Mr. Mega Man, Little Mega Man Volume 2 Delayed to Late November

Those who've pre-order Mr. Mega Man Volume 2 and Little Mega Man Volume 2 are receiving alerts from Amazon that the books are now expected to ship on November 25th. They were previously expected to release in late July.

In the meantime, here are the official solicitations:

Mr. Mega Man Volume 2 - When Mega Man grows up, he must face his greatest challenge of all... life as an adult! The battles with Dr. Wily are in the past, and Mega Man has grown up in a peaceful world. Now spending his days as a dentist, Mega Man has begun to notice a rise in strange, robot-related incidents. As a result, he must once again use his great power to protect the world and uncover the mastermind behind this mystery…

Little Mega Man Volume 2 - The endless battle between Dr. Light and Mega Man continues! The Blue Bomber encounters more wacky new robots such as… Demon Man! Sushi Man! Plasma TV Man…? Plus, meet the very shiny European Mega Man! And is that… X and ZERO!? It’s all-out zany adventures in LITTLE MEGA MAN!

Release dates for third and final volumes of each series have not yet been confirmed, but it’s likely we can expect them in early 2026 at this rate.

Check Out the Mini Figures From Jasco's Unreleased Mega Man-All Stars Board Game

Four years ago, Jasco Games announced a follow-up to their Mega Man: The Board Game, titled Mega Man All-Stars. Drawing inspiration from Mega Man Megamix, the game centered on defending Dr. Light’s lab from waves of Robot Masters and Star Droids while building powerful Special Weapons to take the fight to Dr. Wily.

Although the Kickstarter campaign was successful and the project cleared all of Capcom’s certifications and approvals, the game never saw a public release. Whether it’s been canceled or simply delayed is still unclear. In the meantime, project artist Hector Moran recently shared renders and images of many of the planned mini figures. Check 'em out below!

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 Sales Top 1 Million Units

Capcom has updated its Platinum Titles chart for the fiscal year, which lists software that has sold one million or more units worldwide. As of June 30th 2025, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 has reached one million cumulative sales across PlayStation 4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’s the latest addition to the growing club of million-selling Mega Man games—becoming the sixth in the past decade and the tenth overall to surpass the milestone.

Franchise-wide sales for Mega Man remain at 43 million units, holding steady from the previous quarter. Meanwhile, other past entries continued to gain ground: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 climbed to 1.5 million units (up 100K), and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 rose to 1.1 million (up 100K).

Ruby-Spears Mega Man Coming to SD-BD with New Features, Commentary and More!

Announced today at Discotek’s Otakon panel, the complete Ruby-Spears animated series is heading to Blu-ray under Discotek’s SD-BD line (Standard Definition on Blu-ray). To set it apart from the earlier DVD release, this edition is loaded with a wealth of bonus material that I, along with a few friends from the Mega Man community, helped put together. Here’s the rundown:

  • All 27 episodes presented in Standard Definition
  • A newly restored version of episode 1 sourced from the original master, presented at its proper speed—a format not seen in decades.
  • Bonus materials include:
    • A new scan of the original "anime" pitch pilot
    • Hi-res scans of the show's original press kit
    • TV commercials
    • A toy commercial
    • Art and marketing galleries (preview here, here and here)
    • Brand-new, interactive menus
    • Complete scans of the series bible (preview)
    • All-new commentary with Ian James Corlett, the voice of Mega Man!

Over the course of the past year and a half, I’ve worked closely with Discotek on this set, and I can say with absolute certainty that it’s worth double-dipping even if you already own the complete series on DVD. The new transfer of episode 1 is very crisp, and some of the show bible materials are being revealed here for the first time—never before seen, even by longtime Rockman Corner readers.

More updates including a release window soon!

Rockman x The Legend of the Three Kingdoms Online Story Synopsis

Last month, a crossover event between Rockman and the Taiwan-exclusive MMO The Legend of the Three Kingdoms Online was announced to... well, little fanfare. It’s the latest in a long line of unusual, seemingly random collaborations with little relevance to fans outside its country of origin. Still, for the sake of posterity, it’s our duty to document its place in Rockman’s proverbial history books. So, for your consideration, here’s a complete summary of the crossover’s plot.

Those Comic Con exclusives aren’t quite so exclusive anymore—Jada Toys is now accepting orders for the 6-pack of Neo Metall figures directly through Jada Next Level. Each pack is priced at $35.00 and limited to two per customer. Unfortunately for many, shipping is only available within the U.S.

Here's the official description:

A release date hasn’t been announced yet, and if past launches are any indication, it may be several months before Proto Man goes up for preorder.

Mega Man Was Once Considered for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games 2020

According to Mario & Sonic series producer Lee Cocker, Sega and Nintendo originally envisioned Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as a full-blown “Video Game All-Stars” crossover, bringing together characters from other IPs—including Mega Man.

In a recent exchange on Twitter, Cocker revealed that the original concept for the game was to include a wide range of iconic characters—not just from the worlds of Mario and Sonic, but from across the gaming industry. That lineup included Mega ManPokémonStreet FighterMetal Gear Solid, and even select Sony and Microsoft properties. The idea was that certain characters would appear only in specific Olympic events, creating a crossover experience tailored to each character’s unique traits.

Unfortunately, the plan never came to fruition. “Lots of the deals/agreements couldn’t be agreed, which was a shame,” Cocker explained, “so it went back to just being Mario and Sonic.”

Still, it’s exciting to know that Mega Man was considered for a leading role in what could have been one of gaming’s most ambitious crossovers to date.

Rockman x The Legend of Three Kingdoms Online Collaboration Event Announced

UserJoy Technology is celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Legend of Three Kingdoms Online with a crossover event with none other than Rockman. Set to launch on July 31st, the collaboration brings classic series character into the long-running Taiwanese MMORPG through officially licensed in-game content.

Players can look forward to a lineup of avatars based on classic characters like Rockman, Blues, and Forte, all reimagined in a 3D style that evokes their original 8-bit designs. The event also includes themed bosses and a Rush-inspired mount (you can see Dr. Wily riding along for the chaos above). A brand-new server will launch the same day, giving new and returning players a chance to jump in with bonus rewards and a clean slate.

While The Legend of Three Kingdoms Online is technically playable outside of Taiwan, it does not support English. For many of us, this will be one of those obscure, region-locked collaborations we’ll have to enjoy from afar through secondhand footage.

Jada Mega Man Wave 3 Now Available to Pre-Order

At long, long last, the third wave of Jada Toys' Mega Man line is now available to pre-order from Big Bad Toystore and Entertainment Earth. Each figure is priced at $29.99 and is expected to ship in October.

The $30 price tag was expected, especially with Bubble Man and Wood Man being slightly taller than earlier Robot Masters. Additionally, Mega Man includes a fully articulated Met—it's not just a static accessory. This added functionality and the upgraded materials contribute to the "Deluxe" label.

Now that these figures are finally on the move, we can set our sights on Wave 4, which will include Proto Man, Snake Man and Gemini Laser Mega Man. Hopefully, it won't be much longer before more details surface.

Rockman: The Puzzle Battle Preserved

Rockman: The Puzzle Battle originally launched in 2011 for i-mode and EZweb-supported mobile phones, exclusively in Japan. Now, thanks to the work of a user named 2Soulz, the game has been successfully extracted from its original hardware and is fully playable through the Keitai World Launcher emulator. For the best experience, it’s recommended to use Windows 10 or later, as older systems may encounter bugs.

Gameplay is very straight forward: you swap adjacent spheres to line up three or more of the same color in a row or column. Each successful match prompts Rockman to launch an attack on his opponent. If you match four or more, you’ll earn an extra turn. The goal is to drain the Robot Master’s health down to zero. Defeating a Robot Master rewards you with their unique Special Weapon, which can create different effects.

Many thanks to 2Soul and RockmanCosmo for capturing the footage!

Osaka Museum Archive Preserves Rare Rockman Commercials

The Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka, has officially confirmed the preservation of several Capcom television commercials as part of its "Mannensha Collection"—including rare spots for Rockman 1 and Rockman 2. These commercials were publicly screened for the first time on June 8th.

These commercials are part of a broader archival effort to digitize the work of Mannensha, a prominent advertising agency active during the 1980s and 1990s. Among the preserved film negatives and video materials are spots for Bionic Commando, Sweet Home, and notably, Rockman 1—a version that predates the game’s release by nearly a month. Interestingly, it appears to be shorter than the Rockman 1 commercial that’s been circulating on YouTube for years, suggesting it may be an earlier or alternate cut.

According to the museum, these commercials have been digitized and can be viewed without a reservation in their Archives Information Room. Visitors can access them on-site using provided tablets. Viewing original physical materials is also possible by appointment.

While the content itself hasn’t been made available online, the fact that these commercials are preserved in a public archive is a noteworthy for fans and game historians alike. It’s fortunate that these materials were deemed valuable enough to be preserved before their aging analog formats deteriorated.

For more information or to plan a visit, check out the museum’s archive page here!

Akira Kitamura Launches Patreon Series: Mega Man History Essays and More

Mega Man creator Akira Kitamura has launched his official Patreon, "Kitamura's Blueprints", where he’ll be sharing new articles twice a month in both English and Japanese. These entries will delve into the complete story behind the creation of Mega Man, as well as his personal philosophy on game design.

The first post—available for free—is part of the “Creating Mega Man” essay series. In Chapter 1, Kitamura reveals how a chance encounter with a certain individual helped shape the foundation of Mega Man 1's gameplay. Each post will feature brand-new artwork illustrated by Kitamura himself, starting with a fitting inaugural piece of Mega Man shaking hands with Astro Boy. Another free entry, part of his game theory essays, explores the tension between creative ambition and industry realities, how original ideas arise through experience and persistence—an issue that remains highly relevant in today’s industry.

Both essay series are definitely worth checking out. If you can, consider supporting the project—Kitamura’s been working hard behind the scenes to bring this to life for fans and anyone curious about game design.
