Rockman Xover Updates: World 6 and OVER-7

Hot on the heels of Rockman Xover's Android debut, Capcom has rolled out a new update. The patch brings forth World 6, themed after Rockman Zero. Aztec Falcon, Maha Ganeshariff, Blizzack Staggroff and Herculious Anchus are ready to put up a fight. Japanese website Gamer also hints Leviathan may be lurking around somewhere, too. Final boss, maybe?

The update also introduces the aquatic/ice based OVER-7. As per usual, this form is yours when all its parts have been gathered. You better believe those ice/water Battle Memory cards will come in handy with this guy.

Gamer's report leaves us with a teaser image of classic Rockman blasting his way through a stage. It's implied the ability to play as various Rockmen is coming in a future update. If you're not entirely fond of OVER-1 and his incarnations... well, this may be something to your liking. I'll keep you posted when we learn more.

Check out Gamer's original report for more images.

  2. "If you're not entirely fond of OVER-1 and his incarnations..."

I think it's not about OVER-1 being suckish, rather it's about how bad this game really is. And even with Rock coming in, it still doesn't do the game any favors since its gameplay is the most terrible gameplay ever in terms of Mega Man. EVER.

  3. Bleh. The game tried to retain the artstyle of the Zero series while being true to Xover's style... It looks terrible.

Look, Capcom. If you're going to do a crossover, take a page from Nintendo. Pick the single series that the art and style will be based on(Twilight Princess for Brawl) and change everything else to suit that artstyle, just like Smash did with the exception of Game & Watch.

Also... how different can playing as the other Megamans be? Sadly, unless you can unlock the Style changes/Double Souls/Soul Cross for EXE, StarBreak/Tribe On/Noise Form for SF, Armour for X, customization parts for Zero, and the Models for the ZX Megamans.... They are going to end up being reskins pretty much....

  7. I thought everyone would be over bitching about Xover now SERIOUSLY GUYS. take a page from the Pokémon fandom who thought 5th gen had terrible designs and was going to kill the franchise and consider the fact that Xover is far from the worst thing that has happened to the MM Fandom (coughcoughbattlechipchallengecoughcough).

In on-topic news, lets hope a ZX-themed world is next (Legends can come last for obvious reasons).

  8. As much as people say this game is bad, I still want to play this game in full - Now more than ever with MM Zero bosses being revealed. Heck, I was missing Leviathan; I'm just glad she's returning. ^^

  9. I'm willing to take the guess that these new stage Bosses are even more ridiculously powered than the Shooting Star World bosses.

A small part of me almost wants to redownload the app just to see them, but chances are, they're locked out unless you've beaten the Shooting Star stage bosses, as well as Andromeda.

OVER-7 looks nice, though I still really like OVER-6 and OVER-2.

  10. @Zerker: I don't wanna see that choughchough junk, not coming from someone talking take hints from Pokemon or its fans. You lost the rights to criticize BN games on the basis of gameplay while being taken seriously.

  11. Ughh.. this game... people say I should try it and then make a judgment, but god! Look at it! It just looks so bad I don't even want to acknowledge its existance! I wouldn't subject myself or even my phone to playing this drivel, and I like cell phone games!

    @Zerker
Please stop lecturing people who don't like this. As a person who is also part of the Pokemon fandom, the difference between the 5th generation games and this is that Pokemon actually had something fun and innovative. It was also on a hand-held console and the graphics were wonderful! I also don't remember hearing anybody saying it was going to kill the franchise. Yeah, people had their dislikes, but it still looked fun and worth trying. This is just a lackluster cellphone game. Capcom COULD have done more with this, but they didn't. It is half-assed, the controls look very hard to manage, the storyline just confuses me beyond belief as if a fanboy/girl took his favorite random elements from previous games to make this (and I've seen fangames better than this!). Just my two cents. You are free to disagree but I am not the argumentative type so I would just like to make my point known.

I agree with you 100 percent. At first, I mocked the people who disliked this piece of crap called Xover, but now I understand their feelings. Xover is terrible, and doesn't deserve to be here in the Good old USA cause of the evil company known as Crapcom. Sure, some people like this game, but their opinions will not be matched by hundreds of MegaMan fans who hate this... this poor excuse of a MegaMan game...

  13. As far as this game goes, I've played it a fair bit (downloaded to my iPhone 5 with a Japanese iTunes account) & for what it is, I really like it, shame it'll never be translated to English. A LOT of people rage against this game, but I say, you missed out.

  14. For a free game, Xover is good. If it weren't for the fact that I get horrible framerate and can't read Japanese, I would rate it as the best free Rockman game and higher than X7 and Megaman 5/6.

Now I hate Xover as much as the next guy, but this argument above is just flimsy as heck. Full of unprovable data, opinions, assumptions and bias-which on its own not bad but lump with the rest- well you get the point.

  17. @ 3:10PM Anon - har har har.
You're actually defending Battle Chip Challenge? A game which is universally claimed to be the worst MM game? ohhmygod...

Also I never stated anything about BN being shit in my original comment. I was saying that BCC was much worse then Xover... aand then I said that the Pokémon fandom got over the accusations that 5th gen was bad faster then the entire Mega Man fandom has with Xover. And also there are still fans upset over Legends 3. Hmm...

  18. That sprite of classic Rockman looks terrible. I could sprite better than that, and I'm not even that great at spriting.

I'm more bothered by the fact though that they've waited this long to include the other incarnations playable. They should have done that from the start. Not that it would have made the game any better anyway.

Oh, and please, Xover ain't got nothing on Pokemon's 5th Gen, or any of its other Gens. I personally enjoyed just about every Pokemon Gen, and I do get annoyed when people whine about the new Pokemon Generations... but frankly, Xover just cannot compare. And basically, everything Leona said.

  20. @Zerker: I know this is hard for you, but did you read and understand my comment? When the hell did I A. Defend BCC and B. Say you said BN was shit?

I understand what you wrote about BCC vs Xover which I agree with (BCC is true garbage.) I was jokingly stating you can't make comparisons like that since with a Pokemon comparison beforehand you lost credibility from me to do so. Now I'm beginning to think you literally just can't make that comparison, just based on your intelligence.

Oh, and please, Pokemon ain't got nothing on Xover, or any other Mega Man. I personally enjoyed just about every Mega Man, and I do get annoyed when people whine about the new Mega Man games... but frankly, Pokemon just cannot compare. And basically, nothing Leona said.

Opinions are fun. These^ are not mine but just illustrating two points. One, that people can't handle opinions. Two Pokemon is in the crevice of anything Japanese related on the web with wholehearted fanboy defenders at its side, and that the Mega Man fanbase as of late is basically the Pokemon fanbase that kinda sorta likes Mega Man on the side.

  21. @Zerker
Every fanbase pisses and moans about the latest game in their franchise, about how it's not as good as the last game. Everytime by almost everybody. The question is "Is this justifiable?"

For those in the Pokemon fandom through Gen 5 was going to kill the series? It is not justified, because the games are just as high quality as the past 4 generations; in graphics, sound, concept, and fun-factor.

For Megaman fans that look down in XOVer, it is justified. Of the 8+ gameplay styles and concepts in the whole franchise; XOver is, bar-none, the simplest and most hollow compared to the others. Not saying simple can't be fun. But Megaman fans are used to having more functions beyond "Jump and Shoot ONLY". This is a huge step backward from game that came before, MM10. A even bigger step backward if you count Legends 3 Prototype, the game that was cancel days before the release, for no official reason.

    Y'all need to calm down.

  23. @9:03 PM: Um...did you just say MM10 was a lesser game than the MML3 Prototype you never played before? Ahhhgh legends fans never let up. Well last I played, both Legends games action consisted of me farming zenny, buying upgrades and mindlessly circling around every single enemy in those games to beat them. So yeah in terms of gameplay depth I'd definitely say the classic series and its line of games is superior to Legends any day.

If that's not what you meant by an "even bigger step backward if you count Legends 3 Prototype" than nevermind. I still stand by my statement that MM-classic is superior from a gameplay perspective than anything legends so far though.

  24. @11:10 PM

    Totally missing the point.
The part about "even bigger step backward if you count Legends 3 Prototype", is that we could of gotten a game with a interactive 3D-world to explore with a deep narrative; and what we get was something that more in line with a Mario Party mini-game with poor animation.

Even if you don't like the Legends games, you can't say that the trade off was fair. That would be like saying "Duck Hunt is better than Zelda OoT in every way." It's the principle matter that they dropped something of high-quality for some quick cash-in.

And before anyone says stuff like "Legends was high-quality? Lewlz!!"; Legends is to Classic as Apples are to Oranges.

No. Megaman and Pokemon cannot compare. Because they play nothing alike, duh. They're both really great though, to me at least. Though I don't appreciate my comment being tweaked.

  27. New XOver content! Oh god I'm.... trying too hard to care, but something always comes off. Though I'm glad we haven't got that game to see the light of day in NA, for now at least.
