Interesting Mega Man 9 Easter Egg

Discovered by Capcom Unity forumgoer Alexis:

On the left, Dr. Light's lab from Mega Man 9. The right, the intro cutscene from Mega Man 4. Depicted in both shots is the device used to transform Rock into Mega Man.

Mind=blown

The final MM9 secret, perhaps?

Are those perhaps backwards?

Or should I say berhaps packwards?

That's kinda strange. I noticed it there the very first time I played Mega Man 9. I thought it was one of those special touches they put in the game honouring the old games. I really doubt that the would be the final secret though. It will be something kinda small and obvious, but I really don't think that it's just one of the many references to the original games.

If that's the secret, that's lame....

Ah, that's better. :)

Well, Seth did say those of us looking for the secret were looking too hard & not hard enough for it. I'm NOT saying this is it, rather it may be a hint of how easy (like Oren) or how hard (like myself, because I never noticed it til now) it could be for different people.

i also noticed it the first time playing the game. it stuck out like a sore thumb because its in Mega Man 4, where its in the intro and the first game ive played and owned for the series. ive repicated a version similar to this one years ago for a fan game im making. as far as secrets go, i doubt this is it in terms of what seth is talking about. too simple and not anything really imo. at this point it might as well be so we can move on with our lives.

I'm going to laugh my ass off if this is revealed to be the super secret Mega Man 9 secret.

I think it's just kind of a "slow news day" and for those of us who compulsively check the site, he wants to whet our appetite.

I...that's...kinda obscure?

But it makes sense. That'd be neat if it were true. I've been working on a theory that the Moon and three asteroids in the first screen of Galaxy Man's stage arranged in a paw shape means to use Rush.

...probably not right.

Nice find - I certainly didn't pick up on it! Seth has yet to make a comment on it, so it probably isn't our mysterious secret, but...you never know.

I did like the idea that one of the people on the message board had about the Wii/XBox/PS3 system clock being set to 2010 or later affecting something in the game, due to Rockman 9's story being set in 20XX. I doubt that would do anything, but you never know, and right now I'm too lazy to try it! :P

I said this already on another message board. Everyone ignored me, though.
