First In-Engine Footage of Mighty No. 9

Before you hit that play button, know this: what you are about to see is a brief, proof of concept for Mighty No. 9. This is not what the game will look like; rather, a glimpse of what it could look like running on Unreal Engine 3. Comcept writes:

"Let’s be 100% clear (caps lock on!): THE GAME WILL NOT NECESSARILY LOOK LIKE THIS VIDEO, MOVE LIKE THIS VIDEO, OR ACT LIKE THIS VIDEO -- THIS IS A COMPLETELY ROUGH TEST ONLY, MADE IN LITERALLY ONE WEEK, USING ALL PLACEHOLDER ASSETS AND ANIMATION just to test how parts of the engine work. With no shaders, filters, or even models and key art in place yet, normally we would never show anything like this since it’s not representative of the final game at all, but in the spirit of this Kickstarter in showing how the game is made, even from the very earliest steps, we thought it would still be pretty cool to see a glimpse of Beck moving around in the engine (even if it is a placeholder Beck, moving through a placeholder level with placeholder enemies and animations!)."

For a seven day project, it doesn't look too bad.  But again, there's still 18 months of development ahead of us. Plenty of things will change.

  3. Well, you can definitely tell it was made in the Unreal Engine 3.0... XD

  4. Not too bad. I was hoping the graphics would look a little more cartoony.

  5. Agreed. For a test run made in just a week, it actually looks pretty decent. Definitely hoping there will be cell shading in the final product.
