Jasco Announces New, Officially-Licensed "Mega Man All-Stars" Board Game

Capcom nominates Armando Sionosa to handle the game's art

Jasco Games' long-awaited successor to the officially-licensed Mega Man Board Game is coming closer to fruition.

The manufacturer announced Mega Man All-Stars this week on livestream. As the name implies, the game features a star-studded cast -- literally every Robot Master AND Star Droid ever!

The basic gameplay tasks players with defending Dr. Light's lab from an incoming horde of Robot Masters and Star Droids; a concept deliberately inspired Hitoshi Ariga's Mega Man Megamix. To defend the lab, players must seek out and defeat different Robot Masters/Star Droids to build-up a Special Weapons loadout. Once adequately armed, they can take the final battle to Dr. Wily and - if strong enough - save the day.

Mega Man All-Stars will include four playable characters straight out of the box -- full-color mini figures based on Mega Man+Rush, Roll+Beat, Proto Man+Tango (Tango, people!) and Bass+Treble. The game's designers hint that it's possible to play as Robot Masters/Star Droids, even if they don't have an official mini-figure. We'll have to wait and see how that pans out exactly.

Much like its predecessor, Mega Man All-Stars will debut on Kickstarter. Campaign launch date and additional details are forthcoming. In the meantime, you should check out the livestream for more gameplay tidbits, close-ups of the mini figures, behind-the-scenes facts and more official art!

So that's that for now. Mega Man All-Stars sounds like a really promising idea and Jasco are hopeful fans will be receptive to it. I'm really looking forward to watching this one unfold!

More news on this front soon!

  1. Do Mega Man merchandise even sell well?
Kinda hard to advertise them when the series is "dead"
Yeah we got MM11 like 3 years ago and we got a Zero collection just last year..but still

    1. Yes. Mega Man is a multimedia franchise. The IP can be leveraged in different fields without a game to carry it.

    2. "The series is 'dead'"
I thought we where pass this phase. For the last time, Mega Man is not a dead franchise. We're getting a live action movie, there was a leak for a game in 2022, Capcom plans on making more Mega Man content once this pandemic is behind us, and until we got all of that, we got a decent mobile game to hold us out. The franchise has at least 100 titles. The Mega Man franchise is not-and never will be-a franchise I would deem "dead".

    3. The franchise has had a steady string of merchandise deals for over 10 years without a big game to carry it and there are no signs of it stopping. The answer should be more than obvious.

    4. The franchise is not dead. But it is way off track.

    5. It isn't "Dead" 3 years ago we had MM11, then we had the other collections so it's fr from dead now, I understand 4 years ago it was dead as hell but now? geez.

  2. I'm assuming the first one did well enough that they figured that a second Mega Man Board Game would be worth while to make.

    1. Sort of. It actually started out of an update to the first one but quickly took on a life of it's own. For that reason I'm hoping it does better critique-ly then the first.

    1. Ahh, thank you. I will skip it. Not interested. Only Rockman/MegaMan video games.

  5. I heard less than good things about the previous MM board game gameplay-wise, so I'm curious as to how this one pans out.

    1. I've only heard rumors, but if they're to be believed, that one is better

  6. So..what are the chances of us hearing about a new game for E3 from Capcom? Meh, probably just going to be a bunch of Monster Hunter/Redisdent Evil/Street fighter stuff as usual, but I’ll keep hoping.

I’m really starting to wonder if that all news back in 2019 about the team making a new Megaman game...was DIVE supposed to be that game they hyped us up for?

    1. The November data breach indicated "Rockman Taisen" - a large budget title - would release in Q3-Q4 2022. It's more than likely the major title Tsuchiya has been working on.

  7. Unless this game has a single player mode... Not much point in buying it. It does look cool, though.

  8. I thought it was really fun. I enjoyed the first board game but definitely agreed with critics on its flaws detracting from the game. This board game is completely different from the first one and has an entirely new engine. I've had the chance to play this game in beta testing and it's fun. I won't spoil things, but assuming it's the same as what I played, there is a LOT of flexibility in gameplay. I felt like it was very thoughtfully designed and there's a lot of actual strategy in it. The first board game required a lot of luck and your only strategy was how you played your cards, but this one gives you more options per turn.

  9. With a name like Mega Man All-Stars, I was picturing a Mega Man musou game (which would be awesome). XD

  11. Is there anyone here who can reach the team? Please ask them to add other licensed characters like Ra Thor, the Dimensions and the Constellation Droids. Just wondering if Capcom willing to licensed out those characters.

"literally every Robot Master AND Star Droid ever!"

Are characters such as Quint, Duo, Evil Robot, Genesis Unit and the King's Army also available?

"The game's designers hint that it's possible to play as Robot Masters/Star Droids, even if they don't have an official mini-figure."

So I guess it's going to be stand up figures, right? Like this:

    1. I was wondering this too, so I watched part of the video; they explicitly said that the RMKs (Enker, Punk, Quint, and Ballade) didn't make the cut as proper bosses, but will be cameos somehow. Which kinda stinks. I mean, they're technically Robot Masters, so it's not "every RM ever", I guess. But at least we get the Stardroids! Still, I'm gonna miss Ballade. Best RM ever. *Sniffle*

  13. As a board game enthusiast, I love this! Will definitely support. I missed out on the first board game, but I rectified that mistake and got the Pixel Tactics when it came out. Now I can't wait for this! Wooo!

    1. Jasco rebranded as "UVS Games" and just do some anime card game thing now. Sad because this sounded pretty cool.
