Rockman EXE Operation Shooting Star TGS Trailer *UPDATE*

Straight from the Tokyo Game Show showroom floor, the debut trailer for Operate Shooting Star:

Points of interest:

- Remixed version of theme song
- Game will feature voice acting snippets. Voice work can be heard during the "Jack-in" sequence and in-battle.
- Footage of "Rockman Coliseum", a six player mini-game, at 1:52.
- SSRockman and Rockman EXE can be seen attacking Clock Man simultaneously. Probably a Program Advance...

UPDATE: Courtesy of The Mega Man Network, here's a subtitled version of the trailer:

  1. Ah, ha! Fresh from the Famitsu channel. They stealthily made the videos public right when the Sony keynote started, and someone on NeoGAF noticed.

Anyways, looks rather neat. Looks like all of that Subaru stuff is likely to be post-game content. Still buying the game, as I've never played EXE 1.

Shouldn't be too long before demo videos start showing up too.

  2. I have never played EXE, seems its time for me to see what it was like... Lol

I really liked the sprites now that i have seen them and the remixed music = SMEX

That was a GREAT trailer, I don't think they could have made it better.... unless they were to add wifi, but I am not nearly as angry about that now. Lol

  3. why is shadowman in it, why would they show a secret boss?

  4. about the double attack... it's probably a program advance

  5. That...was nice. I mean, interestingly nice. But I just can't stop imagining Geo shouting at EXE "it is your destiny!", a la Quint xD

BTW, does someone knows what the last 10 seconds means? It seems like...nah, can't be what I'm thinking.

  7. I love the remixed music.

That crossover is most likely going to be a Program Advanced although I'm guessing there's going to either add new chips in order to do the program advance o.o

  8. Oh my... Sky Colisseum looks really interesting. Too bad it's only local wireless...

you're right about that SSRockman and Rockman.EXE Double attack. To me it resembles the Double Hero program advance so maybe they replaced Blues with SSRockman in that PA (at least that's what it looks like). The game looks fun, in fact in comparison to the original EXE 1, it looks a lot better. I can't wait for it. The only thing not shown in the trailer that I am curious about is the PET screen. I wonder how its going to work in comparison to EXE 5 DS. But that doesn't really matter. Wi Fi or not this game is going to be awesome. Also an added plus, the area's are named and you get a map. That made navigation a (whole)lot easier.

According to the trailer ACDC area 1 is where the two Rockmen will meet (and fight?) when they first encounter each other. I can't wait. I'm going to import this game and buy it again if Capcom USA picks it up and its not a Japan exclusive like EXE 4.5.

I've played EXE 1 and loathed it, but looking at EXE OSS's trailer, I LOVE IT! Capcom did an excellent job with the trailer.

  10. I've also notice although I'm not sure but it in the trailer it kinda sounds like the game has some voice acting kinda like EXE5 TL DS.

  11. Oops... I meant Rockman Coliseum...

  12. Huh? Wait, what? What was with the last bit at the end? Was that DarkRock/DarkMega? If not, what was it? Anyone got the translation for that last bit?

  13. @Role

you're right. that does look like DarkMega. I'm also curious about that last bit of the trailer.

  14. I wonder if the crossover could turn into a remake of the whole series on DS. But it probably won't happen...! (;>_>)

  15. weirdly enough the mega man exe in the last 10 seconds is mmbn2 art hinting at a sequel already?

i really hope they include lock enemy sub chips finding bosses was a pain in mmbn1

Bass was in there too, he was secret in this game as well. I don't know why they showed them though.

I'm still thinking they might add the other exe games.. As you see dark megaman and hear the ticking of a clock.. Although I'm probably just hoping too much.

  17. Role:

I kind of don't know japanese, but the things I picked up from my japanese animus, help me understand that. It said something like "Hear the voice of time. Now EXE is reborn."
    So, nothing important really.

  18. That definitely looked like the Double Hero PA, complete with a combination of slashes Warrock and buster shots from RockMan EXE. It seems very likely that, like another poster said, Double Hero was made to feature S.S. RockMan instead of Blues. I never played the Sky High Colosseum, is what was shown of the RockMan Colosseum the same sorta thing?

Another thing that stood out noticeably to me: GutsMan *! Hopefully that means we get V1 * code Navi Chips like in EXE6, those were a great idea.

While that art at the end was used circa EXE4, I don't think it's Dark RockMan-- beyond the whole evil look to it, it doesn't even really match the Dark RockMan's color scheme. But that would make for an interesting scenario if it is.

Still no other new characters besides ClockMan... I really do hope there's more.

  19. Well, everything does look interesting, and the whole minigame thing actually surprised me as I very much enjoyed the sky coliseum in SF2. This should be fun I guess but the lack of wifi is forever more disapointing. Let's hope this actually sells well enough for us to get a remake of exe 2 and quite possibly, wifi. Then, we can finally play or rather battle each other via wifi, exe style. I would so love that.

  20. What a crap trailer.. No anime in it ? Sighing

  21. Yeah was that RockMan DS there at the end. This game might just have some potential.

  22. That art existed before Dark Rockman did. It was just an awesome style of art that we didn't see often in later promo material.

I wasn't too fond of the remixed battle music. Too empty or something. I want epicness like the remixed EXE4 battle music. :D

  23. I wouldn't hold my breath for the remixed music and voice overs being in the game. I mean, they COULD be, but many times in japanese game commercials, they add in special effects on top of things. Kinda how the Rockman X3 SNES commercials had these sweet videos that never saw the light of day outside of the commercial.

Okay, I was disappointed about the way this "remake" was going, but I have to admit that trailer made the game look pretty interesting. The remixed music is cool, too. I may buy this after all.

  26. - Weak. Yes, it's just Ryuusei no Rockman being pushed back to the roots of Rockman.EXE. Looks like such formula may boost up the francishing..?

    - Really, nothing new for old Rockman.EXE players. The SSRockman is a twist I believe: extra scenes or a side story, plus a brand new multiplayer game (I wonder why mulitplayer is really highly requested though).

  28. @Hypercoyote: Don't be absurd, the sound effects were in there. Especially since they did the same thing with 5's port to the DS.

  29. Let's not forget the awesome remix of the intro stage of MM7 that was in the Japanese commercial only.

  30. All's I'm saying is don't get your hopes up for stuff heard in the commercial. I could be wrong, but I've seen it many times before.

    ReplyDelete
  31. True. That art was used early.

It looks interesting. At least I may be able to enjoy the multiplayer but it's always the fun multi-player game like that which never goes WiFi. That's a mistake. The sprites will be fun to rip. And something seems different about some sounds. Were those enhanced?

  32. I miss platform Mega Man games :*(

  33. It still seems weird that the HP counters are so misplaced. O_o Nice to see Blues in the coliseum thing.

I think it's funny that they say you can relive the dream of the EXE/Ryusei crossover, when this is definitely waaay below the dreams of 100% of the EXE fans who wanted a revival. :P Alright alright, a return to EXE1 is not a bad idea. Could have been a great one! Except this is just so... barebones.

But we've harped on that enough. Just nice to have the old pallies back. Seems strange (not to mention a bad business move) to not have online multiplayer. Just furthers our suspicion that this is a low-budget title (wifi stuff costs) for milking the franchise. Still makes one wonder why they made such a big deal out of it though. :\ If I were in charge of the team I'd petition Capcom for a big enough budget to completely redo the entire thing. "Reborn" my arse.

  34. Aw, so ClockMan really is a bad guy?

  35. I remember that art. It was when the revival of Megaman in EXE form was a little more mysterious and epic. They definitely conveyed an epic feel in that picture, and they went a bit overboard with the cyberyness of it by making his eyes glow and stressing the darker tones. Some nice art, there.
