The collector in me is going to buy one. But I don't plan to read it. I still haven't read the preview...
ReplyDeleteGot delayed in México
ReplyDeleteThought I'd come back and leave my thoughts for any who were curious about the first issue
ReplyDeleteI feel a bit mixed on it honestly on the positive side I like Kenny Ruiz's art looks vibrant and fun I think stands out well amongst the other adaptations the classic series has gotten, I also appreciate the fact that they're starting from a later point in the series, glad to see the new guys get some love :) (and on the physical side the print quality is nice).
On the criticisms side I felt like the writing could be a bit tighter (No spoilers) but it just feels a bit flat at the moment and this could be in part due to the short length needing things to be kinda rushed, but I wish they took advantage of the team up between Blast & Torch and let the characters bounce off each other more dynamically instead of the banter just feeling like page filler.
Nitpicks:
I feel like the way this miniseries is being handled seems to kinda be leaving people confused on to whether or not to expect these to be one offs or the stories to be continued directly later.
Definitely doing their own take on the story for 11, not bothered by that myself but I know some people prefer more direct adaptations so just figured i'd note it.
I feel like 4 front to back ad pages is a bit much I promise we know about the street fighter comics Udon lol
