This past May, Capcom Japan began recruiting licensing partners to development commemorative products for Mega Man Battle Network's 20th anniversary. And now, six months later, the house that built the blue bomber are extending their efforts to English-based companies.
"8-bit Mega Man burnout" has been a thing for a little while now and it looks like it's finally caught up with one brand partner. Jakks Pacific, who currently hold the master Mega Man toy license in the states, has announced that their 8-bit line of Mega Man toys is no more.
Here's what Jakks Pacific's own Craig Drobis had to say: (via Toy Hype USA)
"I am a personal fan of our 8 bit lines, mostly because that is how the games looked when I first played them. And the Mega Man two packs were among my favorite executions we have made. We did find that people were more interested in the modern/3D versions of the characters and that is why we moved on to the Mega Man 11 figures.
Unfortunately, there won’t be any more Mega Man 8 bit figures being developed and I think in general we will use save that execution of figures for timely introductions around anniversaries, etc. where we can present them in a special fashion."
Although their won't be any more 8-bit toys, it's good to know that fans have responded well to the more "modern" iterations of the character. Surely this will point Jakks in the right direction for future lines. We may yet have more "modern" Mega Man figures!
Were you a fan of the 8-bit line? How do you feel about all this?

The Rockman EXE series is officially crossing over with Rockman X DiVE! The good (and not totally unexpected) news comes to us via the above trailer, recently published by the development team.
The only confirmed playable characters at this time are Rockman.EXE himself and Blues.EXE. The new artwork is pretty swell, wouldn't you say? Always great to see these two side-by-side.
The Rockman EXE event official kicks off on November 25th.
Stay tuned for more details!

Via D Amazing on YouTube, we have an excellent in-hand look at Sentinel's recently released Riobot Falcon Armor X.
This figure was designed by Eiichi Shimizu, a Japanese illustrator known for his work on Linebarrels of Iron, Ultraman and Getter Robo Devolution. With a solid, detailed frame and a wide range of articulation, this is arguable one of best X figures in recent memory. Check it out!

Mega Man Battle Network Overclocked is an ambitious project by Nick West. It's a proof-of-concept fan-game that aspires to be a 3D remake of Battle Network 1. Although early in development, it's already showing great promise. I mean, really; just check out that trailer!
Nick also announced that a demo is coming on Monday, November 30th. It will contain most of the content from Fire Man.EXE scenario. You know, the oven incident that first introduced the world to Lan and Mega Man.EXE. Ah, memories.
You can stay up to date on the game's development via Nick's Twitter profile here! Good luck, sir!

Alongside Joe Ruby, Ken Spears co-created no only Scooby-Doo! but the much-adored Mega Man animated series from the early nineties. Ken Spears worked closely with Capcom to develop the show, which ultimately aired in the U.S in 1994. Ken Spears would go on to direct numerous episodes during the show's two season run.
“Ken will forever be remembered for his wit, his story-telling, his loyalty to family, and his strong work ethic,” said Ken Spears' son, Kevin Spears. "Ken has been a role model for us throughout his life and he will continue to live on in our hearts.”
Cheesy as it was, I absolute adore the Ruby-Spears cartoon. And I have both Ken and Joe to thank. Rest well, king.
Back in September 2019, the Rockman X DiVE development team asked us via survey if we would like to have playable bosses. And now, coinciding with the celebration of the 6th DiVE Festival, the first playable boss (not counting Ferham and Leviathan; they weren't bosses *in* DiVE) will arrive to game on Wednesday. It's none other than Copy X!

Good news, everyone. Monika Toys sends word that their much-anticipated Mega Man 2 Robot Master statues are getting ready to ship later this month. Production is on schedule and they're looking to ship Air Man, Metal Man and Crash Man within the next few weeks to folks who previously placed a pre-order.
Now, here's the important bit. At this time shipping rates are approximately $40.00~$45.00 USD per statue. That price range is not final; it's a bit erratic right now due to the on-going COVID-19 situation. Monika Toys will have a better indication closer to the soon-to-be-announced ship date. The statues' reseller outside of Asia will also contact you closer to the the shipping date with your orders as well.
In the meantime, Monika Toys sent over a sneak peek of the production workshop. Check 'em out after the break!
With Boom Studios' limited Mega Man Fully Charged comic book series winding down, it was only a matter of time before a trade paperback was announced.
While not officially confirmed at this time, Amazon has begun accepting pre-orders for a 144-page trade paperback. This single volume release will include all six issues of the comic for a cool $14.99. It's expected to ship on July 6th, 2021.
The Fully Charged comic has been a real pleasant surprise to many. Some would say it greatly enhances, if not, stands above the animated series. If you've been curious about the Fully Charged comic and haven't been keeping up with individual issues, then this tome may be for you.

Announced today via social media, the popular "X Ver.Ke" figure designed by Keisuke Mizuno for TruForce Collectibles will be available in Rockman X DiVE starting next week on November 11th as a new X skin.
As you can see in the image above, the development team changed the name to "X M.K.Ver.". They didn't reveal what method will be required to obtain it, but the last few skins were only available to purchase from the in-game store with EM (not paid).
This kind of armor design lends itself to an easy recolor. Will we see a "X-Boost" or "X-Kai" version too sometime?
