Rock Coliseum In Action

An overlooked addition to Rockman EXE: Operate Shooting Star is the all new multiplayer mode, Rock Coliseum.  Here, up to six plays can join in wirelessly (only one game cart. required) and duke it out head-to-head or engage in cooperative play.  For those who've yet to experience this neat mode for themselves, check out the video below to see it in action:

The goal in this particular mode is to defeat Forte in the allotted time. Forte chases you throughout the field, and you must avoid him using a barrage of items such as bombs and traps. When two or more players play, things become a lot more hectic as you scurry to not be the player targeted by Forte's attacks.  If you're hit, you have to wait it out until another player revivse you before you can get back in the fight.  In single player, however, once you're down, you're down for good. Game over.

It's a lot of fun, and I truly hope that this mode is expanded upon in the future; would have been great to have Wifi play or a better variety of items.

  1. It looks fun for more players. It's kind of lame how they just float over the dash panels instead of using those dashing sprites that were never used.

  2. Looks fun. I find it amusing it's using the final boss music of RNR1.

  3. A bad name (dkiller13 hahaha) for a bad game (why not a exe 7? for me star force is not next Exe!!!)....music from Star force??? What a shame!

  4. It's Final boss music of RNR2. They should have used more RNR3. RNR generally has better music than EXE because of technical limits..

  5. Wouldn't it be cool if instead of being an almost-straight port with minigames as an extra, it was a revamped game with these new game mechanics during the game? I'd like to spice up the usual pace of the game scenarios with more action oriented missions like the ones on the new minigames

  7. 4000 HP?

Does Bass.EXE get a boost in the main game, too?

Because EXE1's PA's weren't that powerful. I'd have to do some elemental fandangling to do that kind of damage, especially now that all chips including HeroSwrd will be further limited.

  9. Rockmanexe had better musics than Star Force, musics of Star force are very bad and simple.

Rockman exe 4,5 et 6 final boss theme and ennemy battle, and there are a lot of good theme, say me the good themes of Star Force, it's a joke.

You have never given me a reason to strongly disagree with you before now, Megarock. :( How you can like RnR's music better is beyond me. Technical limitations my ass.

Not bad. I also like the look of the logo. I might get this game after all.

About the music thing, there are technical limitations on Game Boy Advance music. Just compare BN5 to BN5: Double Team DS and it's obvious. RnR's music does have an advantage because the games are on the DS. Whether or not the songs themselves are better is another matter. Personally, I prefer EXE's music, but RnR does have some catchy tunes, especially in RnR2. (I haven't played RnR3 yet.)
