Mega Man Board Game, UFS Deck to be Revealed Later This Month

It's been a little while since we last heard from Jasco's Mega Man board game and Universal Fighting System trading card deck. Soon, however, we'll be learning (and seeing) a whole lot more.

A source close to Jasco informs me that both the board game and the UFS Mega Man deck will make their grand debut at Gen Con 2013, which kicks off on August 15th at the Indiana Convention Center. Both games will be on-hand to check out for convention goers, and there should be a decent amount of images and related media for those of us who can't make the trip. Of course I'll keep you informed on the details as well.

Stay tuned!

  1. A lot sooner than I expected. Now I don't have to count the weeks before I get to know if these two games are anything interesting or... well.. not.

  4. I have some pics/details on the board game and UFC decks. How should I share them? I think I'm going to make a tumblr post and link it here maybe?

    Short story:

Right now there are some Megaman playmats available but nothing else is for sale. The design for the Megaman and Protoman UFC decks and tins are done and they have some prototype copies around to look at and play with at the demo tables but they haven't gone to print yet. No release date but I'd guess October.

The board game has its mechanics pretty much finalized, but everything else is up in the air. They don't know what art assets Capcom will 1) have, 2) let them use, 3) let them alter, and Capcom has been keeping pretty close tabs on them to make sure they stay faithful to the property, so the graphic design of the game is mostly not even close to set. The base game will be the first game, there are planned expansions to add characters and levels from the later games, and the game can be played mix-and-match with any set of levels/RMs from any combination of the games. There will be a Kickstarter for the board game starting in September and continuing through the end of October.

A prototype version of the board game will be around for demo tomorrow, but there's nothing on display for it now except test 3D models of the Rockman and Cutman minis. (there will be minis for each of the RMs from the first game).

Anyone have questions for the Jasco Games people?
