Droitclair Becomes Playable in Rockman X DiVE This Week

First revealed roughly a month ago in story mode chapter seventeen, Droitclair is - surprise - poised to join the game's roster this week.

Find all the details after the break!

Droitclair was subject of debate within the Mega Man community. Some fans felt her design was too far removed from what's expect of typical Mega Man character design. Many argued she wasn't robotic enough; others were receptive to her being different from the norm.  Now that we've seen the full design, what do you think?

Anyway, Droitclair first active skill is Evil Calling. The skill unleashes an evil spirit to deal damage and marks the target at the same time. Her second active skill is Evil Spirit Barrier -- a barrier that resist damage and deals damage to any target it touches.

One of her passive skills will give her a chance to unleash an evil spirit that will deal damage to the target. Another of her passive skills will releases shots of Giant Evil Spirits when her HP is below 35%

Can't say I'm not surprised about the character becoming playable soo soon. Perhaps Angie and Erato will have a similar fate?

  2. Strange how the head and the shoulders are the only humanoid parts in her,yet she looks so human and far from reploid generic look,i guess she was more of a try from the devs to see if the fans would like such original characters, hope they learn from their mistake, but to be honest she is kinda cute,i can feel tron bonne's and Harley Quinn personalities fusioned

    1. I think it's because the only reploidesque part of her is her boots. she just looks like a girl wearing clothes and has reploid boots. she looks like armorless rock out of the classic series.

  3. Spirits? I mean sure we've got stuff like cyber elves and the like, but really?

    1. I know it's not the same, but I can't help but think of Skull Man's barrier...

  4. Maybe it's just because I've come to expect certain design conventions when it comes to the series, but aside from maybe the boots this really doesn't look like a Megaman X character to me.
It's not a bad design at all, but if someone showed me a picture of Droitclair and asked me to guess which series she's from then Megaman wouldn't be my first guess.

  5. Now with her legs and forearms visible, she looks a bit better than she used to. Her dress still looks too much like normal cotton, though.

  6. berkana when? we have a witch themed character already in the series that would make a great playable character

  7. Her design is still trash. Also, those sleeves just further reinforce my comment about her looking like a rejected vocaloid. Hell, she may as well be an emo Miku Hatsune at this point.

I have zero hopes for Angie and Erato. I'm so sick and tired of these weeb moe designs that appeal to creepy basement-dwelling incels who enjoy lolis. Keisuke Mizuno is OFFICIALLY my least favorite artist for the X series. What a damn shame.

    1. Actually, Keisuke-san doesn't draw art for DiVE aside from some promotional anniversary artworks. I've heard that other artists that can mimic his artstyle draw the illustrations instead.

Also I saw Angie's sprite in a datamine and I can't say it's bad. He's definitely more Rockman-like than his sister but still not ideal.
But I have no hopes towards Erato being better. She seems to be a fusion between an angel and a demon to me from her siblings' concept alone.

    2. Keisuke definitely draws the art, but I don't think he specifically designs the characters.

People need to learn to separate art and character design. I too agree with the hatraed of most original XDiVE designs, but Keisuke is still a beast artist.

  8. You could easily say Ferham doesn't look much like an MMX character either, but nobody minds her.

I think the REAL problem people have, that they don't want to say out loud, is that she looks like a fetishized underage anime girl. To which I say "welcome to Gacha, buddy".

  9. Quick things to note:

    1. Ryuji Higurashi designed her.
    2. She wasn't supposed to look like a Mega Man character.
