Mega Man X Collection Gets Re-Printed

With each passing year since its release, supply of the Mega Man X Collection, both used and new copies, grow few and far between. However, it seems the collection has reemerged at retail, with a new low price to boot.

Reports from users of the Cheap Ass Gamer Forums indicate that new copies of the collection were sold at GameStop during the retailer's Buy 2, Get 1 Free sale for a budget price of $19.99. What's more, Hubba Games has also seen a re-supply, too, stocking an estimated 600 new copies of the game as of last week.

The re-printed X Collection apparently comes in the new flimsy, eco-friendly PS2 DVD cases, which noticeably lack the memory card slip above the disc holder. The new packaging alone is a clear indicator the game has seen an official resupply. There's been no sign of a GameCube reprint, currently.

If you've been looking for a brand new copy of X Collection, you just might be in luck. Call your store of choice ahead of time and see if they have it in stock before making the trip!

  1. Eh? What's all this then?

What are they up to, here? Are they making an even better MMX Collection for the new consoles? Is this happening due to Zero in MvsC3? Or is Capcom about to do something new with MMX?

Besides Megaman Online. Makes no sense to sell this here at this time since MO won't be available in the U.S. right off the bat.

This is just a reprint. It's the same game, just in a slimmer case.

Besides, if they were going to redo the X Collection and make it better, they'd have to shred everything they hacked up on this version and start over... starting with the volume controls. Was anyone else annoyed at how quiet it was?

  3. I don't suppose this re-print will be making its way to Europe, seeing how we missed out on the Mega Man X collection last time?

Oh who am I kidding, they don't give a crap about us european fans.

  4. I was more concerned with the lack of SPC emulation or, even, proper music looping through another method.

    Also, the dithering.

Well yes, this is a reprint, but I'm talking about an entirely new MMX Collection made for PS3/Wii/360, maybe even including X7 and X8. And the Xtreme games, possibly?

But probably not. Just wondering why the reprint after all this time.

  6. You mean those Slim DVD cases that can barely hold the discs right? God, I hate those

  7. Agree. A new collection should be made, probably with all games from both Anniversary and X Collections plus a few more like the 7 Game Boy games, Mega Man & Bass and Mega Man's Soccer. Maybe even JP games like RockBoard and SAR. The Sonic Mega and Gems Collections had Japanese games on them, but the MMX Collection cut the voices from X6...

  9. all this talk of a new mega man collection made me think of a name: mega man mega collection, and to make money, they could pull a sega, and release different variations of it with some games added, and some removed. hmm... mega man mega collection, mega man mega collection plus, mega man ultimate collection, etc.

  10. Nobody get your hopes up. Why would they not print more copies? MM has been popular recently? They have this set sitting around that they could be producing. Maybe it's an experiment to gauge interest in the X series, but I doubt they have any plans to do anything right now.

  12. for some reason, i foresee an increase in the views of my mega man x series hacking videos. i wonder why? shame they're all for the gamecube version. oh well.

  13. Only for the PS2? Bit of a shame really. Hope they'll do reprints of the other two, but it seems unlikely.

  14. You know, up to this day, I'm still wondering why they never made an X-Box version of this game. Even Anniversary Collection made its way over to all three systems.

This is more of an off-Topic thing, but something you were wondering a while back.

HeroManX IS Alantor, actually. I just looked the email up and seen that he posts on forums with multiple different names: Musashi, Alantor, HeroManX, and MegaKOS-MOSfan.

A lot of the time, he even replies to his own accounts, treating them as they're separate people.

...Seriously? Wow. Even I've had alternate accounts in the past, but I've never actually had them talk to one another.

Yes, I know I have diferent names on forums, cause at first, I was Musashi, but I sorta got tired of that name but still uses it in a site that I liked, so I started making difrenert names on forums, but one forum in patriclalr that I don't want to mentioned, bullied me when I was MegaKOS-MOSFan or other names, so in here, I'm known as HeroManX, but I don't replied to my own accounts like they're seprated people, whoever made that up must be pretty stupid.

So Krazy Monkey and some people, I'm sorry about this whole charade and hope you called me HeroManX in this blog. I don't want to be trolled for this, but like Protodude said, trolls are a part of society. So I hope we still be friends even though I get on your nerves sometimes. ^_^
