Rockman X DiVE Welcomes 2022 With "New Year Iris"

A new year is about to start and with it, the return of the "Auspicious of the New Year" event stage. What's more, on the heels of New Year Cinnamon, the first new playable character for 2022 is New Year Iris.

Find all the details after the break!

New Year Iris' first active skill is Demon-Breaking Arrow. It shoots an arrow that renders the enemy immobile. The skills card will allow the skill to remove buff or status enhancements.

Her second active skill is New Year's Dawn, which deals continuous damage and restores HP. The skills card will grant a chance to become immune to different status alignments.

Lastly, one of her passive skills will allow New Year Iris to gain enhanced defense at the beginning of a stage. Another passive skill will allow her to gain enhanced attack after the previous buff wears off.

The gacha banner and the rerun of the Auspicious of the New Year event stage will begin this Wednesday through January 5.

  1. I'm so happy for seeing a new iris, as an Iris fan i understand the public opinion about iris getting to much alts but why everyone forgot about Bass.EXE, also the last iris alt which is more of an original character iris another was released 8 months ago,i hope i see more positive feedbacks, i just hate negative in general

    1. The thing is Bass EXE got a load of different forms in the games proper. Just like X, Zero or Mega Man him getting several forms was par for the course (and even then he is only at 3 versions in a year the last of which came long after people complained about Iris and also drew complaints of its own). Sure Iris is a beloved character, but she got (excluding this one) 3 characters and a skin + Iris Another (which is still a Iris Variation) in less than a year even though and was featured in several Holliday events when many other characters, including popular ones, didn't even get one. She got 2 to 3 form in canon (including the mecha in her boss fight). I like Iris and X4, but there definitely was a overfocus on her back there.
Not trying to be negative (i have many negative things to say about this game, it's not really about this or that character getting to many alts), but the complaints didn't come out of nowhere.

    2. I don't like whining and rude comments in general, because this poor form IMO, but i think negative feedback when formulated with valid arguments is necessary.
If something is done wrong or could be done better, then it should be said or it'll never improve .
And in Xdive case, i think the game would really benefit from listening to some remarks people have been making for months now. Ignoring trolls, baseless criticism or haters is one thing, but putting on blinders and blocking any form of reactions other than unanimous praise is another (which sadly i think Xdive's dev team is doing to a extent).

  2. There was also Berkana from Xtreme 2, notable as one of the very few truly villainous women in the entire franchise. Illumina from X6 was also female, but you couldn't tell just by looking at her. There were also plans for some in X2 that got ditched, and while the navigator concept didn't make it too far, I'm kinda glad we didn't get the female X-Hunter, because otherwise Nintendo would have thrown a fit about her. I even feel like Iris's death was kind of a way of saying "We ain't on the Nintendo kiddy toys no more!"

  3. Yooo, she's a miko! She looks so good! I really like this design a lot.

Shame she costs $5,000.00 USD, depending on one's luck~

  4. I'm glad Capcom Taiwan shows Iris some love, because none of the licensed merchandise makers do. Besides, say what you want about the number of Iris alts, at least their designs are dignified. I enjoy my waifu cheese as much as the next guy, but some of the other alts are a bit too obvious in what they were aiming for.

  5. I don't care about female this, female that, it's freaken Mega Man, the absolute SICKEST sci-fi android based series to ever exist. Just give me some cool s***!

A freaken Iris in whatever garb she is in up there is like the antithesis of cool android s***. You guy's do realize this is the same series with Ultimate Armor X and Cyber Beast Gregar Rockman.EXE forms in it right?

And to those saying this is just par for the course for anime/style IPs that do these type of mobile games. No, it doesn't have to be. Dragon Ball, Fist of the North Star, Mobile Suit Gundam are some giant examples of franchises that went mobile successfully without falling into waifu bikini skin traps as a general thing and having their traditional appeal carry them.

    1. Final Fantasy Record Keeper was a good one. You can get every character easily. The weapons was were the gacha played into it. I quit because of the addictive nature (f2p tho) and constant p2w difficulty curve.

Spin it how you wish. Gacha is disgusting.

    2. There are some IP like Metal Slug that seem to alternate between both.

  6. Illumina was female?
It always looked like one of those Moai heads to me.
