"Rockman Zero & ZX SOUND BOX" Announced

During the Rockman Live 2020 concerts this past weekend, Capcom announced the release of the Rockman Zero & ZX SOUND BOX. All the details after the break!

The sound box is reportedly due on March 25th for 8800 yen (+ tax ) and will feature 208 tracks pulled directly from the original, uncompressed Rockman Zero 1 to 4, Rockman ZX and Rockman ZX Advent sound sources. These tracks have been remastered for the release of the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, too. The package will include new artwork by Toru Nakayama and Makoto Yabe. No images exist of the package design at this time.

At the time of this writing, it is unclear if the new 10 remixed tracks from the "Reploid Remixes" Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection DLC will be included. However, I think it's safe to say that they will.

It is also unclear how many CDs the sound box will have. However, if the price is anything to go by, it will likely contain 6 CDs like the Rockman EXE SOUND BOX which was sold for around the same price. It's worth noting that this is the first time the game sound source of Rockman Zero 4, Rockman ZX and Rockman ZX Advent will be released officially. Previously, only the Rockman Zero 1 to 3 sound source were released back in 2004 with the commercialization of the Rockman Zero The Complete Works of GAME MUSIC -Rockman Zero 1~3-.

Stay tuned for more news as we approach the release date of the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection!

  1. So does this mean that all those Rockman Zero Remix albums / ZX Gigamix tracks won't be on this sound box? I was holding off buying them since I figured it was only a matter of time until a Zero / ZX Sound Box came out, plus Rockman Sound Box 1 had the arrange tunes from both the Arrange CDs from the 90s. Ah well...

At least Zero 4 will finally get an official release! If pattern recognition is anything to go by, we could be seeing a Legends Sound Box in 2022!

    1. Capcom has yet to announce more concrete details of this sound box but, the remastered albums done by Inti Creates are not part of this sound box. This is just the music straight from the games in their original source and with some kind of remastering to make them sound better.

    2. Dang it... are you 100% sure of that?

Also, I thought both ZX games were already released on CD, or is this something entirely unrelated?

    3. Yeah but those CDs in your links don't have the original source. They are arranged, remastered or whatever you want to call it versions. If you compare the same track from one of the CDs and from the game, they are different, is just the same case as the Remastered Rockman Zero albums.

  3. Neat. I've got plenty of remix CDs but none of the untouched game soundtracks so I'll keep an eye out for this one.

    1. Legends has like 10 pieces of music that is not ambient-, licensed or short jingles. Not sure about Tron Bonne's game though if that's included.
