Capcom Talks Likelihood Of Mega Man 10 On PC

With Mega Man 10 on the verge of release, one wonders if the title will grace the PC in the foreseeable future. Christian Svensson, Capcom’s Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development, recently answered a fan's inquiry regarding the issue over at Capcom-Unity...

"As most folks know, I'm a huge PC gamer and advocate of PC gaming in general. That said, even I will admit, there probably isn't a sizable enough audience for EVERY game on every platform. I'm struggling to see a large enough audience for MM9/10 on PC that doesn't also own one of the consoles that content is available for.

That said, you never know when someone will get a desire to make it."

Personally, I believe there is a certain group who would appreciate MM10 and MM9 PC ports, like those who don't own current-gen home consoles and get their game on strictly through the PC -- but, as Mr. Svensson noted, is that a big enough audience? What's your stance on the issue?

  1. Putting it on Steam for Ten bucks? I'm sure people would flock to it.

  2. If there's a way to mod the game so that you can change the graphics or the music or something, then I'm all for it coming to the PC!

  3. Honestly, its a no-brainier to earn some cash money. Would it be that hard to repurpose it for a PC?

I think the ol' Blue Bombers been around long enough that the master race would accept it whole heartedly.

  5. Well I have no Next Gen console nor wireless internet. So I can truly say that MM10 on PC would be cool.

I just gotta remove some space on this laptop...

  6. @Rags: That's actually a really good idea =o I can see it happening already. Though I'm sure these games would play better with a (USB) controller, rather than keyboard, I suck at playing with keyboard. (I already have 9 for wii anyway, but it's still a good idea.) Problem solved? :P

  7. Call me stubborn, but I kind of like the idea of having it stay on consoles. There were PC versions of some of the earlier MM games, but Megaman's true home is on consoles (and arguably with a classic D-pad). This revival of the 8-bit-egaman should stay on consoles. :)

It would be almost like having Mario Galaxy for PC.

  8. I dont think it will never happen for PC... They always talk in fantasy and never happened to other games that might port to PC before. It will never happen at all! I think they prefer tradition remain on consoles not pc.

  9. Well i think its ok cuz Megaman X series has a pc version so maybe they can do it too in Megaman and theres gonna be alot of mod version like the Street Fighter IV....

  10. On PC? Megaman X is ok but Megaman, this is only ok for those for PC people only or people whose a collector so they can have all the version of the game....

  11. I'd preorder it the second I saw it.

  12. Oh man, I would buy this on Steam in a heartbeat - even after I buy it on WiiWare

  13. I'd especially love to see Mega Man 9 makes its way to the PC, mainly because of the fact that truly high-quality screenshots could be taken, and the rest of the game's sprites and tilesets could be ripped.

  14. Seeing as I don't have a Wii, 360 or PS3, I'd love to see MM9/10 on PC.

  15. I'd like to see a PC port of 9 and 10, just so someone could port it to the PSP. I've got 1-MM&B on the go, I'd love to have the other 2 to finish off the collection.

Heck just make the PSN version PS3/PSP. Capcom was showing lots of Mega Man love for the PSP (powered up, maverick hunter, legends 1&2) then nothing. Bring that love back

  17. I would buy it in a heartbeat. I don't own any current-generation consoles, and I play a lot of games on the PC. If it were on Steam they could control the appropriation of it (it would not be possible to pirate). It would give it a massive audience.

  18. Just imagine the kind of things that could be done if the game's sprites, tilesets, and everything could be ripped from the game, like this amazing fangame idea that I came up with back in 2008:

...And all I would need to do after that, is simply learn how to use Game Maker or some other fangame making program.

  19. I would buy it off Steam in an instant - especially because the Wii is fair game in my home, but I can use my own card and my own computer to hog stuff for PC and not have t'share...

  20. No mm9/mm10 for pc? Ok, Dolphin, do your job!

  21. If the PC version was a straight port, I'd get that one first for sure.

  22. I came across Mega Man on the PC, through Mega Man X. All my life, until I recently bought a Nintendo DS, Mega Man has been a PC franchise for me. Yes, it may not be quite as good as most consoles, but it must be realized that many gamers around the world have no consoles whatsoever. It may not seem like it, but on the international market, PCs are at least universal, compared to consoles who focus their efforts on big countries such as USA, Japan, Australia, and the European Countries. Thus, having it on the PC would open the market, surely.

  23. I defending the probabilities of megaman for pc
c'mon for the megamans 9 and 10 for pc

  24. Hell yes! Whether on steam, or purchase from the Capcom site itself, I support Mega Man 9 and 10 for PC.

I don't have a 360,PS3,or a Wii. I don't want another console, really. I don't have 300$ to dump into one, then pay more for perifrials, just to replace them all in another year or more.

    MEGAMAN FOR PC!
