Capcom's "Charging Up" For Something

Capcom's teasing something Mega Man related over at Capcom Unity. The site is featuring a single, cryptic image depicting Classic Mega Man and (possibly) X's Busters with the phrase "We're Charging Up" attached.

One week from today, Keiji Inafune is set to reveal a new game at Comic-Con. Perhaps this a teaser of what's to come?

A penny for your thoughts.

  4. Maybe it's an X and Classic series crossover?

  5. I second that, Bobert. Ooh, I could hardly stand the wait!

  6. "Charging up"?

Shouldn't it say... POWERED UP? And 2 of the same busters? HA! No wonder my mind is screaming Powered Up 2 and Maverick Hunter X 2.

Meh, can be anything. I'm gonna go with PU2/MHX2 for 500 bucks, Roptodude :3

  7. I fourth Powered Up 2 and Maverick Hunter X 2.

    Please?

Or a crossover, but those have been meh...

  8. MMPU and MHX2. I'm calling now. Yes sir.

  9. Oh goodness. Well, that makes the odds of an MM-related announcement go up considerably.

(Though let me just say this right now: please don't be a fighting game.)

  10. Please let it be MM:PU2 or MHX2... please please please... Realistically though, I'm gonna guess the announcement has something to do with Megaman Universe.

  11. FUUUUUUUUU-

    I hate teases!

  12. Mega Man Powered Up 2+Mega Man X9?
    Or Mega Man Universe, maybe.

    Where's my penny?

  13. New MegaMan game that may be sequels to my favorite PSP MegaMan games?

    *Angels sing Halluleia!*

    Thank you, God!

    Thank you, Capcom!

  14. Anything but an MMO... anything but an MMO.

  16. Inafune said the next X game wouldn't be X9. Of course, there's Rockman Online to already prove that.

Whether Rockman Online and Mega Man Universe are the same game has yet to be proven. The fact that this tease shows both a Classic and X Buster could mean either of 2 things:
    1. Mega Man Universe is NOT Rockman Online and is a crossover of different universes
    2. PU2 and MHX2

This is assuming, of course, Inafune is revealing a Mega Man game in the first place, though I'm seriously hoping PU2 and MHX2.

  19. If it's Mega Man Online, I will be pissed. Do not want.

  20. Mega Man Powered Up 2 and Maverick Hunter X 2. Yes ? Pretty please ?!?!

  21. Its univerce. There are servebot toys to tease playing as Megaman Trigger, and this picture has x classic. Weren't x and legends the 1st to subseries to classic? Its all starting to make sence. Gameplay could be.... Interesting, but if it has anything remotly legends related, I'm playing it.

  22. On a side note, I'm surprised they're even referencing the fact that Mega Man could charge his Buster, since they've been trying to make it seem as if he's never had those abilities in both Mega Man 9 and 10. They STILL have NOT come up with a real story-related explanation as to why he could no longer use the Charge Shot.

  23. What if, this is the game that ties it all together? In 3D with legends style gameplay for all three universes. That would be epic. I would buy two, maybe three.

  24. If it is Rockman Rockman 2 and Irregular Hunter X2, then I hope they are just as good as the previous games were.

I know I've harked on X, Classic and Zero series a few times on here, but that was mainly because the games were straight-up ports (Zero Collection) or half-assed games (Rockman 10).

These are full out revamped, improved, redone, etc. So they can be called "new" games, considering how different they are compared to their originals.

  25. Actually, it looks more like the original Mega Buster from two angles, not the Mega Buster and the X Buster.

    ReplyDelete
  26. So it would appear that Ono and Inafune's teasers are for different games after all. Two reveals to look forward to, then.

I wonder... Remember the CoroCoro Create-A-Character contest from two years ago? One of the promo images featured Classic, X, EXE, and SSR. EXE and SSR got their crossover, but Classic and X didn't.

Maybe the time has come? Though hopefully this would be pulled off better than OSS.

Really hoping that this game isn't limited to Classic and X though. I'd rather see something involving all series.

  27. Maybe it's MM11... Now with the ability to charge your buster. Hell, I'd be pissed.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is extremely interesting. Those busters sure do look like Rock and X's. Could this be MegaMan Universe? Some reports say it's plot plans to cross over the classic to the X series. I dunno how that would work, but I really hope it's Powered Up 2 and MHX2...that would be so very swell indeed...

  29. I'm calling this one out as a remake of Megaman V for GB or some kind of sequel to it. I mean, think about it:

-The first image is almost like a non colored buster, sort of like the GB. Then, we have a fully colored buster after it, almost showing us the game would be fully colored.

-The Megaman Universe trademark would apply to this. They can't remake it and call it Megaman V. Why not Megaman Universe? Makes a lot more sense.

-Inafune, in Complete Works, mentioned how much he liked Megaman V and wanted to make another space styled Megaman game again.

  30. The people over at TMMN bring up the interesting possibility that this is a 3DS game.

3DS game by the way that the busters are drawn and colored... Classic buster being featured...

Oh god, I'm going to be really ticked off if this turns out to be that MM2 3DS game that was being considered a while back.

    ReplyDelete
  31. No problem for the people, It's a new serie, Exe>?>SF. After EXE, there must be a new serie, there are a lot of fans of EXE who want a new game exe type.

    Or MM11 or Powered up 2 =P

  34. If it is a crossover, I'll be glad if the real Megaman is a part of it.

  35. I REALLY hope that this is not Rockman Rockman 2 and MHX2 !!!!

Oh god I hate those series....

    I want to be impressed...like a game for 3DS made by inafune....I don't know

    come on capcom !!!!!!

  36. It's Mega Man Universe just posted on Capcom blog

  37. Mega Man Universe it is. Not sure how I feel about this. I'm not one to jump to conclusions as to how good a game will be from its trailer, much less when the trailer does not feature gameplay. I was personally hoping for a sequel: MMPU2, MHX2, or MML3. Considering Capcom's reputation for releasing multiple sequels to their games, an original concept Mega Man game is quite the surprise for me. The trailer has me more confused than anything else. I have faith that Capcom will deliver, but I have no idea what to expect from this one.
