Rockman 10 Soundtrack Coming March 23rd (Updated)

Shinseido Shopping is offering pre-orders for a Rockman 10 CD soundtrack, slated to release March 23rd for 2,500 Yen ($27.00 USD). No other details are known at the moment, but I suspect we'll be learning more about it from Inti Creates soon enough.

Perhaps the soundtrack's release date points to a more specific release for Rockman 10? Closer to, or on March 23rd?

  3. Heh, I sure hope this gets leaked and ripped before the game's release date, just like Mega Man 9's back in 2008.

  4. Same here Anonymous 1 and 2. I love the music from the Mega Man games. The music is what sets apart the Mega Man games from everything else.

  7. Does anyone remember when Mega Man 9's Soundtrack came out in comparison to Mega Man 9's release? That may give us a bit of a clue.

  8. And of course, since it's Inti Creates, we'll get an arranged soundtrack as well.

    Nice. :D

  9. Rockman 9 soundtrack was released few weeks earlier than the game.

  10. Well, it couldn't be that much earlier. It's supposed to come out in March.

  11. Yeah I don't think so either. If I remember correctly the Rockman 9 soundtrack came early September and Mega Man 9 came late September.

Hopefully the game would be released a little before the soundtrack 'cause I couldn't avoid listening the songs before the game's out. But then the soundtrack wouldn't sell that well so probably not.

  12. I just saw that on the site myself, and if I'm reading it right, it'll have 46 tracks - 16 more than the Megaman 9 soundtrack CD had. So this is likely going to be a nice long game.

  13. 'Inti Bonus Disc vol1' isn't (currently) a purchasable item, it's a limited item for buying from e-Capcom.

  14. I guess "Cybersheep's Dream" confirms that SheepMan is, indeed, based on that novel.

  16. 1) That cover is EPIC.

    2) The soundtrack having 46 tracks gives me hope that this is in fact a longer, meatier game than Mega Man 9 was. I would have guessed it wasn't since Time Attack mode is back, and of course we can't be sure of anything either way, but this definitely gives me hope. I doubt they're going to fill the soundtrack up with remixes (since it's an OST), so I imagine all 46 tracks must be from Rockman 10 proper.

    JDAManson -

What novel? As I understood it, the concept of lightning/thunder-wielding sheep came from Nigerian folklore.

  17. HOLY SHIT, EVEN UCHIYAMA FROM MM8 IS HELPING!

If every MM composer is helping, then this soundtrack is going to be...REALLY DIFFERENT.

    It's official. I. CAN'T. WAIT!

  18. An addendum to my previous comment:

The cover art for the Rockman 10 OST helps support my hopes for a longer, deeper game too. The cover art for the Rockman 9 OST was little more than a giant 8-bit Mega Man sprite laid on top of a bunch of smaller 8-bit Mega Man sprites which, like pretty much all Mega Man 9-related media, just advertised the fact that Mega Man 9 was bringing things back to basics and a retro aesthetic. Mega Man 9 seemed to be mostly (or only) about that: bringing things back to basics, making another Mega Man 2. For that reason, Mega Man 9 didn’t really have its own identity.

But with the Rockman 10 OST, you see a giant Mega Man and Proto Man standing above planet Earth with space as a backdrop, which immediately calls to mind the game’s subtitle, “Threat from Outer Space.” Again, this gives me hope that Capcom is really trying to make a NEW Mega Man game this time around, one with its own identity — an identity apart from another remake of Mega Man 2, which is overrated anyway IMO.

Of course, I could just be overthinking things, and Mega Man 10 will have the same skeleton as Mega Man 9, re-skinned with new stages, music, cutscenes, and Robot Masters. I really hope not, though.

  19. @MaverickHunterAsh: He's saying Sheep Man is a reference to the novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?", due to his electrical weapon and his cyberspace-esque stage.

  20. The cover is reminiscent of MM6, even though the theme is more along the lines of MM8.

It seems like this "third" character is being shafted from all the promotional art. Unless, of course, that mysterious figure from the Gerald de Jesus artwork is the supposed third charcter.
