Mega Man Battle Network Overclocked is an ambitious project by Nick West. It's a proof-of-concept fan-game that aspires to be a 3D remake of Battle Network 1. Although early in development, it's already showing great promise. I mean, really; just check out that trailer!
Nick also announced that a demo is coming on Monday, November 30th. It will contain most of the content from Fire Man.EXE scenario. You know, the oven incident that first introduced the world to Lan and Mega Man.EXE. Ah, memories.
You can stay up to date on the game's development via Nick's Twitter profile here! Good luck, sir!
The smiles looks weird but the style is awesome anyway, i will test it for sure!ReplyDelete
I like the idea :D
I never liked the Rockman Exe series, but this look gorgeous.ReplyDelete
I didn't like the EXE series only because I was wanting more of the classic and X series. But looking back on the games now, I really appreciate them. And this looks AMAZING!ReplyDelete
I always thought both EXE and Shooting Star should have been their own franchises rather than leaching of Mega Man. But what's done is done. I wonder what would have happened if that were the case... Sadly Mega Man would have stagnated much worse than it had. But these games are Mega Man in name only and only made the brand more complicated.Delete
They are amusing for what they are. I have been waiting for a collection to play them again on the big screen.
This project does look cool, though. Hopefully the project is ultimately finished.
@shrap: Mega Man Legends is more Mega Man in name only than Mega Man Battle Network (it's farther in music, references, design material, structuring and if you include Rockman.EXE WS and Network Transmission, gameplay). Change my mind.Delete
I never said Legends belonged either, did I?Delete
At least Legends actually had running, jumping, platforming (sort of) and shooting.
Case could be made it shouldn't belong either.

You can literally do all of those in Battle Network including jumping (contact sensitive), that is a broad way of determining what makes a Mega Man game. You can run, jump and shoot in many games ranging from Ratchet&Clank to Halo, yet those for me at least don't even come close to scratching my Mega Man itch because without the bulk of the ecosystem surrounding Mega Man's 2d plattforming gameplay it ceases to be Mega Man. So something like characters and design philosophy, theme etc etc are things I consider way more important than traditional gameplay in determining what is a Mega Man game. I consider MMBN a MM game in a similar way I consider MMB&Chase, RockBoard, Soccor, X Command and such MM games, they are story and gameplay spinoffs heavily based on MM lore and design structure.
well, thats just my opinion. you can have yours. whatever. i dont care what it is nor need to justify mine.Delete
I've always liked the Rockman.EXE series, but this game looks meh and kinda uh "not pretty", I'll put it like that.ReplyDelete
As cool as it sounds, given the history of... basically any company with fan remakes, I wouldn't jump on the hype train for this one.ReplyDelete
Let's be honest, is there really any major fan remake of any game that was still being sold that wasn't DMCA'd in development or at most days after release?
Capcom has no problem with fan games. As long as it's not for profit, you're good to go. It's a fact.Delete
Wasn't there Shanghai.EXE, a MMBN/Touhou kinda-crossover fangame that was DMCA'd before release and then DMCA'd again for a good portion of in-battle graphics after its fans picked up development from a leaked copy?Delete
Admittedly I'm not well versed with the story and might be missing important context, but as it is now I'm not convinced Capcom won't go after this one.
If I recall correctly, the issue was that the creator was using patreon-like platform where people could subscribe (paid) for project updates (so, basically he was getting profit).Delete
I really like the animation from overworld to battle. That's a super nice touch.ReplyDelete
Just Distribute. Was’t whatever has been simply searching for nonetheless, if As i sought after Search this page emerged and so i tested versus eachother and in addition wanted to do in any case appreciate it. Streaming AnimeReplyDelete
