fit... Maybe they just "conveniently forgot" to put it up on the site? XD

  9. The famitsu report didn't hint at no wifi. It just didn't mention wifi. It's way to early for anything to be final. There may very well be no wifi, but you can bet that they're trying. It takes resources to make an online game, which means setting things up and getting them cleared with Capcom and Nintendo, etc.

It all comes down to whether the project is big enough. If capcom were smart it would pull out all the stops on this. I have a bad feeling this will be badly received by the fans, just because enough work wasn't put into it. Rest assured a good EXE comeback would sell. Whether this will be good is still up in the air. Diehard fans will still buy it, but it seems a shame to gyp them so.

Somebody forward that to Capcom for me. XD

  11. @ C - Grow up. How is a REMAKE a rip-off? Go google the meaning between Remake and Rip-off.

  12. Yes, don't use an online translator! I sent Capcom of Japan an email that I carefully kept retranslating until it sounded ok both in and out of the translator a couple times, (copied the results and translated them back to English) and sent it. They sent back an email in perfect English calling me Dennis (My name is Jack) and asking that I send my message in English. XD

  13. Too many GIF images. It was better when the site was entirely flash-based. This means I got no dirt form them.

  14. Flash-based websites are RAM intensive & aren't compatible with most features of browsers. They're never better.

What do you expect? Most of the english megaman fanbase is full of people who act like little kids if not everything is to their exact liking. And even if they are to their lking, they would still complain about every little thing.

TL;DR Most of the English megaman fanbase sucks.Alot.

  16. That was completely unnecessary and unfounded. Because it was pointed out that a wifi icon is missing from the site, the english megaman fanbase sucks a lot?

Aren't you a member of the english megaman fanbase? If you aren't, then go invade blogs in your native language.

  17. Is it just me or does SSR look really pissed on the homepage in the background?

  18. & the slopes are super awesome? Don't be a fucking racist.

Maybe, but that guy has a point. We DO complain on everything, even if it was MML3. For example, me complaining about the hobby games as a whole, even if it is Mega Man. And even if the games don't suck at all.

Besides, it's not everybody. It's just the little hobby worshipers and the always-bitchy old fans. We need an update, just like Mega Man.

  20. WHAT WILL THE TRANSFORMATIONS BE?????? It has been bugging me for so long that I think that I will explode!!! Please tell me that they won't use the armor system.

  21. DS WiFi is slow as balls anyway. They'd have to give you set folders or have huge connection times.

Free means it's not as well-funded as it could be.

Lan can Mega Merge with Omega-Xis to become a Maverick Hunter and fight against Neo Arcadian viruses... Wait, something didn't sound right.
