Teppen's Latest Card Pack Brings RiCO to the Game

The final act of Teppen's "War of the Goddess" trilogy is due on March 1st and it brings a new card pack called "Defying the Light". As always, there's plenty of amazing artwork to look forward to. But this time is special. Rockman X DiVE's very own navigator, RiCO, is jumping from the Deep Log to the Land of Illusion!

Find all the details after the break!

Following the official website preview of this new card pack published a few days ago, the news broke during today's Teppen Headline.

RiCO will join Teppen on March 1st in the form of at least two cards with another extra card expected to arrive in April (pictured above) when new supplemental cards will be released.

This marks the third time RiCO has appeared in a game outside of Rockman X DiVE. She first appeared as a playable character in Tower of Saviors and later was part of the crossover story in Shironeko Project.

What's more? RiCO isn't the only thing Mega Man fans can look forward. Mac from Mega Man X3 will star in a few cards, X will wield Zero's Buster, and the modified Death Rogumer will fly the skies again, among other surprises.

As always, we'll bring you all the card artwork and flavor text when the time is right! Meanwhile, let us know what you think. Do you fancy X and Zero's Teppen designs will be playable in Rockman X DiVE one day?

  1. We may be getting closer to seeing RiCO in canon.

    1. Wouldn't work without retconing her character completely.
Would rather see Nana return anyway.

    3. My peripheral understanding is RiCO exists in an either an alternate or the real world while X and co are only data treated as video game characters in that world. Or some such stupid bullshit. So yea, they would have to come up with an entirely different story for her.

But like Sprite says, X9 ain't happening so it's moot. I think that is a safe bet, at this point.

    5. X9 isn't happening because that would be one of many smart decisions Capcom can make. Always bet on stupid. Whatever they are doing (if that is even still a thing, I'm not convinced) is gonna be something out of left field. Because stupid.

They are too busy milking Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Monster Hunter anyway to care. Also, keep an eye on Capcom Taiwan. I imagine they will be having some real big problems this year. We shall see, but it doesn't look good.

    7. Then how would one explain 11? It's one thing to dismiss it as "too conservative", but another to not consider it for the future at all.

    8. 11's in the past. I'm just guessing what's in the immediate future. But in all honesty, it would be great to be proven wrong.

    11. The only thing I didn't like about MHX is they did Dr. Cain dirty. They changed his story too much.

    12. About continuing the old timeline, I get the feeling they may want to partially reset the timeline instead, with all the fanservice to certain specific games about, especially given Iris has had fanservice going back to Project X Zone. The timeline as it stands has a ton of things that wouldn't fly today; be they Early Installment Weirdness, Values Dissonance, or Voodoo Sharks, among others. While not as Voodoo Shark-tastic as Sonic 4 and onwards, the X series timeline still has a ton of problems. X4, even if Iwamoto put it better than the games did, is a Shaggy Dog Story no matter how you look at it, and gets shaggier and shaggier with every game. Why didn't Zero terminate Axl on the spot, knowing the heartbreak Repliforce (and the Nightmare Investigators) ensured? If Doppler could somehow shrug off the virus after a pummeling, why was this never considered again? Why did nobody think of using Iris as a bargaining chip to put Zero on their side? When in X5, when they say that Repliforce have become Maverick, are they still falsely accused, or have they become genuine Mavericks? In Zero 2, is Colonel being lumped in with Vile an example of Neo Arcadia's draconian cruelty or is it an indication Repliforce really were as nasty as him? Why does Colonel fight X twice, making all that suffering for nothing? How can Vile come back after being OBLITERATED UNDERWATER, yet apparently IC Chip damage is too much for certain other Reploids? If the Rebellion's names were cleared, did the same happen to Repliforce?

    13. They had the chance with Maverick Hunter/Irregular Hunter X to play with the timeline. If they wanted they have multiple 3D assets now for X2 and the others. If Capcom were smart, they would take those assets, remix them and do Maverick Hunter X2. Drop it on all console systems for like $15-20 bucks. It wouldn't be as trapped as MHX was on just the PSP, would likely sell better, and they can try again. Ideally, they would leave the canon alone, and just spruce it up a bit like in the first MHX. MHX didn't violate canon, all it did was add to it, EXCEPT for Dr. Cain, which may or may not be a thing depending. All they have to do is include Dr. Cain in MHX2 and explain how.

But... This is Capcom we are talking about. They aren't even smart enough to put Gi wearing Dr. Light in Street Fighter's PLETHORA of DLC. A no brainer, if you ask me. They also aren't smart enough to add the option of renaming a fighter in their fighting game to match the cameo skin, i.e, Zero -> X in MvC3. Another no brainer if they thought ahead... I am pretty sure Injustice was able to do that with Green Lantern. It's like a new character with almost none of the work.

    16. Axl's not an "innocent".
That probably more the same problem we all have: bureaucracy. The hunters weren't like Street Judges. They had a hierarchy and followed orders from up top, which reorganized at least twice. More like the police, I think. That's why Axl was taken into custody.

Sigmas 8 bosses are probably just soulless husks when revived, like in MHX.

    17. Okay, but still. It's a little weird future and past games never did that symbol thing except a few cases.

    20. Gary... Axl was a mercenary killing reploids in the opening. He may not be evil, per se, but he ain't innocent. I am pretty sure Red Alert was never sanctioned and were more like vigilantes.

I am not sure X and Zero have the authority to kill at a whim. Hunters have rules and are always sortied to combat situations.

They shown actual revived mavericks being brain dead. It probably isn't the virus, and the virus itself isn't needed when a simpler explanation is probable. The shown Launch Octopus on auto pilot...

    23. And another thing about the "Virus" that really bugs me, now that I think about it. The Virus has been associated as a catch all for every Reploid, ignoring the ones who chose to rebel vs become infected. I don't believe every Maverick is infected. That makes Zero sense, pun intended.

    25. @shrap
the virus was the main cause in only three games - X3, X5 and X7. though i'd also add X8, the game doesn't explicitly much on the matter. for Maverick Hunter X, it's definitely not the virus, as there's nothing in the game that implies the virus even exists in the game's story, and same goes for X1, X2, X4 and X6.

    26. I'd argue Gate was good and infected, at least.
I don't think the virus was a factor in X8 since supposedly they chose to become maverick.

X3, X5 for sure. Don't know about X7. CM its not either.

    29. Well, both points of view are pure speculation as very little of it is explicitly said or documented. Fan theory and speculation isn't canon, just a fun distraction.

  3. Those artworks are pretty stunning. Ngl, Rico is the only XDive character I would accept becoming canon. Her personality just needs an overhaul and she'll be good to go.

    1. The other characters are explicitly designed to not look like X characters, so I doubt they would canonize them

That aside, I also don't see much reason for them to do that with RiCO
