"Mega Man Fan Forge Challenge" Announced - Get Your Art on Officially-Licensed Goods!

Capcom and For Fans By Fans are teaming up for the "Mega Man Fan Forge Challenge". This event tasks fans to create artwork from ANY Mega Man game for a chance to be featured on officially-licensed Mega Man merchandise. There's prizes to win, too!

Here's the lowdown:

"Fan Forge is an open gallery for artists to submit their fan art and ideas of their favorite properties. There, your designs will be shared and rated by the community for the chance to become real officially licensed products. Selected artwork will earn a commission per item sold on our website, through wholesale and at conventions."

Products include T-shirsts, mousepads, art prints, backpacks, messenger bags, wallets, pillow cases, and general collectibles. You can download templates for each here.

The deadline to submit an entry is September 7th, 2020 at 11:59PM PST. One grand prize winner will receive a Mega Man 11 diorama, two digital game codes of your choice, and Mega Man For Fans Prize Pack. Two runner-ups will have win one digital Mega Man game code of their choice.

If you're the creative type, I definitely think this will be a fun opportunity to show off your stuff! Click here to enter! Be sure to read the complete rules and regulations, too!

  1. I'm pretty skeptical about megaman fan contests at this point. Capcom actually delivers with MH, but between Legends 3 and the Dive fiasco, I'm not feeling it.

The most I would submit is a refractor-shaped USB anyway.

    1. Putting aside the specific case of Mega man, it looks like this is something for fans have been doing for a while. And it seems like they're the one organising things here.
So i guess it will be fine.

  3. Since it's stated that artists get commission, this sounds alright. I'm glad they're not exploiting artists, especially after that Ubisoft/Joseph Gordon Levitt debate.

    1. Hey, now's a better time than any to submit some competent DOS Robot Master art. Whether or not they'll accept it is anyone's guess.
