New Kotobukiya Rockman X Models Kits to Be Revealed on August 1st

Capcom and Kotobukiya will broadcast "Rockman X Plastic Model Talk Live Version 1.5" on YouTube this Saturday, August 1st. The two-hour long program will feature Rockman Unity's Ucchy-san and a key member of Kotobukiya to present the latest information on Rockman X model kits.

During the show, fans can expect to see the re-appearance of the previously announced Fourth Armor kit and brand-new product reveals. According to Ucchy-san, the pixelated image above is a "proposal" for a new kit. It's difficult to make out what's happening here, but it doesn't resemble any known armor. We'll hopefully learn more soon.

The live stream begins August 1st at 19:00 JST. Stay tuned for more details!

  1. It kinda looks like X's armor from Command Mission. Those reddish streaks look like the scarf.
A completely new kind of armor would be cool, too.

  2. That couldn't be normal X with 1st game armor boots on, could it?

  5. It might be a basic X for the Ultimate Armor's glider form.

  6. It sort of resembles the rockman online armor, but I doubt that'd be it

  7. I think that’s X-Kai or the Sound Holic armor

  8. 2 hour program for these? Huh... I'll look forward to your cliff notes version.
Hopefully they announce some retooling of Zero.
I hope they release more armors, but not make original stuff. Not with a release schedule of 2 a year. They aren't Bandai.

  9. It looks like regular X aside from the lower legs which are armored, perhaps the proposed idea is a Dr. Light capsule? Also at first I got Command Mission vibes from that image. Either way I am interested.

  10. I just finished another one of these kits, and was reminded how much I don't like them.
Kotobukiya has a long way to go with their quality control and engineering, and their kits are way too expensive for what they are. I don't usually pass on big Mega Man releases, and I love model kits, but I'm going to pass on most of these kits unless I hear there's a big quality increase.

    1. I understand where your coming from. I'll still get the 4th armor for sure, Probably going to get the Rising Fire, and I am leaning towards Zero and Nightmare Zero despite some real issues I have with the design.

It's a shame Bandai didn't pick this up. They crap out new Gunpla every other day and have dozens of customization kits and you can buy. They could re-visit the Mega Armor series, same scale or larger, preferably the same size as the D-Arts, but with a much higher degree of quality and customization. With their current model practices, they would have looked pretty good too. They could have released the armor sets as add on kits just like the original Mega Armor launch. At the size of the 1/144 RG (which I enjoy building) they would have probably been cheaper too, around $40 or so for a complete fig.

      One can dream.

  12. The color scheme reminds me of X4's Ultimate Armor, but some colors don't seem to be in the right places.

  13. I doubt the two hour programm will be just for one figure. So i'll wait to see if they anounce anything else.

  14. JESUS CHRIST? MOOOOOORE? Both Zeros, Red X and Fourth Armor X aren't even out yet and they're announcing more! There goes all my savings :)

  15. Again? Good grief, X and Zero do not exist in a vacuum! Will someone please commission figures of other characters, possibly the stage bosses, Iris, Colonel, or literally anyone else?

  16. Well phooey.

I can't speak Japanese, but from what I can tell, that was damn disappointing.

  17. Seems like a Holic style armor with a color variant to me.
