A Look Mega Man X DIVE's Cut and Unused Content

The debut of Mega Man X DiVE Offline shed some light on content that the development team hadn't had the chance to implement initially: Eregion (Mega Man X4's Opening Stage boss), Violen (an X-Hunter from Mega Man X2), and the desire to include Prometheus (ZX) as a playable character.

And now, thanks to the recently-released Rockman X DiVE Illustration Collection book, we have even more details about content that didn't make the cut.

Find all the details after the break!

First, thanks to Twitter user deko, we have a good look at Sigma (X3 1st Form) full body art which was never shown in the game. On the right, you can see an alternative pose of Sigma (X4 2nd form).

Next, we have an alternative pose for "Gangsta Boy Sigma" and DiVE Armor Sigma. According to some reports, he was initially planned as a boss but we can't confirm this with 100% confidence at this time. In any case, boss or not, he would've ended up being a playable character.

Alternative poses for Meg Man Volnutt, Roll Caskett, Tron Bonne and "White Tron".

Now, here's the biggest revelation the artbook has to offer: a scrapped crossover between X DiVE and the ill-fated mobile game Rockman Xover, a collab many fans were hoping for.

Further, thanks to Twitter user ウリポット, we know now that Nero L and Oro S were in the planning stages before the game ended service.

And finally, thanks to下駄, we can take a look at an alternative pose for iCO and a never before seen illustration of X holding the "Extraordinary Mortar".

Beyond a 6-page interview with the development team, the book is largely focused on illustrations and an extensive gallery of unused poses. The book just came out today, so when new information surfaces that's worth a mention, we'll be sure to report it. For now, enjoy these neat revelations!

  1. XOver crossover is wild, but dive armor sigma is wilder. It just looks like he's wearing the next dive armor for X.

If there turns out to be no X DiVE art for Prometheus, I'm gonna be salty lol

  3. On one hand, it's good to know we could have gotten another unique female, even though we had enough females to compare female family members to before Next Dive Armor X. On the other hand, it's insulting that we could have gotten two X-Over characters before Over-1, and YET ANOTHER DIVE ARMOR NO ONE ASKED FOR. Typical Taicom, am I right? Oh well, happy birthday anyway Mega Man. I hope Capcom will remember you next year.

  4. X-Dive was going to go as far as to displace the actual "Mega Man" of a series in favor of a female character.

  5. Capcom, please release this in the west, preferably digitally and physically. I will buy it dammit. I am already holding the money to throw at it.

    1. Or you could just import it?

    2. Yup, I love reading languages I don't understand and paying extra for shipping. I am dedicated like that. Thanks for the awaome suggestion. I'll take it to heart.

    3. You have a point about the languages, but the shipping isn't as much as you think it is. Yen is so weak right now importing something tends to be about the same price or even a little cheaper.

    4. Come on really? It’s a art book with minimal text, if you wanted it that badly you would have ordered it instead of begging on a fansite for Capcom or a publisher to release it elsewhere. International shipping isn’t that bad if you actually make a effort to shop around.

    5. The last image is literally a small picture of X surrounded by text... Would you guys be like this if Capcom made a game that only released in Japan? Would you guys be like, "really dude?, just import it, form some random 3rd party importer, it's just Rockman, it barely has story or text, stop bothering Capcom with your petty problems gosh". Would you people really do that? That is some next level weebness, I must say.

  6. There was so many moment they could have put that Rockman -Over collab.
I don't like being overly negative , but sometimes it's like they were delibarately making the least efficients decisions.

    1. The game is mostly based off of the Megaman X series so it makes sense

  11. I feel like I'm one of the few people in the world who actually wanted OVER-1 to be playable in X DiVE. Even more so if "Future Kalinka" were involved as an NPC or something. Honestly, Rockman xOVER had the potential to be something interesting, but the devs played it too safe by making it an auto-runner…

  13. iCO looks cute with straight bangs

  14. This is really unfortunate. If the game had only continued for another year, we would have seen more for Characters megaman

  15. DiVE Armor Sigma deserved to make it in. Actually, hell, ALL original characters should have just been Sigma costumes! Now that would have been awesome. But alas...

  16. They could still add all these characters into the X DiVe Offline game.

  17. There's one character that I feel like to make a joke but I prefer not to XD
