First Ten Episodes of Mega Man: Fully Charged Now Available on Cartoon Network App

It's Friday, August 3rd in parts of the U.S and that means the first ten episodes of Mega Man: Fully Charged are now available to watch on the Cartoon Network video app and online. You can download the app here. Please note that in order to watch full episodes you need to authenticate your cable or satellite TV provider. At this time, the episodes are only available to stream in the U.S. I'll let you know if anything changes.

As a reminder, the show will begin airing weekly on Cartoon Network in the U.S starting this Sunday, August 5th, at 6:30 am ET/PT. You can find the airing schedule right here. From my understanding, you can even watch it on-demand through your cable provider too. I don't know which specific providers will have it, so you may need to do some investigating on your end.

So yeah; happy air day! I have enjoyed what I've seen of Fully Charged and I think many of you will too. While it may not be for everyone (the intended audience is definitely young kids), the show does a pretty admirable job of honoring Mega Man's 30-year-history and, at the same time, creating its own identity. My closing advice to you is this: approach Fully Charged as a new series. It really is its own thing.

  1. For some reason the thing that I'm focusing on the most is THAT GINGER KID'S NAME IS "BERT" WILY! (not a spoiler it's in the first episode) I KNEW HE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH WILY!

  2. "Hypnowoman." "Blastowoman."
    … … …
    Oooh-key!

All ten* episodes are available, right-out-of-the-gate**, huh? That's… a thing. Why is that a thing, exactly? Ah, well. Christina Miller knows best, after all. ツ

(* Eight episodes from Season One and two, apparently, web-exclusive episodes?)
(** For people who verify their cable provider)

    1. Saw the first episode, this morning. Aside from a heavy-handed message about controlling one's temper, it was pretty good! I expect this to be at least on-par with Sonic Boom, if this (third) episode is anything to go by.

    2. do you have a problem with female robot masters?

      Delete
    3. Not really. I just think those names are a little silly – especially "Blasto." Like, that's not even a word! Granted, they probably went that way because of Taito's "Sonic Blast Man" series, but still. "Hypnowoman" makes me think of a female Pokémon, too.

Were it me, I would have gone with "Mesmerizewoman" and "Detonationwoman." Boring, perhaps, but it's says what they do or what they are a little more clearly!

    4. There was a Playstation game called Blasto. :V

    5. I personally hate woman specified in name Robot Masters, it is such a bad naming convention that introduces gender dynamics started by an admittingly great Robot Master with good intentions. It makes it seem like Capcom were just obsessed with men (as in a grown human male) or something, which is NOT the case.

  3. Makes no sense story and it did not match to Japan's storyline/game. America is weird and stupid. Nah.

The only one that's stupid and weird here is you, sweetie. This isn't trying to match or copy the Japanese version, and that was never the intention. It's just doing its own thing partially using the Mega Man name. Grow up and stop kissing Japan's ass, they don't care what a crap foreigner like you thinks or says, and they never do.

    2. As PotatoMan said on another article: "I feel that this show isn't trying to be/say they are the original Mega Man story retold, instead is trying to have it's own identity by doing things differently than seen before. I think the show has potential, but i'll have to wait and see how the series fares out. Plus it's not like this is replacing the old stuff, it's just going to exist along-side the story we all know and love."

Maybe you should try growing up and accept that it's not trying to do anything harmful to your precious Japanese perception of the series. Kids like you are what's wrong with fandoms these days.

    3. I think we need to leave them alone, it's either a troll or a lonely person. They've been commenting "America bad, Japan best" in every other post with either weak or no argument, never replying, just repeating the same thing over and over.

Idk why they want to make it a America vs Japan thing, but they have nothing else to say.

      Delete
    4. The funniest bit of the "Japan = good, America = bad" is if you watch the show, you'll see a decent amount of Japanese names in the credits. That's because Capcom was actively involved in this show, from its visual aesthetic to the world building. Man of Action has said as much multiple times in interviews. They were specifically asked by Capcom and Dentsu to do a new take on Mega Man.

    5. It's gonna be hard seeing Mega Man quite differently than I'm used to and I'm not down with the Robot Master's redesigns but I'm willing to give it a shot.

But #3 Anonymous said they were willing to give it a shot. What'd they do wrong? :/

  4. This isn't dumb. I was super afraid it would be stupid. I'm glad I was wrong. It's most definitely for kids, but that's not a bad thing. As long as it carries the spirit of Mega Man, then it's fine. As is, he does go to school, but the show does not focus on that aspect. It feels like Spiderman meets MegaMan, meets Ben Ten. The original Ben Ten. It's not super edgy, but it does feel like an actual story exists here.

  5. I watched the first five episodes so far. The art style has grown on me. It's obviously written for younger kids and not for me. I still wish they had adapted the Archie Comics, but I understand that this is it's own series -- hence the subtitle "Fully Charged." I hope it succeeds because if it does that only means good things for the future of Mega Man.

  6. All my original fears about this cartoon came true.
It's ugly, it's poorly animated, the writing is putrid and juvenile and it spits on Megaman's 30-year legacy as if it was written by Ian Flynn himself.
It's completely unforgivable that we exist in a day and age when being faithful to the source material is more important than ever, but in Megaman's case we get an abomination that makes the Ruby Spears cartoon look like Batman: The Animated Series.

It's a show for literal six year olds. What did you expect?

      Delete
    2. Obviously, it is a show for literal six year olds but it doesnt match Japan's version at all. It doesnt makes sense at all.

Haven't seen this yet, so I won't fully comment yet, but I will say the tried and true "young demographic is not an excuse for a bad show."

      Delete
    4. That being said, "it doesn't match Japan's version at all" is also a ridiculous excuse to make. If we're going to comment on the quality of the show, it's not going to be because it's not "like the Japanese version."

      Delete
    5. Hold up, are you saying Ian Flynn spat on Mega Man's 30 year history? The Archie comics were insanely devoted to the lore of the Mega Man games, with just a few tweaks to make it work as a comic. I truly don't even think it's possible to make a more loving adaptation than Flynn did with the Mega Man series; I'm just bummed it got axed so early.

      Delete
    6. Iunno. I'm no fan of the way this looks but I still wouldn't say it's on par with Flynn's work - even if I don't like the Archie comics version I can still tell he cared about it.

    8. Well maybe other than the 2 Anons above Bezoticallyyours83 who seem to be optimistic about the show instead of spamming hate like the others like they didn't even watch the show at all before saying stuff. Those 2 I like too.

  7. For people that either love or hate this show, I want you to remember:
This isn't Classic Megaman and isn't meant to be Classic Megaman.
Don't ask stuff like "where is Roll" or "why call him another name other than Rock". There's no reason to ask this in the X series or others, so why make these questions here?
Aki is Megaman but not Rock, Suna is Megaman's sister but not Roll.
Let us accept this one common ground, at least.

    1. You, I like you. Out of every person who has commented on this show, you're the only who has mad a reasonable statement.

    2. No. Thats incorrect. When you adapt something that has a long history you need to follow some of the pre-established lore. Especially the basics. Romeo and Juliette wouldn't be Romeo and Juliette, if they were called Nicky and Claudia and grew up in well adjusted homes and wed right after college and had lotsa babies happily ever after while running their parents restaraunt. Yippy the end!

      Delete
    3. But it's not an adaptation. It's creating its own lore - its own universe - BASED off of some previously established characters and concepts. This is a new Mega Man series.

    4. @bezoticallyyours83 *Cough**Cough* West Side Story *Cough**Cough*

    5. @Jeffrey Bar

I get what you are trying to imply but just saying West Side Story was NOT an adaptation of Romeo and Juliette it wasn't even based on Romeo and Juliette it was inspired by it and was largely influenced by it, they are not the same properties at all. There is a distinction between Mega Man vs Mega Man: Charge Up and Mega Man vs Mechguy one is literally the same IP the other is not but could barrow some aspects to the extent that it is not infringing on the rights of the original work's holder legally anyway.

  9. Why are they throwing it in the 6:30 AM time slot though?

    1. It's the death slot. Cartoon Network has already decided to kill it. They do that to licensed shows. See Sonic Boom.

  11. Could only watch the first two episodes cause Canadian, but it was alright. It's definitely a kid show, but it seems like it might be an enjoyable one and it actually respects its roots far more than expected.

"America is weird and stupid" and Anon 8/4/18 3:26PM's posts exist. Why are these being allowed again? It contributes nothing to the discussion. I hope the comment section here doesn't turn into an imitation of the cesspool that is YouTube's comment section. It was one of the few civilized fan sites.

    1. Agreed, not sure what the point of having to wait for comments to be approved is when stuff like that gets posted all the time.

Honestly, I feel this site is great as a news source but bad for discussion. Most comment threads are petty arguments basically boiling down to who wins the award for biggest MM "purist". I rarely comment on here nowadays and focus most of my time on the MM Reddit sub. Most people on there are genuinely fans and are for the most part very positive.

  13. I've seen the show up to Hypno Woman. It's not really that bad at all, and it's actually quite charming with its pixel cutaways and occasional 8-bit tunes.

  14. So I have more to say. Wave Man and Fire Man are some of my favorites.

I like Chemistry Man and he even manages to come off mildly creepy.

Bert is better as a character then both Aki and Suna.

Aki is an annoying, cocky, unsympathetic little turd. He and Mega Mini deserve each other.

Drill Man is pitiable and I have no idea why he can't get the help he needs.

Guts Man is freaking atrocious! Man of Action should be ashamed to willingly ruin one of the most beloved and iconic robot masters ever dreamed up. WTF were these people thinking?😠

    Air Man is horrible.

Wood Man is actually cool. Kinda seems a cross between Wood Man and Search Man.

It tries too hard to be humorous and is way too light on the action. The fights take five seconds maybe.

This show oscillates between entertainingly quirky and painfully stupid to watch. The moralizing is heavy handed and simplistic, which, growing up in the 80s/90s I'm fairly used to.

Does the target audience actually like this? It would be interesting to know. I know my daughter has no interest in this. She thinks Rush and Ice Man are cute, but that's pretty much the extent of it.
