Capcom and Laced Records have announced Mega Man Zero/ZX: The Vinyl Collection, a 5LP vinyl box set that includes soundtracks for Mega Man Zero 1-4, Mega Man ZX and Mega Man ZX Advent. Our pal ultimatemaverickx has returned as the sleeve artist, producing lore-faithful, vibrant illustrations depicting memorable moments from the Zero and ZX series. You can see what those look like here.
Additional info:
Also, just a quick reminder—Mega Man X Timelines #1 and Mega Man Zero Timelines #1 were delayed from their original release date. Mega Man X might still make it out this month, but we're currently waiting on confirmation from Udon.
Lost in a barren wasteland, the heroic Reploid Zero fights on! The world he knows is gone, but a new future is rising, and it needs protection. Enter a dynamic new era of Mega Man history!
This issue marks Ian Flynn’s return to writing Mega Man, his first story since the Archie Comics series. Artwork is by Hanzo Steinbach, who also provides Cover A and C, while Cover B is illustrated by Jeffrey 'Chamba' Cruz.
Mega Man Zero Timelines #1 is expected to go on sale in July.
Udon Entertainment has unveiled the standard cover art for Mega Man Zero, Mega Man ZX, and Mega Man Legends Timelines issue #1. Following the visual theme established by Mega Man Timelines and Mega Man X Timelines #1, each cover features its respective protagonist set against a backdrop of familiar villains.
Notably, the Mega Man ZX cover has undergone a significant revision since its initial preview, with Vent's face now more closely resembling the original character design.
Here’s a quick rundown of who's who and when to expect each issue:
Since Kazuhiro Tsuchiya's departure in 2023, the makeup of Capcom's internal Mega Man development team has been unclear. Masakazu Eguchi, fresh off Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, emerged as a public face for the team back in April, though his exact role remains unknown.
Fast forward to today, and we can add two new names to the mix. In the credits for Secret Level episode Mega Man: Start, we see Shingo Izumi and Hiroshi Ito. Izumi, who joined Capcom in 2018, was the producer behind Monster Hunter: World and the recent Ghost Trick HD remaster. Ito was a producer on Monster Hunter Stories, its sequel, and the Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter Rise. The other two names, Makhoul and Abe, oversee Capcom's TV and film operations. While not directly part of the internal Mega Man development team, they are credited on Start by association.
Izumi and Ito have not worked on any known Mega Man game before, so their association with the development team, which oversees the production of Mega Man software at Capcom Japan, signals the arrival of new talent in the post-Tsuchiya era. While we can only speculate on their exact roles, their experience as producers may indicate leadership positions.
With Capcom's recent push to revive dormant IPs—seen in the unexpected reveals of an Okami sequel and the long-delayed Onimusha—a path forward for the 37-year-old Blue Bomber may be taking shape. At the very least, rest assured that the Mega Man dev team not only remains intact but continues to evolve.
Alright, bear with us on this one. In 2021, we learned about Rockman XZ: Time Rift, an official mobile action RPG in development at NebulaJoy—the team behind Rockman X DiVE—which was set to cross over the X and Zero series. Shortly after these initial reports, a source indicated the game was cancelled. But, in a surprising twist, it appears not only that the game might have been revived, but it could even be nearing release.
Surprise! The 2003 crossover fighter SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is now available for download on Steam with a release planned on Monday, July 22nd, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and GOG. This modern port features rollback netcode mutliplayer, online lobbies for up to nine players, and a variety of extras, including a gallery mode and a new hitbox viewer.
For Mega Man fans, SVC Chaos holds a special place as it features Zero from the Zero series as a secret playable character. His moveset draws inspiration from an array of weapons and actions from the games, including the inclusion of numerous Cyber Elfs. Ciel also makes an appearance, dropping in on Zero's interactions with other characters to provide some commentary and support. This is also the game that features the gender-swapped Zero sprite, which you might have seen out of context.

After the debut of MegaMan.EXE and Bass.EXE back in late 2022, two additional characters from the Mega Man series have joined Capcom's well-loved plush line, "Capcorom."
Starting this Friday, Zero from the Mega Man Zero series and Lan Hikari from the Mega Man Battle Network Series will be available to purchase at the Capcom Store locations in Tokyo, Osaka and Umeda for 1,100 yen each (around $7.32 or 6,74€).
