Vita & 3DS Stretch Goal Added for Mighty No. 9

The news you've been waiting for is finally here. The Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter has officially announced a $3,500,000 stretch goal for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS versions. Comcept and Inti Creates are looking to partner with Abstraction Games to handle porting duties, with both versions due to hit the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Network, respectively.

Vita and 3DS versions will soon be added to the list of available systems to choose from, so every backer who is set to receive a download version of Mighty No. 9 can choose either of these as the system for their game download, instead of console or PC.

In other news, the Kickstarter is now offering physical copies of the Steam PC, Mac and Linux versions of Mighty No. 9 for an additional price. Everyone who pledged $20 or above is eligible to receive the game on disc or USB. For those details, hit up today's Kickstarter update. Keep up the support, folks! Let's go the distance!

  1. I'd love a 3DS version, but I really can't see this happening. Shame.

    1. Provided the game sells well enough I'm sure portable ports will happen eventually even if it doesn't get met.

      It'll just take longer.

  2. Not trying to be negative here but isn't this stretching things a bit dangerously thin?

  3. I don't want to sound like a whiner, but it's little too late. They should of had the Vita/3DS goal around the Intro Stage goal. Screw the PS4 and XBOne. Most gamers that like those systems probably wouldn't like a game like this type of game anyway.

    1. That's your assumption. Its your opinion.

    2. Now that's just silly. I'm willing to bet almost everyone who owns a Vita or 3DS will end up owning either the PS4 or XB1 and possibly both by the time the game is actually released. There aren't that many handheld-exclusive gamers.

  4. That's what I was thinking. This much just to get Vita and 3DS ports? I may as well kiss my hopes for a 3DS port happening good-bye. Not that it still couldn't happen without needing a stretch goal to be met but... ugh, seriously Comcept, the amount you're asking for these relatively simple stretch goals (the extras I mean) are just ridiculous...

    1. Yes, because porting a game to a totally different plattaform it's free... It doesn't need any extra time, money, effort, programmers, developers, testers, etc...

    2. Especially when it needs to be optimized and even potentially redesigned for a smaller screen size.

    3. Excuse me? I did not say anything about porting not requiring money. It's a given fact that all things need money to be produced and to get done. I do realize that. I am merely just voicing my irritation at the amount they're asking for this with such little time left. I'm not the only one who thinks this.

  5. This needs to be on Vita, forget 3DS. I have a 3DS and love it, but this would rule on the Vita. The stretch goal for that should be switched with the next gen one for sure though.

  6. Wait a minute.. I understand that 3DS is most popular portable but PSVITA is the most popular as well ? No, 3DS is the most popular portable and best sell out there.

Anyway, I doubt it will reach that goal. 3DS would be nice but that price is not enough to reach the goal anyway. I hope that I am wrong.

  7. Next goal: $10,000,000 and they will release a Beck figurine with a keychain!

  8. I'd rather have the physical copy over digital. Wish they would have a physical only option. Cause for an extra $26, I'd upped my tier. I'm already spending $60 to get the physical stuff and plus they don't even have a physical for PS3.
