Pachislot Rockman Ability's Dr. Light is Female

If there was any doubt that Pachislot Rockman Ability (the upcoming Rockman pachinko game) isn't set in its own universe, this should get rid of it.

Spotted by Twitter user entaraina, Rockman Ability will feature the first female incarnation of the good doctor. She will be voiced by Mie Sonozak, best known for her work in various anime and video games. In the case of the latter, she is best known for her role as Crimson Viper in Street Fighter IV and Arle Nadja in the Puyo Puyo franchise.

No other details about Dr. Light are available at this time. If tradition stands true, however, we can infer that she is the creator of Rock, Roll, and, maybe, Trancy.

More news on Rockman Ability soon, no doubt. Thanks to Caleb for the translation!

  1. She looks like Tron Bonne trying to cosplay as Dr. Light.

  2. I doubt that whatever world this pachinko game is trying to set up will have any kind of lasting legacy.

    1. don't think they're particularly trying to set something up. Pachinko is rather niche thing aniway (even if it's very popular in Japan), so they're just likely doing their own thing. which is is fine.

  3. I feel a bit uncomfortable that Dr. Light is young and sexy. I would have preferred a Mrs. Claus look.

  8. Looks like this "game" is competing with Fully Charged for the Most Non-Canon Mega Man Thing of 2018 Award...and winning. Great job devs!

    1. loosing largely. As it seem now, this was never supposed to be a "adaptation", even a very distant one like Fully Charged, and clearly is in it's own verse. Actually, being a pachink rather than a video game, or a adaptation in comic/manga/Whatever form, it was clear from the get go that it was'nt suposed to stick to the games Canon. So there's no reason why they could'nt have a female scientist. Aside from this, it's pretty standard MM formula so far, about as far from classic MM as MM battle Network was, which never stopped it from being very Megaman. You got the rock, the roll, (well there's also another female character but other installement have done it before), a scientist. No Aki light thing, namagem or whatever... (now of course, nothing guarantee that it will not LATER turn out to be further away from MM that FC is, but for now, not).
We just have to see if they bring a red Protoman friend and a Dark Rival like Bass or Vile, and if they include a form of elemental balance (though i wonder how you do it on a Pachinko, i don't know exactly how thoses things works).

  9. What if she's just called doctor Light and the relation ends there? Or what if she's a relative? It doesn't necessarily need to be rule63.

    3. he does'nt particularly said that she was a rule 63. just that she was a scientist named doctor light and possibly the creator of Rockman.

  11. Sooo...ummm...are we sure someone just didn't mortally wound Dr. Light and he ended up regenerating into a female body?

  12. Not only is Dr. Right a girl… but, she's sporting a pompadour that would make Classic-series Blues jealous! Look at that thing! I bet it has more bounce than Springman, on a good day! Wow!

… I'm done, now. Nyeh heh.
