Idols and Love Combine in Rockman X DiVE's 2nd Valentine's Day Event

Just a few hours ago we were talking about the Global's Version first Valentine's Day event. Now it's time to talk about the Asian's version second Valentine's Day event, which brings Valentines Day RiCO and Valentines Day iCO to the game.

Find all the details after the break!

Starting this Wednesday through the next two weeks, the "Idol! Music! Valentine's Day!" event stage will be available to celebrate Valentine's Day. Byte will be the event boss.

The Sweet Valentine's Day gacha banner includes Valentines Day RiCO, Valentines Day iCO and the S rank weapon Lover's Gaze.

Valentines Day RiCO's first active skill is Ribbon Link. Basically, you can use a ribbon to link yourself to the target and deal instant damage. If the target survives the initial hit, it appears the link will continue to deal damage.

It also looks like you can become invulnerable and deal interference status to the target. It's difficult to tell how the skill really works in this trailer, however.

Her second active skill is Fan Service which releases an Information Window, damaging enemies along its path. This skill can heal RiCO as a passive skill too.

Valentines Day iCO's first active skill is Ribbon Link. It's the same as Valentines Day RiCO but will cause continues damage or make the target immobile depending on the distance.

Her second active skill is Fan Service. iCO rushes forward, dealing damage to the target in front, and leaves behind information windows that cause continuous damage. Further, these windows render targets immobile.

It's difficult to grasp the technicalities of the Ribbon Link skill from the brief info in the trailer. Nevertheless it seems to be quite interesting and powerful.

I don't know if Idols is the first thing that crosses my mind when I think about Valentine's Day, but I'll take it! Both girls looks great! Let us know what you think in the comments!

  1. "Fan Service"

    Atleast they are self-aware.

  2. Like I said in twitter about FAN SERVICE SKILLS, they're no longer shy to admit it, it's like the success they got recently for the game made them think this is what will people like since they already liked it,i don't hate or have a problem with the alts but i myself like everyone prefer the OG characters, it's not fair for some fans to wait so much for their favourite characters to shows up while others enjoy their favourite and their favourite's alts

  3. Dunno if I want them or not, considering that I got Zinogre Iris recently.

    1. Agreed, this 3 year stretch with only dive is a one trick pony. Is that really the best they can do these days? Same old same old. Now it's just weird same old same old for 3 years now. Valentine's MM? Dressing like fairies? so weird. How the mighty have fallen. Are we in some parallel universe or something and we woke up in bizzaro land the last few years?

    2. We arent allowed to critisize, only consume in this, the darkest timeline.

    3. Honestly, we have the whole community for this, might as well consider Mega Man X Corrupted as a canonical entry and move on, I'm way more hyped for fangames than whatever Capcom can make nowadays.
It's now our responsability to make the Megaman canon ourselves.

    4. Y'all are just overdramatising at this point.

XCorrupted can't be considered a canonical entry if it stays in devhell forever
      it's better than XDive, though

    6. In any case, one can see Corruption progress here usually once a week on Fridays: https://www.twitch.tv/jkbgames/videos

As much as I hate to admit it, its true, it will take some time, but I'm pretty sure Corrupted will be out before anything related to a real Megaman game comes out. By real game, I mean not a gacha crap.

    8. You'd rather have something like Fully Charged? Ya know, the ONLY media that came out in the darkest hour of the series?

    9. @Austin Reed

Mind you, the only media that came out in AMERICA in the darkest hours.
Japan was filled with pure merchandising and VR games, I honestly would have loved that instead of receiving virtual drugs.

Looking at those short skirts, it seems like their passive skills are Fan Service, too. Haw haw haw haw– I'm sorry.

  8. ...ok, this is now bothersome.

I get that's the target audience, but MAN this just... doesn't feel like megaman anymore.

You could argue they are designed based on, like, the zx saga but.. these idols barely feels like they belong on a megaman game at all.

I know i used to say that it wasn't so bad but now i'm raising eyebrows (although tbf i was already raising eyebrows with how much "sexualized" are all the classic roll variants.

Capcom, please do tell me if this will ever result on an actual new game for the franchise in general? I'm not even asking for an x9, just... something.

    2. Yeah, how many times are they gonna repeat this same old same old? Didn't they do dive valentine's day and all the other holidays 2 times already. Again? how many more repeats? They will easily run out of ideas. In fact, they probably have, hence they stopped making sequels to the main timeline. I think they ran out of ideas. Also would explain the repetitive nature of dive posts and nothing more for years.

      Delete
    3. Why in this day and age are we still acting like all creative teams within a company are one and the same? The team working on X Dive has nothing to do with the main series. That they are still bothering with this tiresome fanservice is one thing, but it has nothing to do with the main series being idle as of now.

      Delete
    4. Any dev team working on something like this is not working on something better.

      Delete
    5. That makes it even worse which means without dive, then there would be no nothing but silly posts about toys and art and weird MM non-canon manga, which I couldn't care less about. I only care about games when it comes to MM, canon main timeline games at that, and the attached storylines and characters. I can't speak for others, but most of us probably don't care about 'most' of the rest. Really, the only thing I care about with MM is the main timeline canon games that are actual sequels and platformers; not dive, not CM, not MM soccer, not battle network, not MM racing or other nonsense. I did like the Ruby Spears cartoons in the 90s though (saw them occasionally when it happened to be on). I'm not such a fan boy to where I buy merch or wear a bunch of clothes with the brands for anything, and that is the way I've always been ever since I played MM in the very early 90s. I always found it odd that with anime and games or any media really, many are OCD about it and to have their walls decked with it or a bunch of toys like they have no balance in life. LOL I knew a woman in college in 2002 who did the same except with the move Scream (had her wall full of Scream pics and stuff). Looking back, it seems stupid to me and it turns me off. So weird. Talk about going way too far. It comes across as a child.

Not trying to offend anyone here. Just saying my feeling, and I mean that for any person that takes any series or media too far. A toy or two or a poster is no big deal, but some people are having tons of toys, clothes, and posters if just one thing. Kind of ridiculous like they have OCD and no balance. LOL I see some doing that for Dragon Ball and youtubers who talk about Dragon Ball. I like that series and Super too and the Japanese subs, some Manga looks interesting, but I don't go to that extreme ever, buy collectables, expensive merch, wear a hat with it on there, have action figures like I did as a child (I stopped playing with those probably 3 decades ago), etc. More legit games, less side nonsense please, Capcom. Is that too much to ask even though I do buy it?

      Delete
    6. The main issue here is that, even if it was a side thing, it would be awesome to have, however we have this "side" things that mostly appeals to corporate mass profits, and ludopath breeders rather than an actual game.

  9. Yeesh this is starting to get more and more cringey! I try my best not to complain on here but...
wow, this really does feel like a "fall from grace" moment. Could we at least compensate by getting
Sigma in a speedo? That would make things feel a tad more "balanced" in my opinion.

Sure, there have been small moments of "fan service" from older games - but they were never so
in your face like how things look now.

  10. How about some male fan service? Where is my swimsuit X? This wouldn't bother me so much if the blatant fan service in this game were equal between male and female characters. It's 2022, get with the times, Capcom.

    1. Please no, I would much rather Capcom not get with the times in this regard.

    2. So, it's okay for female characters to be nothing but fan service, but not a male character?

They do need to get with the times. Either they stop with the blatant fan service or do it for the males, cuz no matter how you slice it it's unfair.

It's 2022. Sexualization of female characters should've been done with ages ago.

    3. I'll take the stop blatant fan service option please.

    4. Honestly, yeah. I'm a male and this girl fanserivce is getting boring. Lets see X and Zero in swimsuit or better yet, Sigma in bikini. That would be one hell of a banner to pull on.

      Delete
    5. There are worse things to me than being "boring", Sigma in a bikini is one of them, I don't need to be shock by weirdo "progressive" modern headline banners, the internet is essentially nothing but that nowadays. I can find that anywhere else.

    6. to the comment above, I was joking. I couldnt careless about Sigma in bikini. It would be hilarious but I dont really care either way. I've stopped playing this game for a while and probably will never touch it again so whatever.

    2. To champion this demonstrates my point that people's standards have really fallen these days to match the decreasing quality of life and standard of living at least here in the US, and to champion low quality non-legit MM stuff only encourages them to produce more of the same BS vs actually legit PC and console MM games that are actual platformers in the main timeline tied to the actual canon story and not a puny ass tiny screens. All I care about with MM is the main timeline games; not merch, not manga, not nonsense like MM soccer, Dive, Command Mission turn based nonsense, not MM racing, or other irrelevant distractions or cheap low effort money grabs. Putting stuff on a tiny screen is being cheap both in quality and their overhead. MM needs to be big with equally big screened releases. I just used an emulator or the GameBoy player for the Gamecube to play the Zero series back in the day before being the collections on Steam. Good games, but I never liked being forced to play on a tiny ass screen without gamepads, so can use an emulator these days to bypass that, but before that, just used an attachment to a console back in the days when I used to play consoles, just as I used a 3DS emulator to play the remade Metroid 2 Samus Returns a couple months back, but in the 90s, did play the original GameBoy Return of Samus, but later discovered the Super Gameboy addon so you could play GTB games through the SNES.

Anyways, that means I want, and most here probably want things like MM12, X9, ZX3, Legends 3, or additional series between ZX and Legends. MM11 was what we wanted and was smart. If they were smart, they would keep that up and with other main timeline series, especially since it sold well. Actual real MM games story and all vs just stopping or taking their sweet old time despite selling well (how strange). Legends can stay confined to 3D (2D Legends looks silly and isn't Legends, (like that fan made MM Legends 3 demo side scrolling game). Series starting with 2D can stay in 2D.

Whenever I watch things or play a game, I almost always do that on my custom PC. Also better on the eyes and can actually make out lots of details, so actually enjoyable. Same goes for Facebook on the big screen and can see so much at once. Also nothing beats a gamepad for most games, or a gamepad but secondary options can be utilized with a keyboard button, and my powerful custom built PC that I built myself in 2019 to replace the one I built in 2014, etc etc, puts any puny phone to shame. Mine is not even state of the art, but let's see a phone run Doom Eternal at 'high', not ultra settings on a 2K 1440p monitor with an average of 60s frames a second (it is a 144MHz monitor though so can potentially get up to 144 frames a second if software supports it) and decided on TN instead of VA to avoid ghosting artifacts because it has a good grey to grey and other response times). Not state of the art, but still darn good and better than any phone. Still waiting for chip shortages to be rectified and drop GPUs to or near the retail price before I replace my still great GeForce 980 Ti (still great with 6 GBs of GDDR5 VRAM PCIe 3.0 and a 384-bit bus and was about 500+ dollars at the time in 2015 (reasonable for high end)). I'm not paying $1000+ for a video card, else I would get a 3080 Ti or something akin to that. Might just wait for the 4000x series at this rate. The RTX 3080 retail price in good times would be between 600 and 700 dollars; not over 2000. I can wait.

    3. Just got an Asus ROG G15 motherboard and case with an i7-11700KF then an off the shelf Gigabyte OC edition 3060ti both at and below MSRP, came with 16gigs of 3200MHz ram which I upgraded to 32gigs. It cost about 1200$ in total.

So I am good for now, PC gaming is great and I think where the future of games are headed. That said, it is not practical for most people at this moment in time, at least for a decent setup+.

    4. Might depend on the country too, and I buy on newegg. Some countries may have it cheaper than here in the US, all the more reason to make more chips here at home vs being to dependent on China for most chips. I would be careful though as I was reading that some of the lower tier cards in the 3000x series, like 3060 that advertises good VRAM, for example, could have a small data bus (Ti might be different though), making it so it can't utilize a lot of its memory per clock cycle (a bottle neck catch false advertising).

In 2019, I got a x470 Aorus gaming 7 board, 32 GBs of DDDR4 2933Mhz RAM, a Ryzen 2700 (I even put a massive heat sink on it, with 120mm fan, super quiet, even though it is only 65watts anyways), and a Plextor PCIe SSD 1TB drive (maybe 4 times faster than SATA 3). I decided to buy Win 10 64 and take advantage of that to also upgrade my hard drive over the SATA 3 SSD, but the 2013 MB did not read that PCIe drive and it appeared like an unknown device in device manager, so I discovered I needed to upgrade the motherboard to recognize that newer drive tech. After some reading, discovered that the 2013 Gigabyte MB I had did not recognize MVNE or something related to a new standard for non-SATA SSDs.

So the only real thing I been wanting to upgrade at this point is the video card, but it still works darn good, so I can wait, but I make it good and high end when I do. The 80 designation in NVidia is high end, 60 is mid. Problem with Radeon is their drivers suck and their power and heat management does too, so I don't touch those for years now. I recall the driver issue when I had one in 2010, and based on some reading, seems they still have bad drivers leading to visual artifacts.

    5. Yeah that is a big point of contention with the 3060, memory interface at 192-bit makes it so it could never take advantage of its 12gigs of V-RAM among other things (like the drastically reduced Cores).

The 3060ti is on spec with the 3070, with marginally less Cuda Cores 3070 at 5888 and 60ti at 4864, my particular model of 3060ti even operates at a higher clock speed than a founders edition 3070. Point is the have the same memory interface at 256-bit 8gigs at GDDR6.

The 3060ti also outperforms and is higher spec than the entire 20 series line save for 2080ti(the peak) with the same max V-RAM and type, more CUDA Cores (by a good margin), better clocks speeds, equivalent memory interface and bandwidth and most importantly better real environment testing performance at lower energy draw. It also has more modern ray tracing cores, tensor cores, and architecture (Ampere) along with better DLSS and other game changing AI performance enhancing tech. Point is I did my research before buying and it definitely isn't a slouch and is more than capable of handling the vast majority of modern gaming needs (and wants)(1440p high settings). It is essentially the perfect baseline for today's high end games especially since devs are aiming for that baseline due to the current situation. The 3070 is a little extra (1440p, ultra light), ti a little more so than that (light 4k), 3080 is premium (ultra mid 4k), ti is deluxe (same but slightly better performance) and 3090 straight up a halo card not even really meant for consuming and gaming.

All that is to say I will eventually like you upgrade to a 3080 but nowhere near what it is currently going for in the current market right now, and I am fine with that because my GPU is fine. Others won't be so lucky though cause the 3060ti goes for 800+ generally right now (which is definitely not ideal) especially if you still have to factor in other components to buy along with it. But then again like you said some others are that lucky, it just depends.

    6. Newer cards with tensor cores (better than CUDA cores) and GDDR6X (better than GDDR6) looks appealing. May be overkill since I don't have a 8K or 4K monitor, but a good way to future proof it. My power supply is 850 watts gold edition, so it should be able to handle it, especially since I only have one card in there I use. I also don't overclock since no need + less heat and noise. Also makes lifespan of parts longer, like that massive heat sink and fan on my CPU will.

Of course I was concerned if PCIe 4.0 cards would cause my PCIe 3 motherboard to limit the speed of the newer videos cards, but many are saying it is unlikely that the demands of a game will ever cause that bottle neck to manifest (modern games use mostly GPU anyways, but I also play source port games that are older but with fan made graphical enhancements; check out brutal Doom and Freespace SCP, for example), especially since I'm not using an 8k monitor, let alone 4k, so PCIe 4 may not slow it down. Also some of my PCIe ports are empty, so less bandwidth being split among components, thus more for what is plugged in. Using 4K and 8K monitors also comes at the cost of frame rate anyways, 8k being limited to 30 frames/sec and 4K limited to 60, especially with current display port cord tech. display port 2.0 and better video cards will bypass that limitation one day though. So I guess that is why you said 1140p is the sweet spot. Makes sense.

Also with all the drawbacks of TN, I got a new TN after having a curved VA (for a month with 32 inches) to replace my 23 inch previous 1080p TN because ghosting was just too unacceptable. The TN I have now is 27inches. I don't get OLED because it has burn in, shorter lifespan, very spendy, and less brightness, but MicroLED will be a game changer (the first monitor to be best at all things, and potentially can get cheaper than OLED). Keep an eye out for microLED, also modular and called 'the wall'.

This is my monitor, and probably the best TN out there and teh best a TN can ever do: https://www.newegg.com/p/0JC-004Y-00037

On a side note, check this modding site from an older game but now they even added PBR textures thanks to releasing the SCP for the game in 2002 (lots of fan made campaigns and features and graphics added and even redoing the models). This is one page of one thread, but you can see far more navigating the site, and I recommend Freespace 2 for anyone, just as I recommend the Descent trilogy (1 and 2 also have a source port with addons and graphical upgrades, a lot like classic doom ports): https://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=25406.10960

Here is what can be done with Brutal Doom or project brutality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LI4_AQohjI

    7. Yeah I will check out the links, and like you I do not own 4k and above displays but also I don't feel the need to since I am not a resolution junkie. That said future proofing is trickier now due to the shift to the emerging prominence of software acceleration, don't get me wrong hardware will still be a thing but the implementation of compatible software will also be more of a thing. This is why I believe AMD is making a mistake in pushing raw hardware technical specs and Intel and Nvidia are innovating where the tech will go moving forward. AMD now realizes this but is now playing catchup and is trying to implement backwards compatible software not specifically tailored to the device on a hardware level.

All this is to say, I have no idea what breakthroughs will happen in the innovation department, so future proofing is not as simple now as more cores, or clock speeds, etc it's more like what you alluded to, the type of cores and such.

  12. Obviously this is now a dying discussion until the next XDive article but…honestly I was joking about the “Sigma in a Speedo” remark - I don’t want ANY character, male or female, in that kind of outfit. That being said, I really do wish we would get more swim ware for the guys. Seriously, are you telling me the only characters that want to hit the waves are Roll, Alia, Pallette and Layer? Unless they did cover the guys and I just missed it?
