Two More Soundtracks for the 25th Anniversary

The merchandise just keeps coming. We have the big 'ol E-Can soundtrack collection coming in September, and it looks like Capcom is gearing up to release a pair of arrange albums in August.

Online store Animate just recently posted listings for "25th Anniversary Rockman Rock Arrange" and "25th Anniversary Rockman Techno Arrange" albums.  Due out on August 29, the albums contain arranged versions of music from Rockman 1 to Rockman 10.  Each will retail for 3,150 Yen (approximately $39).

It remains to be seen if these are newly arranged pieces or compilations of previously arranged music.  I suppose Capcom will officially announce the soundtracks in the near future, so we shouldn't have to wait too long for additional details.

Stay tuned!

  1. WHERE ARE THE VIDEO GAMES?

  2. See? Now this is so much better than that over-priced can.

  3. @First Anon: Either in progress or they got nothing there.

Anyways, I find it interesting that the arranges are much cheaper. although I do wish to know how many tracks are on each. That could be a dealbreaker for the price being asked for.

Okay, but it's still classic. Where's the rest of the series? X? Legends? EXE? Zero? ZX? Star Force? I'd love some nice actual anniversary-worthy collections here, capcom.

    *sigh*

Color me underwhelmed. If you're gonna do an anniversary for a series, at least acknowledge the existence of more than just the first game in the series...

  5. Oh nice, i prefer arrange with a little price ;)

  6. Wasn't there an offical techno/rock duo release for the 20th Anniversary as well?

But yeah, still not quite whetting my appetite for quality Rockman GAMES.

C'mon CAPCOM. You need to step it up.

  7. Well, I guess we can let tears stream down our cheeks as we listen to some Megaman music. No games... but I guess Capcom could correct me.

  8. There better be more remixes from Megaman 4, 5 and 6 than have a ton of remixes from Megaman 2.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I hate to say that this is a bit disheartening.

I'd been hoping for SOME kind of a game announcement. Is capcom really THIS scared of Mega Man's ability to sell?

    ReplyDelete
  10. They said they were gonna announce some real anniversary news near his actual anniversary date, right? So we shouldn't let this scare us, right? Right, guys?! D:

  11. Dudes, we're not getting a game. get over yourselves. I'm actually happy about this! you guys should stop whining.

  12. Congrats Japan.
It's good to know Capcom hasn't forgotten Megaman(is a good source of merchandising profit).

  13. A lot of people seem to want stuff from the rest of the series... But those series aren't the ones turning 25!

Megaman Classic is the one with the birthday!

  14. @Megamem:
    It's the FRANCHISE'S 25th anniversary, smartypants

  15. @stealthwoman: ...and we shouldn't want Capcom to make a game for a game-based franchise because..?

I'm feeling much more receptive to these than that overpriced no-side-games soundtrack can, at the very least.

  17. While I can understand that people want a new Mega Man game, can everyone PLEASE stop crapping all over whatever we DO get? =/

I'm just getting a little sick and tired of everyone being so bitter that when we do get something cool, it's considered "not good enough". -_-

  18. Waaaaait a minute... I'm sensing a trend, here.

This how Capcom celebrated their 20th anniversary, as Anon3 said. Almost exactly, I might add. They released a "complete soundtrack" set as well as a Rock and Techno set. Which were pretty awesome, I have to admit.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Haha, serious, Clown Prince!

Fans: "We better F'ing get something for MM 25th, stupid Crapcom (get it? CRAPcom. I made that up myself! I'm such a witty fan, aren't I)!!"
Capcom: [releases multiple items months before the actual anniversary]
Fans: WHAT IS THIS CRAP! I WANTED A PONY! YOU HEAR ME?!! A PONY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. OK, very nice, very nice... but, uh... game? Anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Much better than the E-Tank CD can. I also really enjoyed the previous arrange rock and techno (especially rock) albums, so I'll be looking forward to this.

    ReplyDelete
  22. lame, there's already a ton of megaman soundtracks that have been released within the last 7 years. how about some exclusive megaman figures instead? something like a box set with a figure of each variation of megaman from each series, now that would be something.

Could we stop mocking each other and at least act in a civil manner towards one another? I swear, sometimes I find it embarrassing to call myself a megaman fan.

There is nothing wrong with asking for a game from a game franchise. At the same time, you shouldn't bark orders, and you should at least have a bit of dignity about it, and show some respect to the people who made it, regardless of your personal feelings on the matter.

And those of you who you are on the opposite extreme, mocking them makes you no better. It is just as wrong to criticize people who expect something more than "good enough" as it is to bark orders and demand absolute compliance from Capcom.

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Try to act with at least a little more professionalism. We've become a laughing stock of a fandom. I mean, seriously guys... we're being compared to the Sonic Fandom now. That's just plain embarrassing.

    ReplyDelete
  24. "OH HURR DURR SHTOP WHINING YOU GUIZ GET OVER YOURSELVES GEEZ THIS IS COOL STOP COMPLAINING"

yknow what the problem with that is?

this ISNT cool. The E can soundtrack tin is interesting, but ridiculously overpriced for what the content amounts to: something EASILY AVAILABLE FOR FREE.

Remixes? interesting I suppose... When they are something OTHER than Classic series remixes, which we have gotten for previous anniversaries.

Im not expecting much, but at least something of actual effort, and not something Capcom can easily just halfass and call it a day. It's INCREDIBLye asy for them to chuck some OST's on a few discs, and then make a novelty package for it to make it seem cool. Just as easy to get their music workers to remix some tracks from Megaman 2.

and IN CASE YOU GUYS FORGOT, THIS IS A 25TH ANNIVERSARY HERE. 25 IS A MILESTONE IN GAMING ANNIVERSARIES, AND DESERVE THE BEST.

Im not saying I want a game, but... I want a game.

or something at least WORTH my money.

you guys who just kiss up to Capcom's ass and eat up whatever they crap out regardless of quality, YOU are the problem here, and YOU need to get over yourselves. because you know what? as the fanbase that GOT the franchise where it is today, the loyal customers who bought their products and demanded more, who made demand for it and gave Capcom our money for 25 years, we Do deserve better. ESPECIALLY after the Personal Relations APOCALYPSE that was the Legends 3 fiasco and it's aftermath.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Maybe if they included these sets along with the E-Can it might warrant that high price. Although I have to say, these sets are more interesting. I wonder who's doing the arranging?

    @undamned

You have to admit, these items are pretty lackluster. I mean, we already have soundtracks for all the classic games. The arrange tracks are cool, but is it enough? I think it's nice, but I await more news and announcements of things to come, if they come.

Also, this year is considered the anniversary. So any day within it is fair game, I'd say.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Haha. I'm laughing at how stupid and barbaric the MegaMan fanbase has become.

You guys just bitch, bitch, bitch and more bitch and saying crap like MegaMan is dying and stuff.

Seriously, MegaMan has become like a cult and the fanbase are the franchise's followers and they're mad at Capcom for killing off their beloved god.

Just saying, but there are other games to enjoy other than MegaMan like Mario, Sonic, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Tales series, and more.

JUST GET OVER LEGENDS 3'S CANCELLATION FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!!

    Again, just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Musashi: Oh, so we're "barbaric" for not blindly accepting everything Capcom puts out?

Yes, we know there's other series. Just because we're worried about Megaman's fate doesn't mean that everything else stopped existing.

MML3's cancellation was a PR disaster and a horrible betrayal of trust for many fans. There's more to it than just "we didn't get the game", and you must be actively trying to avoid understanding that if you haven't gotten it by now.

    ReplyDelete
  28. *Sigh* Am I the only one sitting on the neutral fence here?

I'm not saying that I don't want a new game, I actually quite do, but realistically I cannot really get my hopes high. I already gotten my hopes high for Legends 3, only to have that crushed, so I'm not going to repeat that same mistake again.

Yes, a game would be ten times better than new OST releases, but in the same light, it's still better than nothing and the new rock and techno remixes will still better than the E-Tank music set. You can say that I'm among those who are "causing problems for the franchise" or whatever, but I just cannot be really hopeful anymore.

I'd rather just sit back and watch as things come along at their own pace, without being hopeful and without complaining about ANY side. That's me being neutral about this entire matter.

  29. @RADIX

I understand how all of you feel, except for Amir cause I really, really hate him.

I'm trying like some others help calm the fanbase down. But did everyone listen to us? Nooooo...

I have gotten over MegaMan's future and played other franchises that haven't been reduced to crap. I know Capcom canning Legends 3 was a big downer, but like everyone else, I was mad at the company who did this, but over time, I got over it and said to myself "I'm done with MegaMan. At least until they make a new game or Crapcom cleans up its act. Right now, I'm gonna play popular franchises that are not treated like dirt like Mario, Pokemon and my favorite RPG series of all time, Final Fantasy. And the Tales series and Zelda."

*Sigh* Thing is, like everyone who tried to reason with the angry MegaMan fanbase, I'm probably gonna get ignored.

Dr. Jerk, I know how you feel. Like you. I don't have high hopes for a new game in MegaMan's 25th anniversary. But all we can do is wait for either for MegaMan to be bought by Nintendo or some other well known gaming company that hasn't abused its series or Kenji Inafune to sue Crapcom for everything they got.

    ReplyDelete
  30. As much as I dislike Capcom's handling of the franchise, I wouldn't want MM to be sold to Nintendo. The way they handled the Donkey Kong Country franchise cemented on my views on that. Though DKCR was good, but it took like what, eleven years since DK64? And realistically, there is no way Inafune could sue Capcom and win. Capcom is just too big of a company and Inafune is just one man and his company a tiny company.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Musashi: Don't try to "calm down" the fanbase by insulting them.

You know how people in call centers have to deal with irate customers shrieking into their phones right off the bat? It's kinda like that, AND you're telling people to stop caring about something very close to them (even temporarily)--what worked for you won't work for everyone.

Plus, you seem to be implying that by moving on, you're better than everyone else. That's never a good idea.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Dr. Jerk.

You may be right about that... All we had to do is wait for some miracle while we enjoy other game franchises. Other than MegaMan, what is your favorite game franchises? Maybe those can help you calm down.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @RADIX

See? That kind of attitude is making the MM fanbase look bad. Have you seen some of the comments in here? Some saying the MegaMan fanbase is compared to the Sonic fandom who i deeply respected, the Sonic fandom which I am a huge fan of Sonic. I'm not trying to insult the fanbase, I'm giving some words of encouragement to help calm this rage driven fanbase down. But I got ignored like some people who are trying to move on without MegaMan while the rest of the angry MegaMan fanbase continue to destroy themselves with their rage. If you don't like what Crapcom is doing, why don't some of you go over to their Japan HQ and kidnap the Board of Directors who are calling the shots in making your precious MegaMan games and keep them until you forced them to make more MegaMan games to keep the fricking fanbase happy?

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Musashi: Bullshit. Your first comment opened with you calling the MM fanbase "stupid and barbaric".

    That is not encouragement.

If you really wanted to calm everyone down, you'd try to point out some positive things about these 25th anniversary soundtracks, like "They're expensive, but still not as overpriced as the E-Can".

What I'm trying to say is, your actions and intentions aren't matching up in the slightest. Hell, your first comment was easily far more belligerent than most of the ones before it by the people you were screaming at.

You're being "ignored" not because everyone else is blinded by rage, but because you're being incredibly dickish about "calming them down".

    ReplyDelete
  35. WHY DOESN'T EVERYONE JUST SHUT THE HELL UP AND REPLAY YOUR FAVORITE MEGAMAN GAMES?!?

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Musashi the Master: I don't see why you would want to know my other favorite franchises, I've been pretty calm all this time, but I have plenty of franchises that I can play, both popular and obscure. And that's essentially what I've been doing all this time.

    ReplyDelete
  37. BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE TOO CALM AND RATIONAL.
BECAUSE THAT WOULD MAKE TOO MUCH SENSE.
BECAUSE IT'S EASIER TO RAGE THAN TO THINK.

    ReplyDelete
  38. @June 24, 2012 10:16 PM Anon: And you're not mindlessly raging at everyone you don't agree with, how?

    ReplyDelete
  39. @RADIX

*Snort* Oh sure... you saying I'm making things worse will make things better. Tell me something, RADIX.

Has there any reports of MegaMan fans boycotting Crapcom's products? Well yes, but how many MegaMan fans are there? 100,000 for Legends 3 while Crapcom has millions and millions of Street Fighter fans who buy their products?

Has Crapcom reposnded to the Bring back Legends 3 people? Yes, but not in a good way.

Has Crapcom's sales dropped? No. You can't beat millions and millions of people who are loyal to Crapcom. Face it, you're never gonna get your Legends 3 until Crapcom cleans its act up or goes out of business. So bitching and bitching more about it will only make it worse for yourself and others.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @RADIX: No, I'm saying you're just making things worse.

Maybe, but until MML3, Capcom's shadier business tactics weren't under such close scrutiny.

I'm going to end this conversation here, because I'm tired of arguing with someone who can't try to "calm down the fanbase" without insulting and shaming them, and blatantly ignoring those who talk to them whilst whining about how no one listens to them.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @RADIX
    I NEVER SAID I WASN'T RAGING MINDLESSLY.
(CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.)
I CERTAINLY HOPE YOU DIDN'T THINK I WAS AGREEING OR DISAGREEING WITH ANYBODY.
BESIDES, IT SEEMS LIKE THE CANNIBALIZATION IN THESE COMMENTS IS RAMPING UP JUST FINE WITHOUT MY INPUT, AS MEANINGLESS AS IT WOULD BE.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Not to complain, but didn't they already do a techno arrange around the time of Anniversary Collection?

Where are the next installments of ZX, X, and, of course, the obvious?

But anyway, that's pretty cool. I'm looking forward to it, but I do hope we actually get some games.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm surprised Amir hasn't replied to my comment about me talking about me hating him for being a complete jackass.
