During today's State of Play, Sony has announced that Mega Man X: Command Mission is finally getting a re-release as part of the growing PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog. The game will arrive sometime later this year for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers.
Notably, this will mark the very first re-release of Command Mission since its original launch on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube in 2004. More than 20 years later!
Sony hasn't announced a specific release date just yet. We'll have more details as they become available!

well, I guess it's nice that it's getting re-released at all, but sucks that it's not only a playstation exclusive, but a playstation plus exclusive
ReplyDeleteSomething I noticed from the sony post, they actually changed cinnamon's head icon!
ReplyDeleteI Saw it when it was announced, Holy crap IM SO HYPED! I've never played Command Mission and I was gonna emulate it so seeing it get an official re-release is so exciting! I'm glad Capcom cares enough to do something like this. Hopefully this does well and we can get Legends on PS1 Classics too!
ReplyDeleteI'm good. I'd rather practically own my games, which btw is distinct from legally owning them. Sony made abundantly clear the legal side of ownership is not the case when you buy games from them anyway and that has always been the case. On top of the fact that they don't want you to practically own your games, I think I'll pass. Even if I were to support Sony by getting their games, I sure as heck would not do it nowadays where they attach heavy online check-ins and DRM to make sure you didn't steal it after you have purchased it somehow, and I doubly would sure as heck not subscribe to their catalog renting service just to play Mega Man X: Command Mission. I've never seen an easier pass in my life.
