Another Look At Operate Shooting Star

The missing page from Coro Coro Comic's Operate Shooting Star coverage has surfaced courtesy of this Japanese blog. Nothing groundbreaking, just a couple additional screen shots and some nice artwork of Rockman.EXE and Netto.

And courtesy of this blog, here's some higher quality screen shots from the report:

  1. That in-game art of Netto and Rockman looks pretty cool too.

What are pink arrows singling out? The fact that it's still the original PET?

They didn't give us enough info. ._. Battle shots! We need battle shots!

  2. It seems like the old PET got a little upgrade, on the plug Lan/Netto's holding in his hand you can see MegaMan.EXE/RockMan.EXE's logo, which probably means he can switch between the two to send Geo/Subaru on the net by using the other plug (which seems to be inserted into the PET in that image. I still wonder if Geo/Subaru can change back to normal human in that time though.. The battle is hopefully gonna be 3D, regardless of which Mega/RockMan is being controlled. I think I can say ''probably'', rather than ''hopefully'', since they could just use the 3D model from Double Team DS. Still, just hopes and dreams until some screens arrive! By the way.. Would that mean that Geo/Subaru could be on the PET screen too? (BN5DS style)

  3. Can we also play as Megaman.EXE? Considering the fact that Capcom always makes more that one version of the game, maybe they will make something like Megaman Starforce: Operation Battle Network. Maybe this time Lan and Megaman.EXE can come to the future (which would be awesome)! I probably shouldn't get my hopes up though.

  5. Does anyone else see this and immediately think "w00t, they might finally make a toy of the original PET"?

  6. Better watch where you aim that gun, Megaman; you're about to shoot Harp Note.

  7. Subaru says something along the lines in the topic pic, "I came from the future... I came from 200 years in the future. I'm Rockman"

  8. @MegaMatt: I'd love that, but I doubt it. The toys were branded for the show, and even if they were for the games, I don't think there will be much merchandise for this game. It's a small revival, but still past the heydays.

So, "MegaMan WIFI" gets sucked into a time portal (or something) and goes 200 years into the past? Okay....Not liking the sound of this. And I really don't like it that they're actually using EXE 1 graphics. I hated them! But I'm going to get the game anyway. I might end up liking it.

  10. Th Ryusei Rockman sprite looks like a doofus from behind. It's the hair and the little helmet strap thing.

  11. Looks like even the mugshots went back to BN1-3 style. When they had no borders. Maybe mugshots will look a little more detailed now that they won't be wasting one color on every sprite for a colored frame. The message box is definitely from BN1. And there is still no indication of HP. I'm starting to think this is a very raw port.

  12. @ Roy L: Where are you getting this? I don't see EXE's emblem on the plug... And what other plug? That's the same plug looping around.

  13. A VERY raw port. Dissapointment.

  14. Wow...That's it? I mean, I'd already made fun of this for being a stupid idea / insult to the fans but this is the first time I actually bothered to look at the screen shots.

...Damn, Capcom. You guys aren't even PRETENDING to do more than phone it in.

  15. Here's my predictions for this game:

--Most reviewers will give it a low score due to claims that the series is repetitive, stale, and clearly the work of lazy developers trying to make a quick buck with little effort.
--Those claims will be absolutely valid.
--Nonetheless, I will download the game and enjoy it, relishing in the fact that I didn't have to pay anything except time.

Just like with all Star Force games and the later half of the Battle Network series.

  18. Don't complain about the no HP thing.

It's a very integral part of the story system and the selling point.

    1. It made this game easier for people to get into.

    2. The story adds accumulated Damage after Lan install the Hub.bat.

    3. In BN2 we start having the Health accumulation and Subchip systems implemented due to the Hub.bat.

  19. You guys are so ungrateful. At least you are getting something. All of you are making the game sound bad. We havn't even recived decent info yet (like battle shots). I am also sure that Capcom is also going to have a very good use for the touch screen. We also are not seeing the HP because most of these shots are showing cut screens or something is covering up the top-left corner (or it is useing the map function). You guys really shouldn't just jump to a conclusion yet. I mean many people hated the idea of Shooting Star Rockman 3, but look at how it turned out! It was an awesome game that Capcom put a lot of hard work in.

  20. I don't seem to remember that thing with the Hub Batch.

The first point is no good since this is no longer the first game. It was primarily there because they didn't think that was the best way or hadn't thought of it, not to ease people into the series. Now we've all gotten used to both the EXE and RnR system of having the HP memorized, so it should be that way. We're already eased in.
