Extended Mega Man Universe Trailer

Here's a little something Capcom Japan whipped up. It's another trailer for Mega Man Universe that not only combines all three trailers from yesterday into a single video, but also has a few seconds of additional gameplay footage. Further, the trailer contains new music (a rock arrangement of Spark Man's theme) and a new closing message from Keiji Inafune. Check it out below:

More MMU stuff soon, hopefully. In the meantime, don't forget to have a gander at the newly released screens and artwork here.

  1. The only thing about this extended trailer that's even remotely redeeming, is that Spark Man remix.

Spark Man remix sounds nice. Curious to see what else this game has in store.

  5. Everytime I hear him say "Your World. Megafied" I feel like slapping someone.

  6. I'm gonna be a rebel and say I've actually warmed up to this game. Sure I had my doubts when I saw Ryu in the teaser but that's melted away.

This really does look like a good title.

  7. Well this music track sounds awesome!

The rockman character looks decent, and he´ll be the first i´d pick to play. The (Ruby Spears?)

Megaman....meh....i´d take it better if this model was a creation from....Britney Spears...what do you think eh?

And the american box art one....oh my god, looks like a vietnamese cosplaying around for some money.

And that cuote "your world, megafied" haha please it pretty sounds much of a MEGAFAIL.

  8. I see a lot of potential for this game, especially due to the implications of "Your World Megafied". Seriously, though, everybody here has to stop drinking their Hateorade. Not everything can be a sequel.

  9. Seriously people, stop the hate on MMU, it's driving the people who are exited for it nuts, like me!

Sparkmans theme eh, one of my favorites from Megaman 3 (my favorite from the game is Geminiman), I am so excited for what this game has in store for us.....

  10. My only problem with this so far is that Mega Man's hind leg goes way too far forward during a jump, which makes it look like crap.

  11. I just hope it isn't a full rehash of MM2, I am so sick and tired of people glorifying MM2. Yes, it is a great game, but come on, there are better bosses/levels/themes in other games in the series, throw in a little more homage to the others capcom.

  12. I think there are a few problems with these trailers as a big "reveal" trailer:

    1) There is no difference between any of the characters besides visuals, and if that actually is the only difference, then they probably should have waited until they had an overwhelming amount of characters (or tied it into other systems of the game, such as character or level customization if there is such a thing).

    2) The backgrounds look very uninspired and repetitive (which I think reinforces the possibility that it's pretty much a Mega Man Powered Up-like construction mode). I also don't think think that the "blocks" themselves look that cohesive as an overall level (too much open space, for instance).

    3) Mega Man 10 got slammed as "too much of the same thing"; this game as well seems very Mega Man 2 inspired.

    4) Too secretive about it and too much of a lead-up for the fans. At this time, we also only have 1 other known Mega Man game in development, and that's being produced by an outside Korean MMO company and probably isn't going to (shouldn't?) come to America.

I still have great hope for this game, but unless they add something interesting (play levels as vastly different character styles, or very powerful construction/environmental tools) I can't see it as becoming successful or even that good of a time. Rather than a new, exciting Mega Man game it looks like a casual "arcadey" game to pick up for a few bucks.

  13. Again with the "stop the hate" when only a few people have state that they dislike it.

    That's just as irritating! @_@

It's like this place is stuck in a rut. Comments should just be disabled.

My thoughts exactly. Well, other than Mega Man 2 being great, that is.

2 More things about MMU i thought of.
1.) It's funny (To me) that a game that was apparently designed to unite MM fans is tearing them apart.

2.) Do we know why crossovers are involved? I mean, when I see a title called "MegaMan Universe", I imediatly think of a Megaman series cross-over. What with X, Volmutt, EXE and others. Not "MegaMan and Street Fighter and Ghouls and Ghosts and... etc". So why are there other series characters?

  17. - It's not a matter of "hate it or love it", but criticism. Yeah, it's a new MegaMan game which is just getting fans quite disappointed. Graphics or gameplay, looks like:

    a) too much "secrety" around the game and its purpose/storyline;

    b) as anonymous said very well, the playable chars are pretty much the same, plus the various MM2 tiles in a stage;

    c) take care, Capcom. In fact, the first impression wasn't good enough.

    - Meh, right, it's kinda early to take some conclusion. -_-;; but yeah, a MegaMan PoweredUP 2 would be much better (out of PSP, its screen is much small).

  18. @TAG: No, I read the other post, but my point is that, regardless of how good the game is, I think they should have made a better debut trailer. Right now it seems mediocre to me, but I still feel like it would be jumping the gun a bit to totally write it off (the trailer shows nothing about how this is different from any classic Mega Man game, except for the graphics and characters which so far play exactly the same).

  19. I said what I wanted to in the previous blog entry. Sooooo...I'll use this entry to answer Keiji's question:
Who would I like to see in Mega Man Universe? Well, my answer has two parts:
Rockman characters: Diveman, Springman, Roll (that's a given), Doc Robot K-176 (playable would be fantastic! But as an enemy would also be good), maybe Topman... Oh, and Blues and Forte. Definitely Blues and especially Forte.

General Capcom characters: Well...with Knight Arthur being in there, I'm pretty happy, actually! I suppose Felicia or Bulleta/Baby Bonnie Hood from Darkstalkers/Vampire would be good, though. Blanka from Street Fighter II would be pretty funny! I'd definitely like Guy from Final Fight. And if you can get the rights, Little Nemo from the Famicom game (and comics) of the same name. Nathan "Radd" Spencer, I can take or leave. And finally, because this is how my mind works, Katt from Breath of Fire II would be freakin' awesome!

That's about all I can think of without research.

  20. Gee Krazy Monkey, no offense, but you're really making MM3 seem more overrated than it already is. "...even remotely redeeming, is that Spark Man remix." God, that was quite predictable.

  21. Why Keiji, why? I hope they paid you enough for saying "Your world megafied" to make a sequel to a game the fanbase wants. Whether it be Dash3, x9, mm11, exe7, sf4, zx3, we don't care (although the first one would be nice =])

  22. The 3 play in the same way because they are the same character, but remember: The best is always saved for the end. ;)

"Again with the "stop the hate" when only a few people have state that they dislike it."

I don't see AT ALL how what you just said ties in with this statement. You said that people shouldn't tell others to quit hatin' because not many people said that they do. And you're saying that you said that you said that to prove that people shouldn't automatically think that this game will suck. ???

  25. it looks awesome, and the song it's so cool...
    the megas rock!

  26. Well, I would be irritated that this isn't on Wii... but then I remember that I didn't really like MM9 or 10, and this seems similar. So, eh. Looks pretty, at least.

I'd be more sad if there ends up being other megamans in it. (No other capcom franchises though. That's like having Link stomp on goombas in a mario game. Bleh.)

  27. @ krazy monkey

your hatred for Megaman 2 does not surprise me, and I respect your opinion in regards to that game. I believe mm2 is widely accepted as the game that created Megaman fans not necessary the best of the series. I can speak truth to that as mm2 was the very first game I rented from blockbuster when I was 5ish years old. understanding that the weapons in mm2 are "godmode" like, I still believe it is loved for bringing in countless fans, and it is because of that, you see so many cameos with the cast of 2. personally mm3 is my favorite but I will always remember 2 for being me into the series.

  28. Despite having a half baked hind leg forward extension during a jump (seriously?) it is a tad early for me to really jump to conclusions with this. This should be a decent construction kit.

  29. The gameplay looks fun, but unfortunately the visuals look like ass.
    Not sure if want.

  32. Anonymous #8:

Actually, I'd say that Mega Man 3 is underrated. At least compared to Mega Man 2, that is. In my opinion, Mega Man 3 has outclassed Mega Man 2 in almost every possible way. From longer, better level designs, more stages, better music, and whatever else I might have missed. I honestly don't see how it's possible to prefer Mega Man 2 over that it. I've always liked Mega Man 3 (as well as 4-8) better, even before I became so biased against Mega Man 2.
