More Street Fighter X Mega Man Talk From Hui and Svensson

The folks a Kotaku have posted an interview Capcom USA Senior Vice President Christian Svensson and Street Fighter X Mega Man designer Seo Zong Hui.

Hui delves into the technicalities behind the game -- his motivations, design choices and so forth -- and Svensson talks about why the game even exists in the first place (for free, no less). Moreover, he drops some hints that SFxMM is only the beginning of 25th anniversary plans for Mega Man. There's a sense of ambiguity here that leaves me somewhat hopeful for more. Nevertheless, I'm maintaining realistic expectations. You probably should, too.

Head over to Kotaku for the full interview.

  1. Btw, I somehow missed this point: is this game only for west MM fans? I mean, I didn't see any note that this game was offered for Japanese players.

  2. Nothing was announced for Japan. However, there's nothing stopping them from downloading it. It'll be up on Unity.

  3. I don't think there will be any region locking for downloads, or what have you, but I doubt there'll be a Japanese text option for what little text is there.

I suspect the Unity site will crash and go down on the 17th from so many people grabbing it.

  4. That's the point. While Japanese fans can just grab the game from unity, it's like they're unnecessary, they are not invited to celebrate this small but still good event.
My disfavor for Capcom gradually shifts to disfavor for CoJ only.
