Rockman X DiVE and Zero Series Crossover Event is Now Live

Yesterday we spoke about the content update delay for Rockman X DiVE. And fortunately, we didn't have to wait long at all! The content update is already live and the Mega Man Zero Series has officially joined the Deep Log.

You can check out the breakdown of all the new content below!

First we have to address that the update brought about two major problems. First, Android users couldn't update the App via the Google Play Store. This made it impossible to play the game. Fortunately there was a workaround; deleting the app from your device and installing the apk provided on the game's official website. The issue has since been resolved.

Second, although iOS player were safe from this particular issue, they currently face difficulties logging in due an abnormal issue with Facebook. The team is working to fix it and they promise to compensate players accordingly.

Now that we have taken care of the bad news, let's talk about the crossover and all the new content!

First we have a two week sign-in event that will yield 440 EM and the Mega Man Zero Series banner that will run from today until July 23 at 15:59 (UTC+8). As we discussed previously, this is not the only way to get Zero. You will, however, have to spend EM if you want Leviathan or the Nightmare Sword.

Upon logging in, players will also receive 200 EM as compensation for the update delay.

Now, let's look at the skills and passive skills for Zero and Leviathan.

Zero Knuckle:

Inflicts 255.92% attack damage to targets within range. Targets are rendered immobile.

Shield Boomerang:

Hold up the energy shield to guard against bullet attacks that come from the front to reduce damage taken to 70%. When the shield is up, you can launch it and it will return to you after traveling some distance in midair.

Damage caused by the boomerang after penetration will be reduced to 25% and if you perform an attack, the shield will be interrupted.

Passive Skills:

  • Harden: Increase damage dealt from boomerang by 40% after penetration.
  • Show Time: Gain a shield that grants invulnerability when using the Zero knuckle.
  • Shield Enhance: When you defend against an attack successfully using the Energy Shield,  damage received is reduced to 56%.
  • Life Steal: When you hit a target using the Zero Knuckle, there's a chance you will steal the  target's life energy recovering HP equivalent to 26.4% of the attack.

Water Circle:

Wield a Javelin and inflict 150.00% damage to targets within range and then use a more powerful stage 2 slash.

Spirit of the Ocean:

Summon an ice dragon that deals 255.00% damage to the target. The ice dragon has its own damage register, and hitting everything can deal 1.42 times more damage.

Passive Skills:

  • Marine Snow: When attacked, there is a chance to summon a Marine Snow that will automatically chase after enemies. The Marine Snow will explode after making contact with the target, or when its attacked or after 10 seconds, dealing damage to targets within range.
  • Mobility: The preparation time of the Water Circle is reduced by 20%.
  • Frost Javelin: When using the Spirit of the Ocean, three additional Frost Javelins with tracking effects are fired, dealing 31.88%  damage to the target.
  • Snow Enhancement: Increase the Marine Snow damage multiplayer by 20%.
  • Loss of Temperature: Activate the skill and hit to sow the target, target's movement speed is  reduced by 42.67%.

"The Savior Has Come" event takes place from today until July 22 at 22:00 (UTC+8). The event works exactly like the Mega Man Classic event. You challenge the stage to get coupons and later you can exchange the coupons for tickets to unlock rewards in a list divided in five phases.

When you unlock the best reward, you can move to the next phase or stay and keep unlocking all rewards. This event is where you will acquire the memories needed to unlock Zero, but only the memories necessary to unlock him. Unlike Mega Man, you won't get extra memories to rank Zero up.

There is plenty of time to get all the rewards and, again, don't forget that the dev team gave us a head start with 1000 coupons as a compensation for the content update delay.

The event takes place in the Area Forest stage, which is fairly long. You will find yourself collecting four purple hidden elements to the get one of the completion stars (more stars, more coupons) of which two are hidden behind doors that won't open until you locate and destroy a red Reploid.

The level in general is fun but it will become a chore to play after awhile. This is primarily due to a section that slows the pace down significantly with falling platforms that you have to climb.

The best part comes when you reach the boss room to fight Copy X. From the starting animation where he changes from the his near-duplicate of X's body to his first form, the combat is a joy to play and to watch. It's one of the best in the game since launch.

The new Race Mode and Backup System go hand in hand. Let's look at Race Mode first.

Race Mode has two modes: Combat Power Mode and Challenge Mode. In Combat Power Mode you can use your current power level, while in Challenge Mode players can only use the combat power specified by the game.

This is pretty much pointless because these two modes are about speed, not power. The faster you finish, the more "Sync Devices" you will get (from rank C to rank S). What's more, you will be competing against 3 players to see who is finishes with the best time. At the end of the day, you will receive  "Proficient Memory Cards" and "Weapon Memory supply Box II" depending how you rank among the 3 players competing with you.

The cool thing about this event? The stage changes daily! A new challenge every day and a new opportunity to get more rewards. Hands down, it's my favorite mode in the game!

Now, how does this tie on with the Backup System? The "Sync Devices" you get in Race Mode are used to unlock slots where you can store your weapons to increase overall player power. At this time, there are 7 slots that you can unlock based on your player level.

When you unlock a slot, you can use materials to increase the "Ability Conversion Rate" which will increase the amount of power extracted from the weapon (on a scale of 2% to 10%). There are many factors that affect how much your player power will grow. The game mentions that the higher the HP and attack of the weapon, the more the player power will increase. However, there are other parameters that play a part as well, but the game encourages players to discover them.

This is a great idea to increase your player power using weapons you normally don't use.

This update has brought a lot of new content to the game. There's enough to keep you entertained for hours. For your convenience, here's a list of the other pieces of new content that we covered previously:

-Mettaur Gigant can be challenged if you have player level 80 and Bit if you have player level 85.

-Stage Completion Master Part 2 Event: Complete Story Stage 7, 8 and 9 to get Weapon EXP Program III and Weapon Memory Supply Box II.

-Level Cap increased, max level is 90 now.
-New Story Stages: Chapter 9 (Normal) and Chapter 7 (hard).
-Difficulty 5 open for the events DiVE Trigger enhancement, Zenny, Armor enhancement and EXP.
-Co-op Stage Chapter 7 (Factory).
-New DiVE Trigger: Ray Splasher.
-Co-op Mode is now available to play in Single Player.

You can read more about skill adjustments, bug fixes and a few new items added to the store here.

By all accounts, this is one of, if not the best content update since launch! Let us know in the comments what do you think about it!

  2. Still waiting for this to arrive on the US app store. I know I could just download the Singapore release, but I really don't want to have to go through the effort of making alternate itunes accounts.

  4. For some reason after the update my PS4 controller's button inputs aren't working with the game anymore, but my D-Pad still does, which sucks, its nowhere as fun playing with touch screen controls.

    1. After this update, the game resets gamepad controls for some players, it's explicitly mentioned in linked news. Did you try to rebind buttons in game settings?

    2. Yeah, but for some reason its acting like the buttons don't work.

    3. You have to tap on the button you want to map, then tap on the small box that says "Gamepad". It's unfortunately not as simple as it was before.
