Mega Man: The Board Game Shipping Soon (Updated)

Did you back Jasco Games' officially-licensed Mega Man board game? Keep an eye on that mailbox: your copy is due to arrive soon.

Finalized copies are due to hit Jasco's warehouse later today, the company announced. Soon after, their warehouse will begin to ship orders directly to backers. Shipments will include the base game and any add-ons you may have opted for.

Customs are really cutting it close with this one, mind you. Chances are slim to none you'll receive your copy before year's end. Depending on where in North America you live, the next two weeks sound like a very promising window.

UPDATE: If you have any final address changes for your order, send them to shane@jascogames.com by midnight tomorrow night. All orders will ship immediately after thatdeadline.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 3DS to Include Missing Artwork

Keen-eyed Mega Man Legacy Collection players no doubt noticed a severe lack of U.S Mega Man boxes in Museum mode. For one reason or another these classic packages were omitted in the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions. However, according to the latest batch of Rockman Classics Collection screens, the Nintendo 3DS version will rightfully include the missing art.

Besides the U.S boxes, there's several other missing pieces as well that might just find their way to the 3DS version. You can see what those are at #20's place here.

At this time there is no indication if the Museum will be patched on home consoles and PC to include these missing pieces. We should have a better idea closer to February, if not sooner.

Your Mega Man Helmets Are Finally Shipping

You remember this thing, right? Though it won't arrive in time for Christmas (as originally intended), Capcom's official Mega Man helmet looks to be hitting mailboxes by January 20th, 2016.

If you pre-ordered through Capcom's online store you should have received a confirmation e-mail earlier today. If not, hang in there. These things tend to fluctuate case-by-case.

Thanks for the tip, ADW

Official Rockman EXE Plushies Are Headed Your Way (Updated)

Well this is a bit... random. In recent times we've seen a huge influx of classic series goods. Come early 2016, though, Capcom turns its merchandising gaze to Rockman EXE with a pair of new plushies.

Say hello to the "Rockman EXE All Star Series". Rockman EXE himself, Blues and a Mettaur spearhead this new line, a follow-up to San-ei's previous Rockman plushies. Both characters are due in Japan on February 25th, 2016. Pre-orders are live on Amazon Japan and Hobby Stock. There's a very good chance we'll see these overseas as San-ei's plushies typically populate pop-culture retailers in North America.

Update: Blues spotted!

Everything We Know About What Happened Between Classic and X

The interim between the Mega Man classic and X series is an on-going subject of debate and speculation among fans. While Capcom have gone on record to state an official outline exists, the house that built the "Blue Bomber" prefers to leave these events up to the imagination. That's all well and good – however, there's just enough information out there to piece most of it together. Let's dig in!

Tomorrow's North American Wii U eShop update includes Mega Man Zero 4 and Mega Man Battle Network 5 (Team Proto Man and Team Colonel). Battle Network 5 will be $6.99 each. Mega Man Zero 4 will be $7.99.

Mega Man X8 is Coming to PlayStation 3 in Japan (Updated)

UPDATE 2: Confirmed via CapKobun, X8 is a PS2 Classic on PlayStation 3. Nevertheless your input is still being gathered on the prospects of a PS4 version.

UPDATE: While the game is currently slated to hit PSN today, it has come to my attention Sony did not specify which console - PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4. The game does not have a hub on PSN yet; merely referenced here in a holiday lottery as an eligible prize. We'll keep an ear to the ground.

Original post: Mega Man X8 is set to arrive as a PS2 Classic on PlayStation 4 today in Japan.

No word yet on availability outside of Japan... stay tuned!

Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 are 70% Off with Xbox Live Gold

If for some reason you don't own either Mega Man 9 or Mega Man 10, you might want to swoop up this sweet little deal. Both games have been dropped to a mere $2.99 on Xbox Live Gold (normally $9.99 a piece) for a limited time.

Of note you can only play them on Xbox 360. Though Microsoft is doubling down on backwards compatibility on Xbox One, Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 have yet to make the jump. If you buy them now, though, you'll be ready when the time comes.

Thanks, Wario64!

The Art of Ryo Takamisaki - From Net Navis to Demon Girls

For fans and collectors of Mega Man artwork, I thought I'd introduce you to a great source of Ryo Takamisaki material. Having written and illustrated both Mega Man Battle Network and Star Force manga adaptations from 2001 to 2008, Takamisaki's archives contain a wealth of Mega Man content.

Archie's Mega Man #55 Goes on Sale December 23rd

The final issue of Archie Comics' Mega Man, pre-hiatus, will go on sale December 23rd, the publisher announced. It will hit stores physically and digitally the same day.

What's more, Betty and Veronica affirm this is the definitive release date. Sounds like we'll be saying au revoir in just a few weeks!

Which PS2 Mega Man Game Would You Like to See on PS4 First?

The first of what will hopefully be many PS2 Classics arrived on PlayStation 4 over the weekend. Every game has been upscaled to 1080p with additional Trophy support, Remote Play, Activity Feeds, and Second Screen. More titles are naturally in the pipeline; we at Rockman Corner, though, are interested in what the future holds for the PS2 Mega Man games.

A "friend" of mine wants to know which of these three PS2 Mega Man games you'd like to see on PlayStation 4 first: Mega Man X7, Mega Man X Command Mission or Mega Man X8. Anniversary Collection and X Collection are not a choice (sorry). Speak your choice in the comments below.

There is no guarantee the favored choice will move forward... this opportunity merely exists to gauge interest; to establish a realm of possibility. Nevertheless, certain parties will be watching this post.

Have fuuuuun!

Jump Festa Will Host Rockman Stage Show

Capcom Japan recently announced that there will be a Rockman stage show at Jump Festa 2015 on December 20th. The show will promote the Japanese release of Rockman Classics Collection. Rockman Unity's Ucchy-san and Kazuhiro Tsuhiya - reportedly the game's producer in Japan - will be on-hand to speak about the game.

Under the pseudonym “TSUCCHIE”, Tsuhiya previously worked on Rockman 5 as a debugger and Rockman 7 as a programmer. He would go on to produce 2012’s Asura’s Wrath. It's worth noting Tsuhiya is absent from Mega Man Legacy Collection's credits, so it's interesting Capcom Japan refers to him as Classic Collection's producer.

It's quite possible he's playing a larger role with the Japan release. Or, and maybe this is a bit of a stretch, he's actually our mysterious new series producer. Either way we'll probably end up hearing more about his role come the 20th

Mega Man #55 is MIA This Week

Astute comic readers have no doubt noticed an empty spot on this week's newsstands. As you may recall, Archie Comics delayed the 55th and final issue of Mega Man from November 18th to December 2nd. Well it's the 2nd... and the issue is quite literally nowhere to be found.

Red flags went up when, according to The Mega Man Network, solicitations were absent from PREVIEWSworld listings. Issue #55 does not appear in the "New Releases" page for the week of 12/2, let alone any core Archie comic (save for an Archie Double Digest). What's more the publisher's official Twitter hasn't said a word. It's all quiet on that front.

Curiously, Comixology has the issue up for pre-order with a December 9th release date. Pending word from Archie, though, it's safe to say this may be a placeholder date. We'll keep an ear to the ground - stay tuned.

Mega Man 3 in Unreal 4 is Looking Better and Better

Handré De Jager's Mega Man 3 Unreal Engine 4 project continues onward unabated. A new video published this weekend shows off even more of Gemini Man's stage, including a fight with the 'ol narcissist himself. Various weapons and even Rush Adapters have been implemented, too! It's worth a watch.

De Jager hopes to release a fully playable demo before the end of the year. It might turn into a fully-fledged fan-game, but right now he's just having fun experimenting with Unreal 4.

Rockman & Forte Manga Reprint Due in Early 2016

Hot on the heels of the Rockman 8 reprints, Koji Izuki's Rockman & Forte adaptation will return to Japanese bookstores in January, 2016. A single volume, 402-page reprint is currently in the works, which is said to include all nine chapters from its original 1998-1999 Comic Bom Bom run. The book will also contain never-before-seen tribute artwork from Hitoshi Ariga.

Pre-orders are currently available through Fukkan and Rakuten for 2,268 yen ($18.46). Customers who pre-order through Fukkan will be eligible to win exclusive artwork autographed by Izuki via lottery.

As it stands, an official English localization is not in the cards. Maybe UDON will pick it up one of these days...

Koji Izuki's Rockman 8 Volume 2 Cover Revealed

Due in Japan next month, the second volume of Koji Izuki's revised Rockman 8 adaptation. Spanning 260 pages, the book covers chapters 8-13 of the 1997-1998 comic.

While not drastic, it's said various adjustments have been made to interior artwork, personally handled by Izuki. To further differentiate this volume from previous prints, new cover art has been provided. Great action shot of the Rock Ball, no?

Pre-orders are currently open through Amazon Japan and Fukkan.

The Legend of Rockman X Arrives in Thailand

A few years ago a group of tenacious Mega Man fans published a classic series history book in Thailand. They're following it up with a new entry titled The Legend of Rockman X.

As one might expect, the book offers fans a complete compendium of X series knowledge. Each game in the series is covered, featuring in-depth character profiles, artwork and other fun tidbits. There's an entire section devoted to Mega Missions too. It's the next best thing to a hypothetical "Maverick Hunter Field Guild." You can view some sample images here.

Right now, the book can be ordered directly from RockPage's Facebook. Simply contact the administrated and he'll hook you up. Be aware, though, it's written entirely in Thai. I found it to be a neat commodity despite the language barrier. It's a true labor of love from die-hard fans to fans. Check it out, if you are so inclined!

The Gold Mega Man Amiibo Won't Be Coming to Europe

We've known for a little while that Mega Man Legacy Collection won't be seeing a physical release in Europe. Further confirmation came yesterday with the release of a new trailer. Today, Capcom UK has confirmed the gold Mega Man Amiibo (bundled with the North American-exclusive special edition) will not be distributed in Europe either.

Even though this particular figure isn't hitting PAL territories, Capcom UK reminded fans that the regular Mega Man Amiibo will unlock the same content. Fans won't be missing out on those extra challenges... but Amiibo collector's will be left yearning for the gold!

X and Zero Tamashii Buddies Priced and Dated

First they were giants, now they're itty-bitty. X and Zero are next in line in Bandai's Tamashii Buddies series. Each measures at about 9cm in height and includes a display stand featuring Mega Man X's introductory stage.

Bandai plans to roll these out in April, 2016 for 1,620 yen a piece (roughly $13 US). Pre-orders go live in the days ahead. Before you buy, be advised these figures are not articulated. They're meant to be shown off on a shelf or, if you're feeling fancy, act as bookends.

Mega Man #55 Delayed to December 2nd

The final issue of Archie Comics' Mega Man was supposed to hit newsstands on Wednesday, November 18th. However, the official Archie Comics Twitter reveals issue #55 has been delayed by to Wednesday, December 2nd. A three week delay.

Archie did not provide a reason for the delay, though they "promise it will be worth the wait!" Without much to go on, all we can do is speculate. Trouble with the printers? Panels need some extra polish? Has the hiatus been cancelled? Who knows!

If we hear anything else we'll let you know. Hang tight!

Rockman Classics Collection Physical Limited Edition Announced

Mega Man Legacy Collection is coming to Japan as Rockman Classics Collection on February 25th, 2016. Nintendo 3DS-savvy customers can pick up the game by itself or a spiffy limited edition with a few bonus godds.

It would be great if the North American 3DS release came with all this stuff. At the very least we gotta have that cover and themes!

See the Original Mega Man Cartoon Pitch, Digitally Restored

By now you probably know that the goofy (but lovable) Ruby-Spears Mega Man cartoon almost looked quite different. The original sales pitch featured a style more faithful to the classic series, featuring smooth animation and high-octane action. For your viewing pleasure, here's that same pitch again – digitally restored in the highest quality yet!

The footage comes from the original promotional VHS tape, not a copy. I spent a good six months tracking it down. The tape procured from a one Radiant Paragon, the original owner circa 1994-1995. Previous footage (the one you've seen before) comes from a copy of a copy, distributed without Radiant Paragon's permission and proper credit. With her blessing, we're happy to present the original tape.

After the break, you can see a couple trailers that preceded the cartoon promo. Pretty cool stuff, if I do say so myself. A big thanks to KeijiDragon for handling the remastering, encoding and conversion process. Be sure to hit up his YouTube channel for more VHS-to-digital video game promos.

Mega Man Xbox Avatar Gear Removed from Marketplace

We're not exactly sure when or why it happened, but all of the Mega Man gear from the Xbox Live Marketplace has been removed. Everything from the Mega Buster to the helmet has been de-listed from both the browser and console storefront.

Prof9 first noticed the vanishing act around October 10th. The helmet - and only the helmet - was still listed then.

Developed by Flashman Studios, the gear first launched on Xbox Live in 2012 to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary. It consisted the Mega Buster, Mega Helmet, and even costumes of the original six Robots Masters. At the time of this writing there's been no word from Capcom, Microsoft or Flashman Studios. If we learn anything more, we'll let you know.

Vile MK-2 to Appear in Project X Zone 2

It's been a little while since we last talked about Project X Zone 2 in this space. There hasn't been anything substantial about it, at least in terms of Mega Man content. But now we've got something kinda neat to share. Vile is back, and this time he's bringing his super spiffy MK-2 body.

Vile's return was revealed earlier today on the PXZ2 stream. Vile will once again oppose the Maverick Hunters as a boss, although no gameplay was featured in the stream. One can only speculate what new attacks he'll bring to the fray!

Also, here's hoping for a arranged X3 Vile theme. I'd wager it's happening.

Thanks, CragMan241!

First Mega Man Legacy Collection 3DS Screenshots

Capcom has released a batch of screenshots for Mega Man Legacy Collection on 3DS. You can view them all here. You won't find anything terribly earth shattering - just a nice peek at the menus and dual screen format.

The 3DS version is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2016 (physical and digital). It will arrive with extra features not present in the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions. The 3DS version will have an additional 10 challenges that can be unlocked with the Mega Man amiibo figure. Stereoscopic 3D display is also anticipated.

More news on the 3DS version as it comes!
