Mega Man: Official Complete Works Out Today (UPDATE)

Today is the much anticipated release of the Mega Man: Official Complete Works art book from Udon Entertainment.  Copies should have gone in the mail sometime earlier today for those who pre-ordered online.  As for finding a copy in-stores, you might want to call ahead before making the trip; Udon titles are sold at select retailers.

Next up on our grand Mega Man book list is Mega Man X: Official Complete Works, slated to hit store shelves on December 14th, 2009. Pre-order yours here.

UPDATE - It's delayed...at least according to Amazon.

"We're [Amazon] writing about the order you placed on April 16 2009 (Order# XXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX). Unfortunately, we are unable to ship the item(s) as soon as we expected and need to provide you with a new estimate of when the item(s) may be delivered:

Capcom "Mega Man: Official Complete Works"
Estimated arrival date: November 13 2009 - December 10 2009""

Please, don't let this be another MMZOCW...

  2. Whoo hoo! We at UDON worked hard on this, everyone -- and in my case specifically, it's a "by a fan, for the fans" kind of thing. I really, really hope you all get as much out of reading and looking through it as I did working on it. :)

  3. I already have the Japanese Rockman R20... But like with the MMZero artbook, I am so tempted, even though it is mostly buying the same thing twice... What are you doing to me, Capcom?

  4. :(

    I just got an email informing me that the release/shipping has been delayed;

    "Hello from Amazon.com.

  5. I got the same email. So sad. I've had this ordered since April! :P

  6. I thought something was up when I glanced at Amazon today, and it said it wouldn't ship for 1 to 2 months.

    Udon, you did the same thing with the Mega Man Zero book. Get it together, guys. If it's got Street Fighter on it, you can pump it right out... This makes me a bit worried about how well you'll handle the Megamix/ZX mangas.

  7. Lets hope this doesn't turn out to be another Zero Official Complete Works, or we'll be waiting another year and a half. A 1-2 month delay isn't so bad. Capcom's just as bad with their own game release sechedules sometimes. I was looking forward to it too, but let's not go berserker yet.

  8. Well, at least I earned enough Amazon gift cards to make this free... You get what you pay for, I guess. -_-;;

  9. Aw, DAMMIT.

    Maybe it's just an Amazon-specific problem?.. (The Books-a-Million site has it listed)

  10. They're on backorder at my store, so I'll keep an eye out elsewhere too, to see if it's happening at all the stores.

  11. What..?
    WHAT???
    Oh please, not again, Udon. PLEASE. I need this for my sister's birthday...

  12. Strange, I haven't gotten an email yet and I've had it ordered since July.

    "Paperback - Oct 14, 2009
    Usually ships within 1 to 2 months."

    lolwut?

  13. Let's all pause and remember the "Megaman Zero: Complete Works" delay....I'm a little skeptical of MaverickHunterAsh if he works for Udon but was unaware of the delay.

  14. Okay, yeah, this makes sense. I have to say, I was really surprised when I checked PRC this morning to find this post because I thought it'd been delayed to November, but I rolled with it just in case I was unaware of some last-minute change in the publishing schedule.

    Hypercoyote --

    I can understand why you'd be skeptical of me given the situation. But please keep in mind that when you work for a company, you have things you're allowed to talk about, and things you're not. Changes in the publishing schedules/delays definitely fall under the "have to come from the official company line" type of thing.

    Anyway, it's your choice if you want to believe me or not, but consider the idea that Protodude probably wouldn't keep okaying my comments if he thought I was just some troll who was masquerading as a freelancer for UDON. I talk to you guys when I can because I'm a fan just like you, and I know how cool it is to have a line to someone (sort of) on the inside. But this job is also just that -- a job, so I can't (and won't) tell you everything I'm privy to. I hope you'll understand. :)

    In any case, all I can say is that I know the delay sucks, but it's for good reason, and the wait will be worth it. And as it stands, this definitely will not be another MMZ OCW, so don't worry about that.

  15. I didn't say I didn't believe you, I said there's a doubt :)

    It doesn't really bother me either way. And I think protodude will approve pretty much any comment someone posts on here lol.....

  16. Hey Ash, did any Mega Man 9 stuff make it into the book? I know there wasn't any in the original, but since the books were getting split anyway, I figured there might be room to add a few things..?
