Mega Man ZX Vol. 1 Out Next Wed; Battle Network Official Complete Works In November

Couple of announcements coming from our good friend Matt Moylan at UDON Entertainment:

First off, Matt sends confirmation that the much delayed Mega Man ZX volume one manga will be in stores next Wednesday, June 2. Online retailers should follow suit shortly after, but comic book shops are guaranteed to have it on the 2nd.

Second, UDON has officially announced Mega Man Battle Network: Official Complete Works. The art book, a compilation of official and conceptual art from the Battle Network series, is slate to release in November 2010. Press release below:

"Mega Man Battle Network reinvented the classic Capcom franchise as an exciting action-RPG, and reintroduced Mega Man to a whole new generation of gamers. Mega Man Battle Network: Official Complete Works collects the stunning artwork of all 6 Battle Network games, as well as Network Transmission and Operate Shooting Star. Inside you'll find character designs, promotional art, rarely seen pieces, and plenty of creator commentary. Mega Man Battle Network: Official Complete Works is a must have addition to any Mega Man fan's collection."

As a bonus, Matt has passed along the tentative book cover.

Many thanks to Matt for keeping us in the loop and UDON for bringing us more Mega Man goodness.

  1. Awesome! This'll go nicely along with Mega Man, Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero Complete Works on my bookshelf.

Now bring Mega Man Star Force Complete Works to the US as well.

  4. I wonder why the press release even bothers to mention Operate Shooting Star, even though chances are high it will never be released in the States (or much less, released under that name)?

Anyways, November, huh? Should be able to find a job by then and buy it.

  5. Has Udon ever had a delay that they didn't blame on some printing error? Seriously, either get a new printing company, or take responsibility for your own delays.

  7. @Anonymous: Funny guy ;) No, as stated this book as delayed due to printer issues.

  10. Errr... that didn't sound like it include PoN or LoN. Could... someone like... get in touch with him about that? I would be really terribly disappointed if it didn't include the two cell phone games as well, even if they weren't released in the US... it could be touted as bonus material or something, I don't know... that just... really needs to be in there.

  11. I can confirm art from both mobile phone games are in there. There's not a whole lot, but both receive some attention.

  13. That's just too bad that it's not in Europe. And I can't buy it anyway...

  16. It's getting harder and harder to look forward to new Udon material since I'm just about at the point that I expect everything to come out at least 2 months later than the release date, but darned if I'm not excited for the EXE art book!

  17. @Protodude: Well, there's art in the Japanese version of the artbook... and again, there is not a lot, but there are some new things. What I'm more worried about is if this will remain intact for the English edition. Is that what you meant you could confirm? Sorry for the trouble, I'm just really worried about this and could make or break how happy I am about it...

  18. JDAManson:
By confirm, I meant the art for both is in the Japanese version, yes. Considering UDON has been very faithful to all the Complete Works English releases, I say there's nothing to worry about and they'll most likely be included. Even in the English versions of MM and MMXOCW, art for games not released outside of Japan were still included.

  19. @Protodude: Hmmm. I'm still a little wary, but I'll have some faith in Udon. I really hope they choose to include the cell phone games, despite not being mentioned in the press release.

  20. Gonna wait for the Shooting Star Complete Works.

The only one other than the RM20, that's actually worth getting.

    IMO.

  21. @Saito

It says Shooting Star is part of the book.

What I really want is a Legends CW. Maybe when Legends 3 comes out.

  22. @Cain Highwind: Shooting Star series and Operate Shooting Star are two entirely different things.

That said, Shooting Star OCW was made in Japan about half a year before EXE OCW. However, the chances of it being brought over to the States is highly unlikely, due to general unpopularity. Saito's probably one of only about four or five people I've seen on this blog that would have any serious interest in purchasing it.

  23. I would buy it...

And UDON has already hinted at localizing it anyway, as I recall. The whole watching your favorite STARS on a NETWORK or whatever thing.

  24. I would like to take this opportunity to say that if a Star Force OCW was released in America, I would TOTALLY buy it. The character designs from that series are too awesome, especially the Mega Man from said series.

  25. I already have two copies of the Japanese one (got an extra by mistake!) but it wouldn't hurt to get an English version. I'll be able to read the comments written all over the book. ^^
