Final Mega Man Volnutt Design Revealed

It's been a long time coming but a verdict has been reached: You're winning Mega Man Volnutt design is.... a slightly modified design D! Design D topped the vote with an astounding 66% and 57% in Japan and Worldwide respectively. Check it out for yourself:

With the conceptual phase out of the way, the dev team can now get down to modeling the design into the actual game itself, which will surely look great in action.

As you can see, Design D sports a more "rugged" image than previous choices, complete with additional creases, curves, and other nifty little attributes. Don't know about you, but I'd say Mega Man is certainly looking a tad older in the face, yes?

Satisfied with the result? Sound off in the comments!

  3. Excellent. A wise and beautiful choice! He does look a bit older in the face and the armor is perfect for the third game. I am very pleased this was the winner. =)

  5. Awesome. Can't wait to see the model in-game.

  6. I was really rooting for the fresher, "open" look...y'know, the one all the boys seem to hate.

  7. I voted for E, but looking at this, I prefer it now.

  9. So... the winning design is "MegaMan Volnutt"?

If there's a difference between this and the design from the previous titles, it's little more than surface details. The changes are bound to be imperceptible during gameplay anyway.

Somehow this reminds me of the "Malibu Stacy with a New Hat" joke.

  10. I think people can easily guess that I am most relieved on the fact that his crotch and behind are covered.

That’s really all I can comment on, but he certainly does look more complex and slicker now, which is good. Some of it will take some time to get used to.

But anything is better than having no cod piece.

You would be too if you were stuck on a moon for 10 damn years.

  13. I'm guessing not everyone was too comfortable with Design E and its resemblance to BN/ZX/Starforce Megaman. Speaking as an avid BN fan, I honestly don't blame you as it looked some kinds of wrong even for me. This one really does give the impression of an older megaman: so much so I swear seeing his face, he looks a lot like X.

  14. Well, THIS design I like. I see a bit of C/E-esque elements were incorporated, and Trigger looks more human than the original B/D designs… :D

Oh, and is it just me, or does the final design look a little too bulky to any of you?

And Trigger looks kinda mad... I liked the "laid back (?)" style of the original designs....

  15. Holy crap, so badass looking. I am very pleased. :)

  16. I'm glad Design D won and got modfied, I hated Design C and E cause who doesn't want to see Trigger without his underwear plate, I mean, he might get kicked in the you know what by a human and hit by a Reverbot attack.

That is why I liked this form better than C and E

  17. Jesus, Megaman Volnutt seriously looks like he is going to murder someone in cold blood. Haha.

It's interesting how many minute changes they made to D to get that design though. They really changed a lot of the finer details. It looks great, but it almost seems like the design is a departure from the art style. Could just be that they aged him.

  18. Yay. I vote that one. GOOD!

  19. His expression is as serious as that from Mega Man Universe's Mega Man. Why so serious?
Trouble with the two (three) mothers bossing him around?

  20. Satisfied. He looks tough.

  21. I like that his hair shows under the helmet.

    Stoked for this game.

  22. I'd be a tad upset stuck on Elysium myself. It looks great...a relief for sure. Miss the orange backpack a little.

Hey, all his joints are Revoltech!

  23. The helmet is almost Roman. Very cool.

  24. You know, his helmet design makes it look like the front pad could come down and cover his mouth. Like medieval knight helmet or something. Kind a like the .EXE series.

  25. Ohhh, that is so Figma possibility, or D-Arts or other stuff. That's an easy toy to make from this design. Ill really buy that. And perhaps mod for the figure X's armours on him , the possibility, infinite.

  26. Awesome. I love it, and I really like that he looks older too. Good continuity.

  27. >Figma

    I'm sorry, but what.
Revoltech is a lot more likely than a Figma.

  28. Well boys and girls, THAT is the reason why Volnutt isn't in the demo. They had yet to finalize the design. Are you happy now that you've got your reason?

    ^This a hundred times.

  30. If there were ever a figure of this specific design of Volnutt, I'd grab it in an instant.

This design definitely looks awesome. The only thing is that I kinda did like the "human-esque" feel of C and E, but this is still good enough.

  31. "Well boys and girls, THAT is the reason why Volnutt isn't in the demo. They had yet to finalize the design. Are you happy now that you've got your reason?"

    No. Haha.

Though I thought he was making an appearance.

  32. whoaa very nicee! hope they make a figure haha.
The helmet sorta reminds me of .exe but still awesome!

  33. Overall, my feeling is like Prof. MegaMan said. This doesn't look like any serious effort to evolve or progress the design, in any way. Too bad in my opinion. Considering how many times X changed armor in his games, I see this as a bit of a missed opportunity.

It's cool that they changed his expression on this concept art, but I don't think of that necessarily as an indication of what we can expect from him in-game.

    Well, time will tell all.

Hey, all his joints are Revoltech!

This made me bust out laughing.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Right, Revoltech joint, my mistake, I'm not into human figurine actually, so i made some mistake. But hey, better put up a petition to BANDAI we want this Rockman to be published.
