D-Arts Character Survey Results are Here

Voting is done, the results are in. 17,603 entries were received, and now as promised Ucchy-san delivers us the results. The most desired characters to be turned the next D-Arts are:

  • Zero (Mega Man Zero): 4,985 votes
  • Mega Man Volnutt: 3,083 votes
  • Roll (Mega Man 8 version): 2,997 votes
  • Iris: 2,907 votes
  • Ciel: 2,659 votes

At the end of the day, Zero came out on top. If you're disappointed with the results, I'd like to remind you the top three characters of Bandai's first poll all went on to become figures: Zero (MMX), Full Armor X, and Vile. Who's to say it won't happen again? Just keep those fingers crossed and hope for the best.

For the statistics behind the remaining top 24 characters, swing on over to The Mega Man Network.

  1. FYI the TMMN link goes to the first survey results, not this one.

  2. Too bad. Kotobukiya put out a good MegaMan Zero figure a year or 2 ago. I would have much rather have seen the Volnutt figure.

  3. Can't honestly say I really care for the results overall, but as long as people keep buying the line, then hopefully everyone will get at least a figure or two that they like down the pike.

  4. *spits*

We have enough Zero and Roll figures.

And I don't get why anyone would want posable figures of Iris or Ciel. Those belong in the statue-figurine section, preferably as skimpy catgirls or something.

Never gonna get dat Red Joker or Black Ace... :/

    1. "We have had enough Zero and Iris figures"

      clearly not =P

    2. Don't like it? Well, you got them coming soon. So don't complain.

  5. Perhaps it's a little excessive to call it a victory for Iris persay, but I'd still consider this ranking a good thing.

  6. Iris made it up there... Seriously... We picked Iris over Xover, EXE, SF Megaman, and ZX Megaman, or major side characters like X(Zero games), Protoman.EXE and Gutsman.EXE, Harp Note and Acid Ace!? Get out. And the same goes for Roll.

  7. I'd rather have an Iris figure over Roll. :\

  8. I'd rather have Dynamo, or Gate, or any other adversary. I still have my Harvest-WKS Zero & X figures, I wish those had been released stateside, and pre-assembled.

  9. I am disappoint. Though, I'm curious to see Bandai's take on Zero after having seen various garage kits and Kotobukiya's rendition, which, though not terrible, wasn't exciting.

  10. Joyous rapture. Let's vote for figures that already have perfectly good renditions by another company. I'm talking about Zero Series Zero and Roll, of course. Why not vote for some characters or other variations thereof that hasn't been done before? Iris is up there, and that's fine. Ciel...interesting choice, but there's other possibilities.

I'm actually excited to see a new Volnutt. While he did have two previous figures consisting of a previous model (sans the weapon variations) and a collectable gashapon, I think a solid D-Arts figure will give him the total treatment (aside from Score's custom figure). Would be cute to have a little Data accessory on the side. :3

Plus, that would mean a third Mega Man in the D-Arts line. I'll say again, it'd be great to have a D-Arts of each individual Mega Man incarnation. =)

  11. 2 out of 3 of choices made it to the top three. ^_^ So sad to see that .EXE didn't make the cut. :/

  12. They really could have come up with some slightly desirable choices.

None of these is especially appealing, but the Roll seems somewhat justified... just not before a Protoman, or a Cutman or a Gutsman or an Elecman or a Super Armor Megaman, or a Metalman...

  13. that's pretty dissappointing, I was hoping for a d-arts protoman figure or one of the robot masters or perhaps vile mk II from megaman x3. I like zero but there's enough zero figures out there and I'm really not a fan of his mmz design even though I enjoyed the mmz games.

  14. How about a Dr. Light figure? Or Wily, complete with Hovership accessory?

Or hey, how about King? So many characters to choose from, yet they keep the circle small.

  15. I, for one (among the 4,985), am happy to see Zero at the top! He's still my favorite after all, and the Mega Man Zero version is considerably different from the regular X series Zero. I'm also happy to see Roll, Iris, and Ciel... girls have been under-represented in D-Arts so far. Yay for Volnutt, too... hopefully they'll make him this time.

  16. Top 3 are all characters in TvC, lol. Can't really say I'm happy about top 5, the top 3 are overdone, Iris and Ciel I don't really care about.

In fact, the lack of blue disturbs me. And also the fact that the majority of them are female side characters. Can't help but think "sex sells".

  17. It's no secret that there are countless female figures from various games and animes. Not being sexist, but something surely seems unbalanced.

  18. As if Protoman came in 12th in the poll!! That just seems nuts especially since you would have thought they'd release the 3 playable characters from the classic series 1st..

I still don't understand the deal with Iris though.. I can kinda understand Roll since she's been a support character for years + been playable in fighting games etc & I can kinda understand Ciel since again she's a major character over the course of the Zero series but Iris despite being Zero's love interest only appeared in one game.. it's like me asking for a figure of Splash Woman..

Having MMZ top the poll is a little disappointing as he didn't do the Kotobukiya line any good hopefully a figure will sell better than a kit.. I would have preferred to have seen some different characters from that series like the guardians .. maybe if this figure does well we might see them..

Volnutt is no surprise either because of Legends 3, I just hope that if he is made people will actually buy it since it will a)show Capcom people like the character & b) keep the D-Arts line going..

  19. Zero won?????? THIS SUCKS!!!!!!! IT JUST COMPLETELY SUCKS!!!!!! WHY THE F*** DO ONLY HEROES GET A FIGURE! SERIOUSLY!!!!! WHAT THE F***!!!!!! Make some villains for crying out loud stupid Bandai!!!!!! Like we have 5 versions of X, 2 of Zero, and Megaman. A total of 8 heroes, for villains, just 2! Vile and Bass. Sigma doesn't quite count to me because hes a f***en statue. LAME!!!!! But come on, we G.I. Joes vs Cobra, Autobots vs Decepticons, cops vs robbers. Make mavericks or robot masters! Even for heroes Protoman or Roll would of been better than Zero!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!! How does Zero come before Protoman?????

  20. Must say I'm rather disappointed with the results. None of the characters I voted for made it into the top 5.

Bleh. I just hope the line lasts long enough so we get some characters that haven't had figures in the past. There are tons of secondary characters with great designs that would make awesome figure. I'd really like to see some of the Robot Masters and Command Mission characters.

    1. Trust me, I'd like a Duo figure myself, but I won't complain. I'm just happy, and thank God, that Capcom greenlit these figures at all. I've been yearning for this high-quality merchandise for years, so I'm in on the D-Arts bandwagon, and FiguArts Zero by extension. But, before anyone labels me a tool, shouldn't we as fans be thankful for what Capcom's done for Mega Man? Sure, they might only be making Comics and Figures now, but I'm happy they're at least acknowledging the Blue Bomber these days. I would've loved to play Mega Man X9, or Mega Man Legends 3, but hating and bashing Capcom, or each other, won't do any good.
