Mega Man X Regenesis Fan-Game Now Available to Download

Mega Man X Regenesis, a new fan-game inspired by the SNES-era Mega Man X titles, is now available as a free download.

Set in an alternate timeline following the original Mega Man X, Regenesis imagines a world where Sigma won, X fell and humanity is nearing extinction. As a last resort, Dr. Cain activates "Project Regenesis," giving X another chance to change the course of history.

It includes eight original Mavericks, new Special Weapons, armor upgrades, an achievement system and more than 25 original music tracks. Visually, it stays close to the SNES games with hand-crafted pixel art, while adding a few modern touches and extra detail.

Mega Man X Regenesis is available now for Windows, Android and Steam Deck/Linux, with a Mac version planned for later. You can check out Mega Man X Regenesis and download it here!

    1. Okay, the catch is it's buggy AF, so heads-up

    2. I see what you mean. Not only doesn't it work on my Android device, but even on the PC version, I can't even get it past the damn Capcom logo splash screen. It crashes within seconds of trying.

  3. So far I've tried this on Android. Worked flawlessly with GameSir X5S. Past the intro level with no trouble.

I went to Skyblade Squirrel level, and got stuck in the damage animation. Hope this helps.

  4. fan games i definitely feel a lot more lenient towards compared to something with more money put behind it or something you have to buy, that being said you have to buy the capsule upgrades in this game and that feels weird.
