“We are ROCK-MEN! 2″ Gets Battle Network and Star Force Tunes

A short while back, we caught word that Capcom's in-house sound team were gearing up to produce “We are ROCK-MEN! 2." Though we're still without a track list, Capcom of Japan’s summary of the new CD reveals brings some rather tantalizing news:

"On top of a foundation of classic Mega Man and Mega Man X tunes blasted in rock and techno, there are richly arranged tracks from series up to Battle Network and Star Force adding to the variety!

Yep; Battle Network AND Star Force arrangements. We've been long overdue for some of those, so this should come as good news for fans of both series. Hopefully, we'll be treated to some nice samples soon!

We are "ROCK-MEN! 2" is due out in Japan on December 19th.

  1. Well now this is interesting news. BN and SF are getting the love. Hoping for a newtwork reboot Capcom?

But at the same time, the lack of Zero and ZX shows the really don't care for the timeline after X. Perhaps a back to basics focus is at hand?

  2. Maybe the Viz license finally went belly up.

Here's hoping for an arrange of Great Battlers from Battle Network 3.

  3. if it includes the stuff from that gamecube game Battle Networks Transmission, then hooray. If not, then I don't really care. I never cared much for the music from those two games.

  4. I dunno if this is an indication of something larger; what surprises me is that BN and SF are there at all (copyright issues and whatnot). Hopefully the associated remixes will be worth listening to. :)

  6. I still say they should do a cover of "We Are Rockman" just to mess with everyone's heads. "[redacted] a blond ho" indeed.

  7. This doesn't have much to do with this particular post but whatever. I need Capcom to make a BN collection. I frickin' miss playing the games I grew up with that aren't very easy to find for a reasonable price anymore.

Oh, interesting. While I'm with Anon1 about the disappointing lack of Zero and ZX (I'd love a Falling Down and Snake Eyes mix!), it's refreshing to see something other than freaking Classic and X for once.

Personally, I'm hoping for tunes from EXE2 and 5, which had my favorite songs, and from SF3, which is the only one that had a (pardon the pun) stellar soundtrack IMO.

  9. YES! This is what we EXE and Starforce fans have been waiting for! But really I would like Capcom to just continue both series

I'm so excited for this! I loved the first one - and I already love BN and SF a lot.
