New Legends 3 Prototype Version Details

Hard to believe we'll be playing Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version later this month, eh? Capcom's still hush-hush on a specific release date, but to keep out appetites whet, they've released a batch of new details.

According to 4Gamer, Prototype Version will boast over 10 playable missions, varying from battling rampaging Reaverbots to exploring the deep depths of Ruins. You'll be able to interact with some of the game's newest characters including Aero and her Bright Brat brethren, and have the freedom to explore areas and towns at your own pace.

Dispersed in-between missions, players will be treated to animated story boards that depict the game's events, which appear just before a mission. It remains to be seen if these "cutscenes" will make their way into the final game, however.

Legends 3: Prototype Version will launch alongside the Nintendo eShop later this month. Check out 4Gamer's scoop for more screens!

  1. The cutscenes will make it into the final game for sure. Honestly, I'll be waiting to get my hands on this baby.

  3. So...there's no need to worry about the cancellation? :D

  4. Well, even if it would get cancelled after all, at least we'll still have this :P

  5. I'd say the current ones are jsut to keep the size and that smaller so they could put more gameplay in. I'd say the game will have fully animated ones and not these ones.

  6. @iliekmudkips: Confirmation for you: the image shown for the drawing board-style cutscene has the text "Demo Image" in the top right corner.

    We can reasonably expect something with motion-- drawn or using the game engine-- for the full release.

  9. It definitely sounds like it's worth $2, that's for sure (far more, in fact). I just gotta sort out the wireless connection problems with my 3DS, and then I should be good to go.

    This WAS the reason I got a 3DS (so early on, anyway), so this better fucking work.

  10. How much is this going to cost? I'm willing to pay this out for random people just so they'll try it and to ensure the game's success :P

    About 2 or 3 USD.

    It looks like it's just above "1 Dollar App", and way below "GT 5 Prologue".

    They want to see who is interested. A dollar or less would get too many results due to being an amount that one could spend without care for the actual product. More than 3 dollars and they would be asking you to pay too much more. 2/3 dollars is that sweet spot, where you need to want to buy it, but it won't cost you more than a cheap meal.

  12. I wish I could download it! ;_;

    I hope it's not a temporary download, or (if it has exclusive content like the DASH 2 Episode 1 that isn't in the final) that Capcom include it with the final version like they did with the PSP version of DASH 2.

  13. What I really hope what Capcom can do are... Put Subtitle during the cutscenes. =P
    I am hearing impaired. <.<;

  14. @anon2: I wouldn't be too sure. We'll just have to wait and see how many people actually buy the demo. I would, myself, if I could afford a 3DS, but I currently cannot.

  17. I'd like subtitles too. They should at least make them optional, that way everyone's happy =P

  18. They have no idea how okay I would be with a Legends anime. :I

  19. I hope the "missions" play out in the style of Legends games instead of Misadventures. If there's not a city to run through between them, some of the magic just won't be there.

  20. @Rockman
    It is not what I means. I mean I hope Capcom put subtitle in Legend 3 like they did to Megaman ZX and Advent.

  21. I wonder if Elysium will be fully explorable in the game? What Mega Man is doing up there anyway? He, Yuna and Sera are the most important (at least the ones alive) in the place, they don't know how it is and how to leave it? There is only 1 shuttle pod? How did Data return?

    It would actually be funny if Roll and Tron use the rocket, and at the time they get to Elysium, Mega also found a way to return and Barrell tells him they went after him.

  22. This going to sound crazy...but I can't help but think how Aero resembles Geo from Star Force (facial feature wise). Of course there are differences, but that's what I thought of her design (sorry, several months late on this one if it hasn't been stated already).

  23. @Anon above:
    Heeey you're right, Aero does sorta look like Subaru/Geo hahaha, maybe its the art style?

    And the glasses on the other guy looks like a visualiser
    (sorry I'm not too familiar with their names *hasnt played the legends series* )
